Food here is super delicious and light wasn’t heavy in oil which we really like. Customer service was really good . We had butter chicken, vegetable biryani, samosas chaat and cheese naan’s, all dishes were delicious. The atmosphere is amazing as well.
Restaurant Review
@balhamsocial
.
A very unique and amazing restaurant for Indian cuisine.
Balham Social is a place for modern Indian cuisine. So they present our very regular Indian street food and restaurant food in an extremely crafty and creative way. To start with, the restaurant is just a few steps from the Balham tube station. So extremely well connected. Lovely decor and ambience. Warma and cordial staff.
Their food tastes great. I loved the pav bhaji and railway mutton curry. But their USP is their presentation. The dahipuri came in a small panipuri vendor setup. It was so beautiful to look at.. I was feeling like looking at it only. The pav bhaji came in a beautiful mumbai tiffin carrier. Loved it . Just loved it. The taste is quite authentic but the spices are not too overwhelming for non Indian diners. A great experience which is not too stressful on your pocket. I will be visiting again very soon.

One of the best Indian restaurants I've been too. Delicious meal.. we had the samosas (veggie), okra, garlic naan, rice and the social chicken curry. I will say that the chicken curry was tasty but not the best I've had, however,.the food was great and I'm not lowering my review because the chicken curry didn't meet my expectations it is still a tasty dish. The okra was delicious. I usually don't like okra but my partner loves it so I gave it a go and it was amazing. Everything was perfectly cooked.
Staff very professional and helpful. Restaurant is spotless and decor is very nice. I highly recommend this place and I'm certainly going back to try more of their food. I left happy and feeling that life is good..
What a lovely place! I do struggle to find good Indian restaurants in london and this one is high up there! We went for our anniversary dinner, they were extremely accommodating since my husband is vegan, the food was great! And they even got a cheesecake for us at the end it was lovely!
We got the channa masala, saag and Paneer butter masala along with the vada pav and the mango chana chaat. The chaat was delicious, fresh and tasty. The channa masala is a must try, absolutely transported back to Delhi!
Must have!!
4.5/5. Had the samosa chana chat, bhindi (okra), home style chicken curry, garlic naan, and pulao rice. All full of flavour and not at all oily. Service was polite, food came very quickly and presented well. Decor is lovely. As with most Indian restaurants there is a good choice of vegetarian options on the menu too. Will definitely return.
Flavorful, delightful, creative Indian food in Balham. The actual restaurant is beautifully decorated. This is hands down the best Indian food I’ve had in a very long time. The plates were fresh with greenery, color, texture, and mouth-watering flavors in every bite. The sea bass and it’s curry were truly fantastic - crispy skin, velvety sauce, nuanced flavors. The drinks were also very creative and packed with flavor. I wish I lived closer, I would definitely be a regular. Definitely 10/10 recommend. I had a chocolate somosa which was still the perfect end to a beautiful feast.
We are local to the area and go here quite a bit. Just yesterday at dinner here, we were thinking how lucky we are to have such a great Indian restaurant within walking distance. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in London (yes, London!)..and we are Indian so we can definitely vouch for this.
The atmosphere is wonderful here. Very pretty decor, great for a social environment. Overall, very clean.
Service is always amazing. The staff, especially Harry, are attentive and we never have to wait too long for food or drinks. They always have a smile on their faces.
Where to start with the food, it is so delicious and authentic! We are vegetarian and they have a wide selection of vegetarian starters and mains. The chaats are great and have a unique modern twist on it, without compromising the taste. Other dishes we've tried that are really good are the pav bhaji, paneer butter masala, garlic naan, and don't forget the biryani. They also have a massive drinks selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, some Indian too.
Overall, it's a wonderful place to have a delicious meal along with exceptional service!
For south London, I'm surprised to find a great place for Indian food.
From service to starters and main was amazing, even for the price. Very reasonable.
I recommend the lamb chop, social chicken curry and lamb biryani.
Yet again, Balham Social has re-affirmed that they are they the best curry house in SW London. Unbelievable!!
Ruchit looked after us very well, he’s a world class waiter!
We has a great meal at the Balham Social, a lovely and very popular Indian Restaurant not far from Balham Station. Our party ordered the following starters: Allo Tikki, Grilled Platter, Octopus Platter, Kadai Wings, Amritsari Fish, Seared Scallops. Then for mains we had Kadai Prawns, Chicken Biryani, Garlic Naan, Railway Lamb Curry. All the dishes were great, but the Fish, Prawns, and Lamb Curry really stood out. Great food, great service and good atmosphere 👍.
