A nice if pricey spot for upscaled Ukrainian food. I am not a huge fan of Eastern European cuisine but was excited to try Ukrainian food for the first time. Some of the dishes was super yummy - the borsch, varenyky, chicken Kyiv, and honey cake were great, and the cocktail menu is fun and innovative. That said, almost every dish had a fault that stopped it one step short of excellence - the salted fish and rösti dish was too salty, the sorbet in the tomato salad too icy, and the chicken Kyiv needed a touch more sauce. Service was likewise inconsistent - one of our servers was delightful, happy to recommend dishes, and attentive; the other was unsmiling, silent, and didn’t pay any attention to us at all. Combined with a very hefty check at the end, it left us with a slightly bitter taste in our mouths; it just didn’t feel special enough for what we paid. That said, if you’re a fan of Ukrainian food and want to try a modern take on it, I definitely recommend Mriya. And it’s always great to support an independent Ukrainian business in these trying times!

We had a lovely evening of great food, nice wine, and excellent service. It is the first time I have had a high end Ukrainian meal, but I have fond memories of my mum's and Baba's (grandma) home made Ukrainian food. This was certainly different from those simple meals and it was thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. The 'Odessa Black' wine was full bodied and tasty, the varenyky dumplings were beautifully made and presented, and the beef cheek stew was tender and lightly spiced. Highly recommended for something a bit different and a pleasant evening.

If you’ve never had any version of Ukrainian food, check Mriya out. Upscale Ukrainian food with a great atmosphere both inside and out. The servers are attentive and provide great recommendations. The borsch is my favorite, simple yet intricate. Better than my mamas and my babas, but I won’t tell them. Thank you for a wonderful experience every since time.

This was our first time in London and we decided to cap off our trip with a dinner here. It was easily one of the best meals we had on our trip! Traditional and modernized Ukrainian cuisine. The borshch and the duck varenyky are excellent, as are the seasonal cherry varenyky for dessert.

As a Russian I didn’t know if I would be welcomed there and if I would be comfortable—I get anxious and fill up myself with guilt anytime I meet a Ukrainian. I planned to speak only English but was uncovered when I pronounced the menu items. Surprisingly the waitress switched to Russian and was very kind to explain me the menu. The food was excellent, by far the best Eastern European restaurant in London; however, I can only compare to Russian and Polish restaurants. The Apple dessert (on the pic) is a must try!

Nice Ukrainian restaurant. The food is tasty. Staff extremely friendly. Serving quick. Atmosphere good, with ukrainian music playing. There are several rooms to seat, including outdoors and basement. Portions pretty small, and really expensive.

Ok, food was absolutely delicious, I can't complain, but the portions are quite small for the price. I know the area is snobby and all that ,but I'm not sure if it's worth spending about £30 pounds a person without even a glass of beer. Anyway, all in all the food was very tasty.

The place is amazing in every way! My family roots are from Ukraine and this was the second best borsch in the world after the one my mother made! Everything is very authentic without being off-puttingly so. The food is as beautiful as it is delicious. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but is well worth seeking out. The servers are very professional and nice. Impeccable service! Lovely atmosphere. Perfect for a casual lunch but also special occasion worthy. Not cheap but it helps Ukrainian refugees (which all the staff are) so money well spent.

Delicious and excellent food. We were taken here by our lovely and generous Ukrainian guest family just before they moved into their own flat. We’ve developed a taste for the wonderful and varied cuisine of this brave and cultured country. It was great to taste real chicken Kyiv. Very different from the awful chicken Kiev we used to have in pubs in the UK when in was a child!

It's a great place for Ukrainians as it will bring them memories of home. Dishes presentation is nice, however the taste still needs to be worked on - foreign guests who tried Ukrainian cuisine for the first time were not so impressed which is upsetting as Ukraine has some delicious things to offer. Some Dishes were way too salty, others a bit tasteless. Borsch was the best dish from all we tasted. Desserts menu should be worked on too - very poor choice and not all of them were available on the day. Attentive and polite staff, nice decoration.

I had the most delightful experience at Mriya. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a beautiful interior that set the perfect atmosphere for a memorable meal. The young and friendly staff made me feel incredibly welcome, and their attentive service added to the overall positive experience. The Ukrainian wine selection was impressive and added an authentic touch to the dining experience. What truly stood out was the amazing music that enhanced the ambiance and made the evening feel even more special. And speaking of special, the Kyiv cake they offer is an absolute must-try! The staff's reaction to my son enjoying the cake was priceless - they couldn't help but smile at his delight. This place is undoubtedly child-friendly and it's evident that they genuinely care about their customers. It's clear that Mriya goes above and beyond to provide a top-notch dining experience. The effort they put into their food, service, and atmosphere truly shines through. I highly recommend Mriya to anyone looking for a wonderful culinary journey with a touch of Ukrainian hospitality. Well done to the team for creating such a fantastic place!

I brought my English friend to try out Ukrainian cuisine for the first time – this was a great decision. Mriya exceeded all of my expectations! The borsch was exactly the same as my grandma used to cook when I was younger, in other words delicious. The chicken Kyiv was cooked to perfection with mashed potatoes & green peas on the side. The service was implacable: friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The server Karina was really sweet. Overall, a great experience, would highly recommend!
