Really great food especially the lamb shank of Sunday roast menu. The portion sizes are huge! Lovely service from all the staff and would highly recommend the deep fried Brie for starter and the classic prawn cocktail. The garden is huge with lots of seating and BBQ on Sunday’s too, prices were very reasonable. Will definitely return again!!

Popped in for lunch on Tuesday it was busier than I expected obviously very popular, despite this the service was great and the food was delicious it was a warm day and the staff even made sure their doggie customers had plenty of water while their owners relaxed. Would definitely recommend a visit. Good portion sizes and reasonable prices. Also a menu for dogs which is a nice touch.

Walked one afternoon from Waltham abbey to here , very dog friendly and good food however too many disobedient children on the loose ! Not the pubs fault . Lovely to recline on the grass or sit on a bench with a pint overlooking Epping forest

Nice informal atmosphere and variety of places to sit. Good location for a walk. We were pleased with our lunches (soup, liver). An excellent pot of tea! X

Lovely venue, plenty of outside seating, helpful and friendly staff, but most of all delicious food. Lots of choice with traditional pub fayre, pizza and BBQ available on certain days with Sunday Roast too. Highly recommended.

It's a very nice place the staff are constantly cleaning due to covid. We had not booked a table but it was my partner's birthday so we went out for food the Manager gave us a small table in the corner we got a waitress how was a delightful young lady how got us how drinks straight away. She then took how order for how meal and checked in to see if everything thing was ok . She also kept how table clean and tidy throughout how stay . The food was great it's not pub food that they serve will definitely recommend to family and friends.

The perfect pub to taste grilled food. Somehow cheap and of course delicius huge dishes. And the amazing thing is that not only they alow dogs inside but also they have a special menu for them, thanks, hopefully other restaurants copy this idea

Great pub on the edge of Epping Forest. Decent kids' play area, big outdoor space, lovely surroundings and dog friendly. Staff are lovely, although some of the more senior staff do seem to be going through the motions. Food seems decent, from what I saw, but didn't eat here as, at 5:15pm on a Sunday, they'd stopped serving food. Decent ales, but slightly limited selection. Apple juice was from the pump and tasted syrupy, quite fake. Overall I would say it's worth a visit but make sure you see Google maps for when they close and when they stop serving food as it's quite early.

Can't score the food as a small group of us wanted to eat a reasonably priced meal....so we decided jacket potatoes and pizza....neither were available so we went elsewhere! Lovely pub....great views.....

Nice pub. Situated on Lipetts Hill. Plenty of parking and overspill car park at the side. Easy access for everyone. Outdoor benches and glass restaurant along with country pub bar seating and food. Outdoor heating and indoor open fireplace if it's cold. Plenty of space for young children to run around or a quote pub during the week for adults. Lots of drink options. BBQ during the summer and the food menu is ok with a reasonable selection for everyone. Good for a pub lunch or short visit if your passing

I had a very enjoyable family lunch here today, 19/08/22. The Owl features both indoor and outdoor eating and drinking, subject to the weather conditions. There is a good number of parking spaces available in two separate carparks. The staff are friendly and attentive and the service was quite speedy. The Owl has a very good menu selection and most tastes should be catered for, including your dogs as they also are catered for and are very welcome. The Owl serves a Sunday roast.
