Lovely village pub. Food superb. Excellent value, nice welcome... Pay a visit, you are not be disappointed. 👍
Quaint little pub, lovely spot, good staff and dog friendly too. Nice little garden area for a summer drink, and cosy enough inside for a winter pint. Highly recommended and worth a visit
Brilliant to have this wonderful pub back open. Went for Sunday lunch and the food was exceptional. Our table ordered a mix of beef, pork and fish/chips - all was outstanding and reasonably priced for eating out these days and the quality presented. Thank you for taking the chance and reopening.
We had a lovely lunch here today in such a lovely village setting, the food was delicious, we sat in the garden which was lovely and peaceful. Great service from a lovely couple. Definitely would recommend a visit and I will be revisiting.
Great pub, good food and very welcoming owners. Highly recommend it!
This 17th century inn was originally called the five bells untill the church added 3 more bells in the tower so changed its name to its current 8 bells in 1771. Entrance to the front of the pub is a challenge for the less able but you can access the pub and carpark from chearsley road. Where there are just 2 smaller steps down to the bar inside the pub.
We received a warm welcome and ordered the scampi and fish and chips from the comprehensive menu. They did give an option for half portions which was a nice touch as you don't always want a large meal in the middle of the day. Needless to say we went for the full portions!
When the food first arrived I thought the scampi portion was a little on the small size imo however everything was well cooked including the chips which where nice and crisp. Peas also tasted nice and fresh and not over cooked. See pic
The person I was with had the fish and chips, a decent portion which had nice crisp thin batter and crisp chips. She had opted to go for the peas rather than mushy peas which they where happy to substitute. See pic
A minor thing, but I appreciated the fact that you actually get a ketchup bottle rather than a tiny thimble of condiment, so commonly given out now in quite a few pubs I visit!
Over all I would highly recommend this pub. Lovely old building full of character a warm welcome and great pub food! There is also a pub garden at the rear for Al fresco dining.
It's a really nice pub. The food and service were fantastic. I would definitely recommend The Eight Bells in Long Crendon.
This 16th century pub is the perfect visit for a pint when in Long Crendon. Babs is a superstar host and the venue is warm and welcoming. The ales are kept well and in good condition. The village itself is lovely and the pub is a 'must visit' establishment.
Love this place for Friday night. Good food and easy atmosphere. Good hosts
Wonderful to have the 8 Bells back! The food was outstanding and the service excellent. We shall be back! Highly recommended 👌
Stunning food, great portion sizes, fantastic service and an absolutely lovely setting. Had a fabulous meal here with my wife and friends one Saturday evening and couldn't fault it at all.
Real lovely local pub with excellent service and food, excellent value. The pub itself is really cosy and welcoming inside. Highly recommend.
Perfect food, nice service, fantastic atmosphere, highly recommend!!!
Cracking roast dinner. See you again soon.
Only had the Sunday roast which was very nice
Lovely staff and the buffet for the wake was lovely, thank you x
Such a lovely, friendly, well kept pub. The food is incredible, well judged prone and all round satisfying, and reasonably priced, especially for the area. The beer selection has really been thought about, there's something for everyone, but not just the usual lineup. I'm really impressed, and I used to run bars and am probably a bit unfairly harsh usually.
Great to see this lovely old pub open again.
