Stopped by for dinner with the family around 18:00 midweek. Initially put off staying to have a meal by a number of very loud and unnecessarily foul mouthed locals at the bar (polite tip for landlord, you need to address this if your seeking to attract families). Decided to give it a go anyway. The food did not disappoint, quality was good and portion size was excellent π and at a reasonable price. Landlord/chef came around to check diners were happy which was a nice touch, well done chef, keep up the good work π, cheers π» The pub also offers b&b at reasonable rates and assume the breakfasts are as good as the dinners.
Went out expecting your average pub grub and was blown away with easily the best burger Iβve ever had. Amazing value for money. Lovely service, and the owners should be proud to have members of staff like Emily, who prepared mine and my partners meals
Very friendly and help staff and management. Food, drinks and accommodation all great value and priced just right. Would highly recommend if you are visiting the forest.
Room was very adequate for a short stay clean & tidy just a small problem with shower in room 2 trying to turn temperature down was a little difficult other than that no other complaint food in the pub was delicious staff were very attentive & welcoming
Really nice food at good prices. If you're eating, bring your appetite. Spacious, and comfortable, with friendly staff.

Had a meal here. It was good with generous helpings. We were overcharged for drinks we never had, but I didn't realise until about 3hrs later.
Lovely pub/b&b clean and up together rooms bed was really comfortable and food was absolutely lovely had a chat with chef and could really tell how passionate he was about his food spot on only one thing I could say was maby put bottles of water in rooms had water from sink probably should have brought my own.over all perfect stay and perfect pub.

Came here on the off chance for a quick meal, the food was exquisite and the staff/owners really friendly. Best steak Iv had in a long time and the sausage/mash bowl gorgeous as well. Thank you and see you soon.

Found this place on route to somewhere so no idea of the rooms or the location but i can say the service was great. Theyβre a friendly bunch and made us feel at home.
Lovely place, great people and the best breakfast menu I've seen in a while, in fact all the food is a cut above your regular pub fare . Theresa and her team understand hospitality and the relaxed welcoming atmosphere is spot on. Thankyou to Hank, Helen and all the rest of the team, can't wait to be back for a return stay.

BIKER FRIENDLY - One of those gems that you happen across from time to time. Between booking and staying the pub had changed hands but such was the level of service you would never have known.
Our accommodation was excellent as was the warmth of the welcome. Plenty of parking and we could park our motorcycles in a secure area which was appreciated.
The food and ales here were first class and we did not feel the need to eat anywhere else. Highly recommended.
Room was great, spacious and extremely clean. Bed was super comfy, only problem was the blinds weren't blackout and no curtains so as soon as the sun came up it was streaming through the window waking us up. Food in the Inn is really good and staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again.
Stopped here by chance , we were lost on a motorcycle ride out.

Excellent food. A group of us went for a meal and we will be back. That was the best 16oz rump steak I have ever had. Oh nearly forgot so was the pudding!
Very friendly staff and the three different steaks we had were all cooked very well. My husband and I enjoyed ours with salad while our son had chips .
