Absolutely delicious salt fish fritters in sourdough, with pickles and chipotle mayo! And the richest hot chocolate I’ve had in this country! The perfect dessert. Left absolutely full to the brim and smiling. The staff here are so friendly and the views of the river are quite special. A must to anyone visiting or living in the area.

This excellent and very busy Michelin and Good Food Guide listed cafe right beside the Teme at Dinham, below the castle at Ludlow, just a few metres from the more famous, Michelin-starred Mr Underhill’s does nothing to diminish the town’s culinary reputation. The food is all carefully-sourced and in perfect condition. A bustling slight confusion about what was on and what was off was soon overcome and my melt-in-the-mouth gravadlax arrived with dill and mustard dressing and first class fresh rye bread. My companions’ pasta looked pretty good too. I followed with panacotta and a poached peach. The wine is sourced as carefully as the food and comes from ‘small family run independent vineyards’ and a modestly-priced Alsatian white - Domaine Leon Boesch, La Cabane 2011 – rounded the whole thing off. The Green Cafe has 30 seats inside with 25 on the patio outside, only of course usable when the weather is good, so you need to book. It is a lunch-time venue and operates 90 minute sittings. But on a good day, as it was for our visit, it’s an utter joy. Kids were safely paddling in the shallow water of the river and the mood, assisted by the friendly, busy, but unhassled staff, was like a party. The green credentials of the place are underlined by the care with which everything is done, including refurbishment. It is worth citing this – we are using Edward Bulmers paints - "Pots of Paints" based in Pembridge, Herefordshire. Our new tables have been made from reclaimed wood by Steve Hodges of Leominster – how entirely brilliant is that? A stroll across Dinham Bridge, led to the riverside nature path on the right bank of the Teme which we took on our way to the Charlton Arms, where, on the terrace overlooking the river, we sank a few pints of Hobsons. Not too bad a lunchtime at all.

It was a lovely little cafe and what we had was delicious but they had run out of quite a bit when we got there at 3pm.

Last Friday our family held a gathering of 23 at the Green Cafe. This was a large group for them to cater for but they did a grand job. The arrangements beforehand were straightforward and practical. On the day they were welcoming and accommodating although we turned up with extra people (including one of the five children). The food they prepared for us was first rate. We had a Greek restauranteur with us who praised the moussaka in particular. Our biggest problem was that everyone was having such a good time in the end we had to gently point out they were staying open for us and they had homes to go to!

Had a takeaway hot dog, a couple of coffees and their famous cinnamon roll from the takeout window. And can I just say - I now understand the hype of the cinnamon rolls; fresh from the oven, crisp outside with a warm buttery inside. The views were stunning but the food was even better!

Wow! Incredible flavourful food and the best service of the year. The waiters really cared about their customers. Fabulous experience - hoping to return as many times as possible. It’s great to see an embracing of eating according to the seasons. Second visit, just stopped off for the vegan breakfast. Fabulously tasty! Returned a year later (8/23) - continued excellent food and service. Love it.

We had delicious breakfasts and good coffee. Stunning location. I had the Swedish breakfast and my husband had the full breakfast, both really good.. About £17.00 each with coffee.

A really unexpected gem! I'd passed this place the day prior, and must admit I wasn't drawn to it from the outside, thinking it was just a generic coffee stop with not much character and just not my cup of tea (no pun intended). However, I passed again today and thought I'd stop in for a quick coffee as I was freezing, and was totally surprised by it in every way. The staff were really friendly, helpful, accommodating (fitting me in between bookings) and also super patient (with my stream of questions as to whether their oat milk was gluten free, whether they did decaf and also gluten free food), and with a nice vibe inside, I thought the menu was definitely worth a perusal. Not the type of menu I was expecting at all, with a lot of unusual and extremely tempting dishes. I opted for the small dish of the chicken shawarma with a side of gf flatbread, and wow! My taste buds were not expecting those flavours at all, it was divine, and I made sure to enjoy each mouthful fully. What started out as a potential stop for a quick coffee turned out to be one of the most enjoyable of hours of my trip. Fab service from people who genuinely seemed to care paired with good coffee, delicious food and a very enjoyable book for company! Thank you Emma and the rest of the team for a thoroughly enjoyable lunch! 😇

Great food with great view! We were satisfied with every dishes, except the Karma Coke drink. 😛 Remember to reserve the table before your visit.

Set right on the river, in the old mill. This place is ideal to take in the beautiful surroundings of Ludlow. We opted for a full breakfast. It was presented perfectly and could tell the chef is very talented at what he does. They bring a great fushion of English and exotic foods to all their dishes. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite to our taste for that time of day, as I had been looking forward to a traditional Welsh breakfast. We did, however, really enjoy our experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was great. All the food is homemade, down to the tomato sauce. The ingredients were fresh and locally sourced. We will be going back for a lunch or evening meal to savour the food, as the rest of the menu did look excellent.

Wonderful lunch and excellent friendly service. We had the salmon and the trout, both were fantastic. Great location overlooking the river. Came back a year later and it's still wonderful. Breakfasts were delicious and full of local seasonal produce.

Mill on the Green. Fantastic location for breakfast. Interesting menu with lots of locally sourced products, eat-in or takeaway available. Watch cold water swimmers take the plunge as you enjoy a flat white in the warm! We opted for eggs on toasted porridege bread instead of the Full English or American pancakes. Both looked amazing, though. Friendly and speedy service.

We came for brunch and the food was delicious. Our order didn't go through and we waited over 40 minutes for it, but the waitress was apologetic and when it did arrived it was absolutely delicious. We didn't need to book but it was very busy inside. There were more seats outside but it was a bit chilly (they do provide blankets though). Overall would definitely recommend.
