Reviews The Crossing Barnes

First time visiting and popped in for a swift pint. Upon entering I completely missed the wall of beer taps and thought they only had 1 draught lager but the bar man kindly pointed out the obvious wall of taps !... I opted for a pint of Amstel which was a tad expensive compared to other pubs but it's common when the pub is pristine and in a nice area. The pub as mentioned was pristine, clean and had a nice quiet atmosphere for a Monday afternoon. I suspect this is popular with locals and gets busy in evenings and weekends. Outside was an awesome walled garden with pizza oven and from looking at the menu and other reviews I will eat here one day ! I had a look around and upstairs has a function room with private bar which I assume can be hired for any occasion. Got a few pics please take a look and pop in if you're thirsty! 4* for slightly higher than avg £ for a pint of Amstel imo and my dog wasn't offered a water bowl but when locals came in one was taken to them personally (not sure if it was asked for, but nice touch would of been to be offered)

Had a burger recently on a Thursday night with friends. Atmosphere was great as the pub was quite busy as had an event with another local business. The burger was delicious - the friendly staff asked how I wanted it cooked which is always a good start. The chips that come with the burger were cooked to perfection and it was a great eating experience overall. Smiley staff added to the fab evening and I will definitely be back to try out the pizza oven. It's great to see a flourishing independent pub in Barnes.

I have watched this place transform, as have known the building for most of it's reincarnations. I have eaten here a few times but have been taking my time to get an overall experience on different days. I congratulate them on the transformation, fabulous outdoor garden, it would be perfect for a large party, and has two outdoor bars. Food has been spot on. The other few times l have brought guests here and they have also been impressed by the quality of the food. It has a pleasant atmosphere, and like most popular places it can get busy. There is seating out front. I haven't yet checked up stairs, but am sure l will.

Lovely pub/restaurant, really got the balance down between cool pub and chique restaurant. They have a nice beergarden in the back too. Food was amazing! Cooked perfectly! Staff was lovely and helpful, the owner was there too, who was super welcoming. There's not many independent places left in London so it's great to see it in good hands, you can really feel the personal touch. Will come back for their jazz night!

Came here for Sunday lunch and loved it. Friendly service and a really nice atmosphere. Had the croquettes which were completely delicious (they are a must!), then the lamb which was melt in the mouth. Really high quality food and good sized portions. We'll be back!!

Had a lovely sunny lunch here - sat outside the front of the pub but they also have a nice garden area in the back. The burger I ordered was tasty but my husband’s lamb was even better. Inside the pub had a great vibe too so will be back rain or shine!

Not your usual pub, the quality, service and food was amazing. But also the decor and the design looks very good. It was easy to find parking on the streets next to the pub. They had a chocolate pudding that wasn't due to ready until the next day, however the chef managed to get us all a piece, which was amazing.

Absolutely gorgeous pub, great food that doesn't feel like you're dining in a pub with a nice Italian touch on the menu, a real foodie destination "worth the detour" in this quaint little London "village" by the river, good beer and the garden out back is really lovely. Must go back to try their Sunday Roast though.

The Crossing is absolutely fantastic. I have organized multiple events there and I just keep coming back because I can’t fault it whatsoever. Christian the owner is so accommodating and helpful, the team are warm, the food is great, the location is wonderful. If I could give Christian and The Crossing 6 stars I would.

My favorite pub in the area, knowledgeable staff, amazing food and wine list, lovely beer garden. This is not your average pub. Fine dining meets your local pub.

Their focus is their meat and fish - roast meats, fried fish and slow cooked ragus we’re great, though the whole table felt the vegetables included with the meals were a little sparse

This place is AMAZING. The best pasta I had in a long time (not only for the fresh British truffles but the pasta themselves were insane!) and also special mention for the croquetas. The wine list is beautifully curated and the cocktails on point! The cherry on the top? The super nice and welcoming staff :) Recommend 100%!
