Sensational food - easily the best tapas I've had in London. Possibly even better than I've had in Spain.
I think there was just one thing on the menu that I didn't want to order...the choice was too good.
The potato salad with confit tuna belly was just exceptionally gorgeous, creamy and a real delight. Also I loved the prawn fritters and the aioli they came with.
Service was really good too - though they could have thrown the food at me and told me I'm ugly, and I still would have loved it here.
Delicious selection of tapas. We had the mint with peas, octopus and our favourite, the lamp cutlets. Maybe a bit too much sauce with the peas and octopus, but that didn’t matter too much.
Desserts, tasty.
Great service.
My absolute fave restaurant in London - big, juicy, orangey olives; inventive cheese & caper salad; melt in the mouth jamon; and of course - impeccable pan con tomate that I could happily eat every day for the rest of my life if I had the cash to. Highly recommend for a boozy lunch in the centre of town
This place oozes charm, elegance and comfort. And by osmosis you are guaranteed to feel charming, elegant, and comfortable yourself. The massive ceilings, the large windows that inundate the room with light, and the beautiful decor create a very pleasing setting… a perfect casing for the treasure discovery that is the food. The spicy prawn fritters, cheese toast with honey, slow cooked Aubergines, and decadent pecan tart, are absolutely succulent, and all very likely to draw a few moans here and there.
Classy setting in the Senate room. Enthusiastic service and interesting range of Spanish quick bites. Excellent cheese board. Wine menu well chosen. Disappointing Basque cheesecake.
Amazing authentic food- I am vegetarian but was told the ham was amazing! The tomato bread and lentil salad was also delicious. Decent price for the quality of food and pretty good portion sizes. Also even though it was quite busy the service was rather fast.
Will definitely come back here again if given the chance.
Most fantastic lunch. Couldn't have been made to feel more special, the service is impeccable. The food incredible. The setting stunning. Muy muy bien. A wonderful experience that will be remembered. Will definitely go again.
Amazing place, delicious food, warm people, very good service!
Absolutely fab, food is top notch in a lovely setting. Very relaxed but attentive service. Hope it stays P.S Cheesecake is amazing!!!
Fantastic food, lovely staff! Made a lovely day out even better.
Lovely tapas especially the chorizo and the pork. Nice environment and service.
I had my first visit to Pizarro at the Royal Academy yesterday and had a wonderful lunch. From being greeted by the lovely host and being looked after by the equally lovely waitress, whose help and knowledge really made the experience fabulous, all added up to a lovely time. The restaurant is bright and airy with a relaxed modern feeling. The tapas both cold and warm were absolutely delicious, perfect for lunch and the wine recommended by our waitress was perfect. Very much looking forward to my next visit !
I believe being able to brunch at such prestigious places as the Royal Academy is part of the magic of London, and the stardust for me was being able to experience this with one of my favourite foods. I confess I had to Google Jose Pizarro, and the reference to him as 'the Godfather' of Spanish tapas I feel is perhaps a bit generous. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the food, and a great wine list too. Within a cosy, intimate, and at the same time buzzing ambience I found numerous dishes on the menu I would have gladly devoured had good sense not taken over. With both vegetarian and meat eaters at the table we found everyone enjoyed their food and left satisfied. Perfect spot for a catch-up, taking parents out for brunch, or an artistic second date - I would happily return.
We ate here yesterday - the waiver who served us was totally charming and all dishes we chose were well cooked and tasty. Top marks for the chilled oloroso we had while perusing the menu. I didn't much care for the high ceiling and pillars which, though palatial, didn't add to the ambiance at all making the place too open and noisy. Great place and food for lunch with friends - but definitely not for romance.
A wonderful treat after visiting the Spanish expedition. Delicious tapas washed down with a glass or two of rueda. Thank you to José and your charming team
