Great pub, perfect place to come after a nice walk along the canal; dog friendly too is a massive bonus. The food is great and reasonably priced, the steak and ale pie was awesome with melt in the mouth meat! Highly recommended for its friendly staff, nice atmosphere and awesome food πŸ‘

Absolutely fantastic, the staff were very freindly, the food was excellent, we went back 3 times during our weeks holiday, close by. The pub is dog friendly and at the side of the grand Union canal, what a fantastic setting on what has been the hottest week of the year so far!

Had a really nice meal and a couple of beers. Nice people and nice food. We have not been there for years as it went down hill when a new landlord took over. We will defiantly be back now, could not fault it.

We love this traditional pub. We went again on Sunday before we took our dog for a walk along the canal towpath, we eat before we walk as the portions are so good you need to walk it off πŸ™‚. I had the chicken Sunday dinner πŸ˜‹ and my husband and daughter had other food from the menu, and there is plenty to choose from. We also asked if they could do a doggy dinner with a bit of bacon and a sausage for the dog and they were happy to, we were amazed when it came out 2 rashers and 3 sausages, to say our dog was happy was an understatement, there was that much we asked them to wrap it up and we took it for his treats on the walk. All I will say is you must visit here if you are in the area, either just out walking or on the canal on a boat, the staff are always friendly and the location is great and the pub is warm and welcoming, we will be back soon πŸ™‚

We recently visited The 2 Boats with our family from a canal boat holiday. We visited in 2010 when our kids were much smaller and were so impressed we wanted to come back again in Oct 2023. What a lovely place! The food was excellent, Emma the bar lady was so friendly and helpful and the pub has kept its pub like atmosphere which is rare now. Most of the other pubs we visited were boutique type places that looked like an Ikea restaurant. A pub should look like a pub and we were not disappointed! Please keep this pub the same- its a GEM! thank you for a great experience!

We stayed at a campsite along the canal from the Two Boats but the pub there didn't allow dogs so we went to the Two Boats instead and glad we did. We enjoyed a top notch gammon steak and chips (two eggs) alongside chicken strips with a very hearty salad. The bar was well stocked for all tastes and the ale was very well kept. Staff were beyond welcoming, just so friendly and accommodating. It had the feel of a really decent, no nonsense country pub. Couldn't recommend more.

Outstanding fish and chips, which so many places do indifferently it's really nice to see someone really putting some thought into it! Other dishes also prepared with care. Lovely location by the canal helps, as do a few nice localish cask ales.

Nice place, especially to sit outside overlooking the canal. Good choice of food. Unfortunately our halloumi was stone cold bit staff immediately apologised and replaced it. Otherwise very good.
