Well I've been drinking in this pub from the day it opened to its final day of trading today. 1st October 2023.
Such found memories and a true shame that this pub is going, a public house that has served this community well.
Could have been a 5 but a few let downs. The mixed grill I ordered was excellent. Hot, even the peas and cooked the way I like. The steak was medium which wouldn't suit everyone. My still water was served with ice and lemon. Nice one. The let down was the non-arrival of my side. You get a choice wit
Called in on a very wet very busy Wednesday there was ten of us and we managed to get seating on the upper tier.
Bar and waiting staff attentive and polite.
The food came out in good time and was very good.
Definitely worth a revisit at some point.
Been here many times, always a great cheap and cheerful place to go. Love the food specially with the free drink. Myself and my friends are absolutely gutted it's closing down at the end of the month
food was decent, ordered via the app, and never received cups for the tea. I did try to ask, but they were very rushed during service. Not major as bought the other drinks I ordered, so I left it be. It's always cheap to have a bit of snap there, so i will always go back
Great value for money and lovely food. Staff are always friendly and food is out quickly and piping hot.

Great place to eat at especially when you are going to an event at the town hall 😁. Ordered fish and chips,was amazing! Huge piece of fish 🐠 chips are tady too. Place convenient but tired looking...needs a re- vamp and will attract extra custom. Already well used .
Not the most appealing 'spoons, but the rather dark interior is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Service was fast despite it being busy. As always, the prices for food and drink are sensible although you probably wouldn't want to eat here everyday. The egg and bacon muffins were nicely
What can I say, cheap and cheerful. Nice tuna panini with a free drink for under £6. You can't complain.
Great value late breakfast, everything is always fab , I can't believe it's being sold off, gutted as we love spoons !!!
The food is delicious every time and it is reasonably priced for what you get. The atmosphere is always nice and relaxed in here during the day time.

Beautiful meal, the cod and batter really good, staff were very pleasant and obliging. The food was hot and didn't have to wait long, especially as there was 8 of us. The reason I didn't give five stars is the building is dark and dingy.
Soild menus good beers and friendly efficient staff. Will be missed if it closes in the coming months as its a convenient lunch stop for that end of town
But it doesn't matter any more because one of my most favourite places to eat and drink is being closed on 1st October 😭
Great spoons before it got closed, always very popular! Pizza was actually insanely good.
