Rooms were booked by my son , for my wife and myself , and son , we arrived early and were very kindly allowed access to our rooms early , as we had to change to attend a funeral. A special thanks to Holly and the manager, who went over and above , the accommodation was of a very good standard, and I without reservation would totally recommend a stay .
Thank you once again , and if visiting suffolk again , we will certainly be staying with you .

Booked for an evening meal, was lovely, food was prompt, tasty and well presented. I have to say that the young lady that served us was so nice attentive and pleasant, a definite credit to the staff.
Had a lovely meal, sea bass and sirloin steak was delicious, shared a tasty jam sponge. Staff were pleasant and accomadating, would definitely go vack
We were here celebrating a friends 40th birthday. The food was good, the room was lovely but the staff made it so much better! It felt like a home from home, would happily visit again!
we stopped there for a weekend break. the whole experience from check in to check out was excellent.
the room was clean and adequate, the food and service was quick and well presented, the price was reasonable and the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasure.
the karaoke on the friday night wasnt a problem and although there was a little bit of noise from people leaving at the end of the night, they dispersed quite quickly.
the building being old has a few quirks but it is what it is.
we would definitely stay there again and recommend it as a place to stay.
Haven't been in many years and went for a wake. The catering was excellent and seemed everyone was catered for. Bar service was good. Smoking area out the front and back and the sun was out so that added to ambience.

OK for the money, small room and quite noisy from bar music. Nice old building and good breakfast. Easy car parking and easy to find
Ample parking space all nearby. First time visiting and the service and staff were all professional and friendly. We had the Sunday carvery and it was exceptional. Would recommend 👌
Left standing at reception walked by me a few times tryed to get there attention felt blanked then finally I think the owner seen me standing there and sorted out the room for me
We stayed as a group overnight in the George and Dragon on New Year's Eve and had a wonderful night. This lovely wooden beamed traditional English pub is full of charm and a warm and friendly atmosphere. This is down to it's wonderful staff who are so friendly and accommodating, and the awesome husband and wife duo who run it all (plus some lovely locals too!) They really made us feel so welcome and the room was beautiful; spacious and clean, with comfy beds and everything you could want from a hotel room! Will definitely come again. Would recommend to anyone wishing to spend some time in the superb historic village of Long Melford (lots to see and do!). It won't break the bank and you will be looked after in lovely surroundings.
Had a lovely brunch here today - good food, great service, welcoming atmosphere! Will be back 😊

A big, huge thank you to all the staff at the George & Dragon. I can not thank you enough and wanted to let people know; you went far and beyond the call. My partner and I stayed at the hotel last week for two nights, when we checked out on the Saturday, I stupidly left behind my prescription sunglasses. These are no ordinary sunglasses, the frames belonged to my mother who sadly passed away in November last year. I decided to keep them as a memento of her, I had them made up for me, so she would always be with me.
When we got home to Kent on Saturday afternoon, I realised I had left them ‘somewhere’, I was hoping it was at the hotel. I rang and spoke to Usef who immediately went to check – yes, they had been found. I said I would ring back on Monday to arrange postage; Usef assured me the glasses would be kept in a safe place until then.
I rang on the Monday and arranged everything with Taylor, the manager. They have now arrived safe and sound. I am so grateful; the phone call from Taylor to tell me the glasses had been posted was thoughtful and very kind.
We had a lovely stay at the George & Dragon and enjoyed the karaoke on Friday evening, but I did make a few suggestions when we left, Room 14 was clean and tidy, but it really needs a bigger TV and some tea bags. We will be visiting again!

We held my Dad’s wake here - Charlie and the team were great - bent over backwards to make everything as easy as possible.
Rooms are a good size. Food (buffet) was good, great selection and reasonably priced. Very friendly team. Went above and beyond.
Highly recommend.
