Me and my wife popped in with our dog for some lunch and the staff were really good with our dog bring her a couple of treats and some water straight away. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, I would definitely recommend it.

Came here for dinner on a Thursday evening as had heard good things after being taken over by Moss&Co. and it did not disappoint! Both my friend and I ordered vegetarian meals, mine being the spicy bean burger and hers the vegetarian pie & mash. They were both absolutely incredible! One of the best burgers I have ever had! Her pie also did not disappoint, but everyone knows a vegetarian is extremely happy if there's a pie on the menu that they can eat! Staff were also very attentive and helpful! Letting us know all about the amazing dessert called "The poor knights of Windsor" which was an absolute delight! Also finding out that the jam in it was homemade! Will definitely be coming here again!

The food was fantastic and reasonably priced too, the staff were friendly and professional. For an extra bonus, watching them struggle to get the card machine to maintain a connection long enough to take a payment was additional entertainment; next time we'll take cash. ;)

Was highly recommended by many people, so decided to bring a friend and try it out. Great service and plenty of parking for customers, lovely atmosphere and attention to detail throughout with whole restaurant. I got the chicken in the bucket, large portion and delicious! my friend wasn't 100% on his village burger but still ate it all, after tells me he doesn't like mushrooms. Overall lovely evening. would recommend to anyone who hasn't been before! :)

One of the best meals I've had, the sea bass is my favourite is ,exquisite taste and is cooked to perfection every time , the staff is attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is delightful, cant wait to come here more times specially now as the weather is getting warmer the overlooking the pond is an added bonus. Definitely recommend the Sea Bass and the chicken in a bucket.

The Village Maid has been taken over by new management - Moss & Co. The exterior has had a makeover as has the interior. There is much nicer lighting inside now and better seats. There is a small rear seating area outside in the carpark too, which would be nice in the summer. The carpark is quite small, if you can get a space you'll be lucky. There is however Lound Pond just outside the front of the pub and parking all along the road is always available. There is wheelchair accessible doorways and there is space to move around inside using one also. There is a wide selection of drinks on offer and also food. The pricing is nearing on the steeper side but the food is well cooked and presented nicely. The photos attached are of the southern fried chicken with chips and salted caramel cheesecake with popcorn. The popcorn was very unnecessary for the dessert and I ended up leaving it. The chicken was nicely cooked as were the chips. My friends who were with me couldn't complain about their dishes either. The inside of the Village Maid was clean and tidy. There were an array of customers all in different age ranges. The service however, was lacking, the food took a long while to come out so much so we thought they had forgotten about us and when we did receive it there was no apology for how long we had waited. The person serving us didn't smile either and towards the end we felt like we were being rushed out even though there was still 45mins until closing time. We visited on a Thursday eve, so we were confused as to why food took so long as there weren't that many people eating, mainly social drinking. I would visit again, hoping that it would be better a second time. I would advise booking a table, if there are more than 2 of you. The tables were mostly set up for couples. All in all a nice place to eat and drink.

Wiled away a very pleasant 3 hours on Saturday after exploring Lound Lakes NR with the dogs. Couldn’t fault the food and prices were very reasonable for the quality. Will definitely be returning

Excellent food, service and venue. Everything is exceptionally well done, from the ingredients, to the cooking, to the range and quality of drinks. We usually opt for the fish and chips, after recommendations from friends, but everything we have had has been wonderful. The fish and chips are well worth the visit alone, but there is a good range of dishes on the menu, including at least 2 fully vegan ones. I took my mum there earlier in the week and she's already planning to go back soon. You can't book the outdoor tables, but we've always managed to get one, and it's really calm and relaxing sitting out in the country. The inside is lovely too, however. Generous portions of top quality food, served by friendly staff (attentive but not overbearing) - a lovely place to visit. Apologies that my photo doesn't do the food justice!

Only called in for a pint on the way home from Lowestoft to gorleston, nice comfortable couch to sit at, served a refreshing pint of Aspels cider by Daryl who was the perfect host and made us feel welcome. While we were there a regular called in along with their dog, who was treated with some doggie treat which was a nice touch.Had a look at the menu and will definitely be calling back some time to sample what looked like a nice offering. The village pond along with ducks is opposite and just adds to the ambiance of the Village Maid.

I’ve visited the village maid a few times now and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Both are always to a very good standard. There is a good choice of dishes to choose from, feels like there is something for everyone. I was amazed by the service I received today, I called to make a reservation for lunch, as I wanted to take my dog along with me. It’s great that the Village Maid is dog friendly (respectfully dogs are allowed in the bar area but not the main restaurant, however this really doesn’t feel like a restriction, you still have your own space, table and you’re not out the way of the atmosphere.) On arrival I was greeted by the very friendly staff and taken to my table, and there was already a bowl of water and a plate of treats for my furry friend, it’s great to know that he really was welcome and made a great impression to me as a dog owner.

We had not booked on a Sunday lunchtime visit but we were given a table for 2 immediately. Good choice of food available. I had roast pork, my husband roast beef, which arrived at the table quicker than I expected as they were very busy. All very tasty variety of veg together with sausage and Yorkshire..my only issue was a lot of fat on the pork. Good food good value and excellent service .I recommend a visit we will return.
