Where to start on how wonderful this place is. Booked in Monday to Friday with our dog Lily. The staff made us feel like we were home from home. Lily had free run of the bar area and made lots of friends making sure they knew where the dog biscuits were kept. The food was exceptional. Keiren, Vicky and the chef were absolutely amazing when it came to making sure my food was "safe" for me to eat. (Being a ceoliac). I have never eaten so well out of my own home, so thank you so much for making my holiday completely stress free. The staff and locals were so friendly and helpful with information of good walks and the best beach. We have met some lovely people this week. We would recommend the anchor inn to any one who has different food requirements, likes a good friendly atmosphere and must love dogs.

Went to the anchor Inn after a mess up with my pre-wedding room at my wedding venue..... After explaining the situation to the staff at the Anchor Inn, they were amazing to say the least.... Considering there were 8 off us, they did their best to move beds around to make us as comfortable as possible, dinner was amazing and the breakfast table was set out for us (which we weren't expecting).... Couldn't thank the staff enough, who turned a stressful tearful bridezilla's pre-wedding night into the best most memorable night I could of wished for and better then what was actually planned.... Considering what all the fantastic staff did for me and my party and how amazing the hotel was, the bill was a lot less then expected..... A heart felt thank you to the Anchor Inn and all its staff xxx

One of the best pubs I have been too! Went there for our friend wedding anniversary and they have the whole package, gorgeous rooms, lovely outside area with live music and such good food! Highlights included: 1) they had a gin festival on the day with £5 a gin 2) the staff gave me and my partner a lift back to where we were staying at 1am cos we couldn't get a taxi! So nice! 3) they served complimentary potatoes and Yorkshire puddings with gravy on the bar the next day! 4) amazing quality booze for Great prices and serving the best vodka, gin you name it 5) they have random fancy dress hats lying around that you can help yourself too!

Excellent lunch, lovely atmosphere and, with a warm fire, a delightful refuge from the rain. I had Beetroot Quinoa and the other half opted for Pie of the Day, both were delicious. Then we shared a cheeseboard. Two very satisfied customers - a bit mystified by the quantity of Charterhouse photos though.

We came here for a family Sunday lunch which was delicious. Staff were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful, courteous and efficient. Yummy puddings. If I wasn't so far away in Suffolk then would be a regular.

The Anchor has changed hands many times, we had Sunday Lunch on the 15th October 2023, the staff were very friendly, however, we had to wait for sometime before we were even handed a menu. When our food did arrive, we had some items missing, as in, the Chicken should have had stuffing and Bread Sauce. The food was tasty and we would go again, its just a shame that the service could have been more attentive.

Had a delicious Sunday Lunch - staff were warm and friendly. To make it even better it would have perhaps helped if plates had been hot and gravy came out in a jug so food was hotter. Overall, a fab pub - great ambience and will definitely go back.

There was a varied choice on the menu and the food was very tasty. Service was excellent with staff being attentive. However, we didn't feel rushed at all. A great place to enjoy lunch.

We didn't eat here, just a drink and one pudding for one. We had a very friendly welcome by the staff, the lady behind the bar was very friendly and clearly enjoys her job, the same for the lady who welcomed us as we came in the door, she also loves her job, whisking around the tables, making sure everybody had their orders, smiling and chatting. The outside area is superb, ideal for weddings or parties, it's very pretty and the tables are well placed apart, lots of flowers and tasteful arrangements. The inside is cozy, they hold quiz nights and other events. I would rate this establishment over the other pub in the opposite direction. Turn left when you come over the bridge! 😊. Highly recommend this pub. As Arnie says "I'll be back.." next time to eat.

We were served by Sophia who was friendly, polite, attentive and knowledgeable, and made the whole experience very pleasant. It was a nice touch that she apologised for the delay in the food, but we had not really noticed as the conversation was flowing with our guests. The Anchor is becoming one of our go-to places for meals with friends!

We were looking for somewhere between Dorset and London to have a family get together and the Anchor fitted the bill perfectly. The service we received from the beginning was excellent. Nadia showed us around and kept in touch by email until the day. We needed to add an extra person at the last minute and it didn't seem to be a problem at all. On the day, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was lovely. We will happily go again.

We had a delightful stay at the Anchor Inn. We stayed here for one night due to a nearby wedding. While it took a bit of searching to find staff upon arrival, the location and ambiance are truly idyllic. The breakfast was delicious, and although the room's characteristic beams added charm, they did pose a challenge for our heads. Overall, a wonderful experience.

We have just spent 3 wonderful nights at the Anchor Inn, the accommodation was excellent along with the staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. They welcomed our dog and treated her as one of the family. The food in my opinion was particularly note worthy being cooked exceptionally well and a good selection. I would highly recommend this Inn for a stay be it short or long.

We held our wedding reception here on 12th August 2023 and the day was absolutely perfect. The venue lends itself beautifully to a wedding. Nothing was too much trouble for Nadia and her excellent team. All our our guests commented on the excellent food - Aaron the chef even got a round of applause. We were blessed with good weather and were able to make use of the well maintained garden area. The bedrooms were quirkily unique and added to the overall experience. Several of our guests were so impressed that they said they would go back to visit the Anchor Inn in the near future for a meal. We appreciated the flexible approach to the drinks and catering offered to our guests which was loved by all. Everyone had a brilliant time and we wish we could do it all again!!! Lots of brilliant, happy memories of the day. Thank you Nadia, Cory, Aaron, Carol and the rest of the team from Kathy and Adrian Long x

Really lovely huge room and even bigger bathroom. Lots of room was great as we had a big dog with us. Very well looked after, the service and care from the staff was superb, and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Gave 4 stars as couple of kitchen hiccups but again, service worked hard to overcome this. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.
