Myself and my hubby come here often and we think it's wonderful. The staff, the chef , the landlord and the locals are lovely and you are always made welcome. The food is lovely and reasonably priced too. We had to wait a long time once due to an error (it happens they're only human) and the landlord paid for our drinks for our stay , the chef came out apologised and asked us if we still wanted our meal or would like an alternative etc and the barmaid came up to us and gave us a voucher for our next meal.... they didn't have to do that! We only asked about our meal as other customers had been and gone and we were sat there...we were happy to wait but, they went out of their way to try make our visit the best it could be so, I'm writing this to show how brilliant their customer service was!! The steamboat Inn is a great place for a meal and we'll continue to come here and next time might even bring one of my dogs as it's dog friendly . So if you're on the river with your dog and you fancy a bite to eat and a pint then, the Steamboat Inn is the place to go.

My wife and I had our wedding party here last night. Natalie (Landlady) and all the staff did a great job looking after us. The food was nice, the drinks selection was good and the staff were well organised and were very attentive. Consider this place for parties because we are glad we did :) . Location was great for photos and pleasant by the water. Couldn't be happier really. Thank you guys for helping to make our wedding day so enjoyable; you were great.

Not been to Trent Lock for a few years so decided to pay a return trip to walk my friend Zero (Collie). After our walk called in at The Steamboat for a drink and a breather. I found the bar staff to be helpful and friendly the bar was stocked with a good selection of bottled and Draught beers and I was supplied with a nice bowl of fresh cold water, excellent will be paying another visit very soon.

We didn't eat here but of what food I saw it looked good. The service was excellent and plenty of locals made the atmosphere welcoming. Dogs are allowed with plenty of outside seating. As you can see from photos some unusual guests inside.

Nice place to stop and have a drink. The pub is just as interesting inside as it is outside. Wonderful watching boats go through the lock, or doing inside and seeing the interesting decor. They welcome well behaved dogs too.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Great location at Trent Lock on the Erewash canal. Quirky, interesting historic pub, welcoming friendly staff. Real ales, great value, generous proportioned food, choice of pork, beef, lamb or vegetarian. Well worth a visit. If you have mobility needs, check ahead, regular parking is a short walk away, but it is possible to drop off outside. The pub is accessible via a ramp.

A lovely little pub tucked away to the side of the canal where we had moored up. We had been travelling all day and was eager to eat but The Steamboat had stopped serving food ( it was after 8pm ) the landlord was most accommodating and allowed us to grab a take out and eat it there and even provided us with plates! You just dont get that kind of service every day and we were really grateful. Thank you to all at The steamboat for going above and beyond it was greatly appreciated and we will be back!

Popped for a drink sadly no food available at the time we went. Ace pub for being different with a carousel horse hung from the ceiling, a dalek sat in the corner and a very old motorbike and a Sinclaire C5 car (if you remember them lol) very query but lots to see 😊😊
