Friendly staff/place , lovely home cooked food & breakfast all locally sourced. Only pub in the village that is open, nice village with nice views only downside is pub is on a busy noisy main road, trucks /cars passing all day /night , which you will hear In room 5. Rooms clean & Fresh , TV signal good, WiFi okay. Shower very powerful, which was great.

Old school boozer doing the two things right. Good cask beer and great large portions of pub food. Lovely staff too

Stayed over a few months back. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was lovely and portions were good. I had to leave early in the morning so the staff arranged a pack up lunch for me in place of the breakfast. Staff were friendly and happy to help where they can. Only downside is that the Wi-Fi was intermittent in the bedroom. Would definitely stay again.

Enjoyed a short 2 night stay here. Accommodation is really good comfortable, clean, the macerator toilet with a mind of its own was a bit of but not noisy enough to be a problem. The pub is a bit tired but staff are mostly happy hard working and the beers are good we did the quiz on Friday, great fun if somewhat complicated. Food is good.

Had a lovely meal sat near the fire. Both had generous portions, was a good varied menu,I had a vegetarian option, pepper and bean pie with a lovely side salad, my partner had a chicken dish with a good varied selection of vegetables, he then followed up with a large sherry trifle, think half the bottle had gone in! He thoroughly enjoyed it. Will go again before our holiday ends. Dog friendly too, will take ours next time. Relaxed pub. Friendly staff.

At very very short notice we needed to book in here. It was past their food orders time. And didn't have a room prepared. But within about 20 mins the room was ready and they put on a great meal for us. Just so helpful and friendly. Great place.. thoroughly recommended.

I stayed here last Saturday evening for an overnight stay to meet with friends in Settle. I booked on the Friday and got a really good deal. When I arrived I wanted to take a taxi almost immediately to meet with my friends, but was told that unless they are pre-booked there is not much chance of getting one. So one of the bar staff drove me 3 milestone to meet with my friends without charge. I returned just before midnight & enjoyed the residents bar, and mingled with the local residents, and stayed up chatting to some lovely people including the very friendly landlord. The rooms were very comfortable with everything I needed, and the breakfast the next morning was really nice, and the lady who served me was so accommodating. So it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and I would definitely return.

Our ( short stay ) was only marred by the fact there was so much food on our plates. Our appetites could not fit a sweet in our stomachs. Joe was an excellent host, full of stories of his Rugby playing years. Spacious restaurant. Menu for most tastes. A place we will most certainly make many more visits to. Thankyou Joe!

Overall I would recommend the Boars Head as a place to go to eat. It's got plenty of variety on the menu plus several specials to choose from. We were a large group (12 people), all of the food came out together, hot and tasty. Well presented and generous portions. Very friendly, professional staff. Not quite "haute cuisine", but an enjoyable evening with good food. Recommend

A good menu. Our group had four different meals, all excellent. Really enjoyed the food. Tables well spaced. Will definitely be back!
