Authentic Italian Delight in Luton. My visit to this traditional Italian restaurant in Luton was an unforgettable gastronomic experience. The menu, deeply rooted in authentic Italian cuisine, offered an array of rich, flavorful dishes that far surpassed my expectations. Every bite transported me directly to a charming Italian trattoria. A real gem in Luton's culinary scene. Highly recommended for any food lover! Five stars.
30 years dining here and it is always fantastic. Lovely to see Leonardo and Italia again - normally my appetite as I get older reduces but the food is so good here we can still manage 2-3 courses and drinks - thank you all for making every visit as special as the first x
The tomato sauce is amazing, I have never eaten such delicious. I love it very much 😋😋
Lovely traditional Italian restaurant. I visited here for a friend's birthday over 10 years ago, and it was lovely then.
I went last night for my wife and I's 6 months anniversary.
We both had a starter. Mine was the fried calamari, which was very fresh and tender. My wife had the breaded mushrooms with pate inside. I tried a bit, and it was lovely.
I will say there was no pizza's on the menu, which was a good thing because there are so many pizza restaurants if that's what you want. The menu had a wide variety of dishes, including vegetarian options, and I think I overheard on another table that some dishes were gluten-free too.
I ordered the seafood linguine and her the steak in brandy glacé sauce. My linguine was a lovely big portion with langoustines, mussels, and other seafood, all cooked in a lovely garlic sauce. My wife ordered a medium steak that was melt in the mouth with a lovely sauce. We ordered a side order of brocoli, but it probably would have been better to get the mixed vegetables as they came with sautéed potatoes, which would have gone well with the steak. Also, I should have ordered some bread to mop up both of our great sauces.
The desert was tiramisu and a mint ice cream chocolate bomb. Both lovely. All washed down with a bottle of pilot grigio blush and a hot drink for afters.
The staff were friendly, the washrooms clean and well kept. The ambience was just right. There was background Italian music, which was there but not too loud.
We were really happy with everything and we won't wait over 10 years to come here again
This authentic fine dining Italian restaurant is absolutely brilliant.
I originally read an article in the news about it online where it was complimented for the delicious food and fantastic service it offers at an incredible value and situated in Luton. From there on, I was keen to experience this myself, I headed over on a Friday night, made the reservation half hour before (luckily that had a table available) and we were welcomed warmly.
The menu has plenty of options to choose from, the food was exceptionally delicious, the starters - the calamari, the garlic bread, the bruschetta, all of it was extremely well cooked and had wonderful flavours! The main courses we ordered were fantastic, all tasting incredible. The desert was tasty and a great way to end the meal.
The staff were very attentative, very professional but also making us feel so comfortable. Lovely family business from the looks of it. The owner asked us how our food is, he also ensured the ingredients were accommodating our taste buds in terms of spices etc.
Overall, an exceptionally great Italian restaurant, that is now on my top 10 list of great places to eat!
Brilliant, 5 stars 🌟
Typical italien food . Very good and Nice People
Great authentic Italian food pairing with good quality Italian house wine, staffs are friendly and relaxing atmosphere, super. Highly recommended.
Amazing place, took one of the very tasty chef's specials. The owner and the chef is real Italian, the raw materials are imported, the price is good and the place has a warn authentic feel.
A very cosy small restaurant with a great choice in the menu! We have selebrated my birthday and we loved everything :the food, the staff and service!! Thank you so much!
My wife and I like to travel to try new restaurants and the Monna Lisa was over an hour’s drive to get to.
Unfortunately it is not situated in the most salubrious part of Luton and parking is difficult and the interior décor harps back to the 70’s with its artexed ceilings and walls and false timber beams. However, they must save their money for the fresh ingredients and decent wine.
We were met by two very nice ladies who showed us to a table, and we were give the menu, note – the menu is huge, and it is recommended that you look at it on their website first to get a rough idea as to what you are likely to order before arriving.
I had the arrabiata chicken, (see photo), and my wife the trout – both cooked exactly as we liked. I ordered peas and I was informed they were cooked Italian style, with onions and in a tomato sauce, something I have not had before. And although they looked a bit weird, see photo, they were actually, very tasty.
We booked relatively early, (7 pm), and by 8 pm they were full – so pre book.
The main surprise was when we received the bill. For a 3-course meal, a bottle of wine and two beers, it came to £82.00 – very good value.
If I have one complaint – I tried to book the table via their web site that promised to reply, by phone within 24 hours – a week late they hadn’t, so I called direct. The first time the person I spoke to could not hear me, the second time they kept breaking up, and the third time I got the booking – so some work needed in that area.
But over all an excellent meal and we will definitely be back. Thanks Monna Lisa.
Great fresh food. Wonderfull atmosphere and wonderfull staff. Real Italians and it's so chilled and relaxed that I will go back again to eat here. Lots of options as well. Including vegetarian dishes
Awesome!!! I had the liver and so tender you can cut it with a fork. Dan had lasagna and it was very good also. I had a glass of rosa and it was very good and I'm not much of a wine drinker. Staff was great.
Will go back!!
Firstly, WOW, secondly, WOW and thirdly, I can't wait to go back.
Everything was right, beautifully decorated restaurant, faultless hospitality, wine temperature spot on, food cooked as ordered to perfection plus a hostess with a warm greeting and great sense of humour. You can't ask for anything more.
If you're in Luton and don't go here then you are really missing out.
An amazing dinner. The food is authentic and made with love. Wonderful
Food was amazing, super tasty and proper Italian.
Excellent friendly genuine Italian restaurant. Haven't had such authentic Italian food in a very long time. Excellent choice for vegetarians: we enjoyed the lasagne and the broccolli/asparagus/leek 'pancake'. Beautiful sides of vegetables and sauteed potatoes.
Loved the cheesecake. Great attentive service. Would definitely make an effort to come back here. Superbly priced for London, for such genuine tasty food!
A wonderful place, clean and tidy and very comfortable place. From the outside it looks lovely and the inside is even better, very well decorated .
Delicious traditional food. Friendly staff, a little old fashioned decor but I kind of liked that. Best Tiramisu (home made) I have ever had. Light, not too strong on the alcohol "melts in your mouth" reasonably priced👍😊
Amazing food .lovely home cooked food. Lovely service. Very Very good value. Cant wait to go back. Nicola.
