Went to Ludlow this weekend great pub absolutely fabulous food great service from very friendly staff best pub food we have ever had
On my visit to ludlow found this place, being from Newcastle upon Tyne didn't no the area, the character of the pub is amazing staff were great, the food was amazing and well worth the money and loads on your plate, well worth a visit
Had the lamb shank and it was delicious . The mint gravy was to die for. Asked waitress to pass compliments to the chef!
Beautiful pub!! First time visit and will definitely be returning. Lovely friendly staff and very delicious food. Very generous portions too! Thanks to you all. X
My friend and I had sunday lunch there yesterday,it was lovely, everything nice and hot, staff very friendly, would highly recommend.
Food was fantastic, service just as good. Food arrived within 5 minutes, quicker than my beer in fact!! The inferno chicken burger was up there with anything I have eaten and the bangers with blue cheese mash was also amazing. Cracking pint as well. Will 100% be back.
Great food, large portion sizes and lovely staff - what more could you want from a pub?! Will be coming back.
Just devoured a board of pate, bread & salad ~ just perfect for a late lunch & a pint of Thatchers! Lovely old building too with friends staff
Popped in for lunch on a busy bank holiday weekend, still the service and food was fantastic. I would definitely recommend the Shropshire faggots, yum
It's always lovely to vist this town and people always have there favourite place to eat.
This is ours the staff are always friendly and the food excellent
Stopped off here for lunch and it was delicious I had the home made chicken pie and my other half had the famous Ludlow sausages. Good pint of beer, Very friendly staff too.
Massive meal. lovely food and helpful bar staff. Really enjoyed it here.
We are new to Ludlow and love to eat out, The Bull Ring was the 1st Pub we came across. Was fairly busy, and the only table free was reserved, when asked at the bar they removed the Reservation, the food was excellent and sizeable portions, but not ridiculously priced.
Very happy with the atmosphere, staff, service & food.
This will take some topping! Well Done!
Great staff lovely pub and nicely decorated, food was quick and tasty lovely place to go for a Sunday dinner
Will add photos later
Sat down for food having looked around for the best place, at 3.05pm, and was then told they finish doing food at 3pm. Typical of our luck.
Nice pint of Doombar and Inches Cider so all good.
Just be aware of the afternoon food break folks 👍. There is nothing inside or outside to advise they don’t serve all day.
A clean and well presented pub. The food is of a good standard with a menu that is not too extensive to facilitate higher quality food.
Real ale, cider, wine, spirits and lager are available to drink alongside a range of soft drinks.
The service is friendly and attentive although there did appear to be a concern about the technology during my visit from certain staff members.
There was plenty of seating, clean toilets and an area to the back of the pub for smokers to use.
Dogs are welcome in the bar area with the hard floor.
Well worth a visit for a drink and or a meal.
Great pub! Popped in here after the food and drink festival Saturday night to watch the rugby and have a few drinks. Then ended up going back on Sunday afternoon for a roast beef dinner which was beautiful it came with a Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, new potatoes, a bowl of veg, a bowl of cauliflower cheese and they bought us an extra gravy boat upon request. We will definitely return!
Absolutely delicious food - I can recommend the pork belly. Great atmosphere in there and the staff were lovely. I'd definitely make a beeline here for dinner if I come back to visit Ludlow again.
Lovely old pub good atmosphere had the Aberdeen Angus pie which was absolutely amazing.
Wonderful pub. Great beer. Great food.
Came In Friday for a drink staff very welcoming. Booked a table as it was Friday and the fish special was advertised outside on a board. Only to be told when we came to order 3 hours later there was no fish. Very disappointed. Not much on menu that was of interest. So ended up with lasagne. Lack of communication between staff and customer.
Excellent old style pub, a great selection of local beers beers and ciders. Brilliant selection of food. They do a fantastic Sunday roast. They have a the bar and another room for eating there's also outdoor seating. The staff in here always helpful very friendly, it's really is a nice pub, would highly recommend a visit
Called in for a late lunch with Mr P after exploring Ludlow. The female member of staff was very friendly. The menu was varied and the prices what you would expect for the area. I had fish pie and it was very, very good. Lots of filling, nice sauce and great mash topping. Mr P had fish and chips. We both enjoyed our food. Definitely somewhere we would return, maybe on a Saturday night when they have live music. Beautiful old building too.
We had two excellent meals here last Friday lunchtime.
The food was tasty with generous portions and good service. A nice pub with decent music and relaxed atmosphere.
We shall call again.
Dropped in yesterday 7/ 8 / 23 . First impressions as you walk is the same as when you walk into any of the hostelries in Ludlow they all seem to need a bit of a brightening up . Having said that the history and atmosphere add to the overall experience . We were made very welcome on entering even tho' the staff were very busy . Our food came quickly and was very good quality . Everyone seemed to be as satisfied with their food as we were . Will definitely call again .
Lovely local pub. Good prices. Fish Fridays was 2 for £16 and was delicious with a big fresh fish. Interior is on the older side but that is part of the experience with an old local pub. Service was fast and beer was nice.
Lovely food really enjoyed , only down fall was we felt we was rushed to finished our meal by the man with grey hair came and asked twice if we had finished and my daughter was still eating , and went to take plate away from couple behind us and they were still eating which should be knowing when people have finished they will ask for bill
Popped in for a drink on Sunday evening while visiting Ludlow. Not too busy but friendly bar staff and good beer and wine. Recommended
Roaming hungry in Ludlow, we found this bold place on the street with a signature of its own. It was definitely appealing to pub-lover hidden personality within me. Decided to check-out and I was met with awesomeness.
First things first - the portion sizes are huge!
The food itself is beautifully crafted gastronomic combination of classic flavours from a Sunday roast and then fused with fatty sweet and sourness of sauces. We decided to get a pâté, lamb shank and Sunday roast. Pâté came with sweet onion 🧅 chutney which packed flavours into the pâté texture and made the starter an absolute delight. The lamb shank’s sauce was magical, it was sweet and fatty and the lamb was so well cooked that it was literally falling off the bone 🍖. The Sunday roast was alright, not magical but still delicious.
