Visiting from Lancashire and our native chippy game is strong, so we know what we are talking about!!! Ben's fish and chips are the best we have ever had! The batter was sensational. We couldn't get them back to Duloe quick enough!!A must visit if you are in the area.

I've been waiting to visit Ben's Plaice since they opened! Heard great reviews, and seen gorgeous photos on Facebook. Tonight, we visited and thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Super friendly and helpful staff, and freshly cooked food. The selection of food available on the specials board is impressive, as I've never seen so much choice in a chippy before. Keep up the great work, and we look forward to trying out other dishes next time we pop in!

Staying up at Tregoad Park and fancied fish and chips for tea and found this little gem! We had large cod and chips, regular cod and chips sausage and chips, mushy peas and curry sauce and it was only £31 which for what we got I thought was brilliant. The staff were wonderful and we stayed and ate in. The fish was so meaty and not pathetic and thin, chips were hot and crispy and the batter was golden and crunchy. We were then told it was gluten free. Usually I come away from fish and chips bloated but not on this occasion. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you!!

Whilst on holiday a local resident happened to recommend Ben's Plaice so decided to give it a try. Well we were definitely not disappointed! Fabulous fish and chips. Generous portions and very reasonable priced. Staff very friendly.

Food was nice, Never been before as only here for a few days, certainly more expensive than chippies from up north.. HOWEVER the haddock was amazing and it wasn’t battered as I know it, this was very very nice indeed. Also strangely sold cakes and alcohol as well.

Please ignore any bad reviews, there should not be any. Ben and his team are so careful about quality and quantity. They are the best fish and chip shop I have ever been to and I have travelled everywhere, including up north. This is by far the best fish and chip shop and the owner is proud of the quality of food they produce and so they should be. You can pay 18 pounds for a large cod and chips in many of the other towns in this area and then you might understand why Ben's plaice is head and shoulders above all of them. And not just the local ones. I used to live in Poole Quay in Dorset (home to the best fish) and Ben gives all the fish and chip shops up there a run for their money. His food is outstanding, and don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Ben, you are a legend. We love your food! I can't go to any other fish and chip shops, thanks to your fish and chips. Ruined for me because yours are that much better. I wouldn't waste my money anywhere else.

Ive had to wait and wait and wait, to try Ben's Plaice all the while seeing fantastic reviews since it opened (i live "up country") due to covid, money etc Well what can i say The quality of the food and the service were exemplary considering the queue the speed of their system made it look effortless considering its cooked to order when we paid the ticket being served was No:2 we were No:12...it took less than 10minutes for our order to arrive Ok for those coming to Ben's...yes to some the portions maybe small for the price, however as ive said above you are paying for the quality todays fish for instance not frozen for 6 weeks. Crisp batter, crisp chips etc I honestly cannot recommend ben's plaice any more than i have. When in looe you would be a fool not to try it

If this doesn’t win Best Cornwall Chippy this year it will have been robbed. Can tell they use quality suppliers. Always friendly. The fish is beautiful, properly fresh and white. The chicken ginger wrap is fresh, plentiful and full of flavour. Sometimes there is a wait, but it’s because it’s cooked fresh. Phone ahead if it bothers you.

By far the best fish and chips in Looe! Friendly staff, great and fresh produce, easy to order, and many options for mains and sides.

I honestly didn't know that fish and chips could be this good. Light and crispy batter, wonderful and creative range of options and specials, and the brownies are sensational. Apparently this is Cornwall's 2nd best chippy, which is surprising because I can't imagine how anything could be better! Absolutely incredible.

Opted to eat at one of their tables rather than take it home. Staff very friendly and helpful, food AMAZING. Apparently the second best fish and chips in Cornwall, but I do struggle to see how it could be beat. Our veggie and fish averse children also found plenty to choose from.

Scrummy food, plenty of choice and lots of little specials makes it stand out. We were just passing and fancied some fish and chips and boy we were not disappointed. Deffo one to try. Lost 1 star as the fish as a bit smaller than I usually have but very tasty all the same.

I went to get Fish and chips yesterday, I had never been aware that there was a chip shop there before! Looks as though that was my loss. The food we had last night was perfect, we had a large cod and chips between us, my wife and I. Feeling a little bit naughty today, I’ve decided to go again ‘Tonight’, the gallery burgers look too good to pass, I’ll let you know what transpires!

Great food, great service. Very busy, clearly popular. Called ahead with my order so only waited a few minutes. Also a bonus that they are located just outside Looe centre so no issues with parking. Win win.

Had fish & chips for the first time from Bens plaice whilst on holiday. Most say one of the best fish & chips we've had. Lovely chips and nice sized fish at reasonable price. Highly recommended.

We decided fish and chips was a perfect end to a loverly day. We have stayed in looe over the years but have never tried this chippy until today. The food was fantastic!!. The Cod was one of the best I have ever had. Crispy batter and flakey fish. Even our 10 month old tucked in. Worth every penny and will try and visit again before the end of our holiday.
