Very nice restaurant excellent staff very friendly. The atmosphere is amazing made to look old fashioned and pirate like. I had the beef carvery it was excellent. However there was no traditional pudding like apple pie etc and I had to get a pasty as I was still hungry.
A perfect evening.
Honestly the best meal I’ve had this year. We found this place by happy accident. The food was outstanding and plentiful. The staff were attentive and friendly. Would love to visit again. I had the mackerel pate and the mussels in samphire and chorizo! My husband have the filet steak which he said melted in his mouth! If you’re in Looe, get yourself down here for a fantastic meal.
We visited while on our honeymoon. The food was very nice and priced similar to other local restaurants in Looe. Loved the quirky decor and setting and the service was very good. Would return if ever back in Looe again.
My wife and I came in for Sunday lunch and it was all perfect, did not disappoint. Wasn't technically a carvery as food was bought to us but we didnt mind. Service was excellent, ambience was great and we were sat directly below timber beams from the armada. Roast beef was cooked perfectly, plenty of veg for 2 and they even bought out extra gravy without us asking. Lots of condiments on the table, perfect!
This restaurant is fantastic, the steak was very well cooked and the chips were lovely, I absolutely love the atmosphere here, came here with my girlfriend and will be back again next time we're in Cornwall.
We were very lucky to get a table here on a busy Sunday lunchtime. The staff were very accommodating for 2 adults and a young child. We had the roast dinners which were absolutely delicious! Very generous with the sides and gravy portion. We also shared a dessert which was great too! Would highly recommend :)
Snug and charming little place, excellent food and great service!
Though I did get a medium-welldone rather than the medium rare I ordered , the meat and seasoning were very good, potatoes tasty and snap peas crunchy!
Our waiter Rob was very friendly, attentive and sweet.
Would definitely recommended and come back!
Food was truly exceptional. Quiet venue, perfect if you want to chill and have a conversation in between courses. Staff were attentive but not "on your case". There is a large selection of GF dishes too. And the history of the place is fascinating. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Wonderful restaurant. Very friendly staff. Good choice of food. According to history at the back of the menu, it is built from salvaged timber from the Armada. There's even a wheel from a ship on the ceiling. Narrow stairs, low ceilings all add to the atmosphere. Highly recommend this place.
Absolutely fabulous food! Make sure you book. Many people were turned away as fully booked. Cannot fault food or service.
A nice historic restaurant in the centre of Looe with good quality, reasonably priced food. The staff were very friendly and we had an enjoyable dinner. Just be aware that you have to park out of town and walk in, it takes about 10 minutes. Plus, parking is expensive. Over £6 for an hour and a half was a bit steep.
Lovely roast, best turkey ever just needed some cranberry sauce 😋
Absolutely fantastic welcoming environment, food was amazing from starters through to dessert. We visited on an evening whilst they were a chef down and we wouldn’t have known if they hadn’t told us. Fish soup starter was amazing, all steaks cooked to perfection and there was a good choice of desserts. My only one gripe would be the limited choice of white wines to accompany so many fantastic fish options but I certainly wouldn’t give anything other than 5 stars.
The restaurant is in a lovely setting, the food is amazing and very friendly staff. Very cute inside and well preserved place. You'll have to visit and see for yourself. I definitely would recommend. Very good prices for the roast, We had to book the table in advance by phone, which was hustle free. I can't complain
Really good food the best Sunday roast ever. The Sea Bass was equally good.
Quite small place but the attention detail made it feel like it was just you in room.
Arguably the best restaurant in Looe. Quality food presented well. The two servers we had were also great, we (me and my Mrs) never had to call them over for anything and we were greeted with a smile when we arrived. Some reviews saying this restaurant is expensive, what people need to understand is this is not a chain pub/restaurant, it serves quality fresh well cook and presented food. If you want cheap go to nandos. We both had 3 courses (I had the most expensive meal on the menu) and 3 alcoholic drinks each and the bill was £101 which I think for the quality is reasonable. Very good experience, we will be coming back.
