I tried my best but I couldn't take pics that did the food justice. Everything we had was stunning and delicious. The flavour combinations were so interesting. Thank you for a great experience, we'll be back!
“Made with Love “ ❤️ From Atmosphere to Reception! Twist of Magic 🪄 FOH and BOH, Amazing!!! So guysss a glimpse of my brunch experience!! Start to Finish! 🔥 Best in Brixton!!, Always will recommend and dinner looks good too! Soon come 🙌🏾
I've come to Wood & Water several times for both Bottomless Brunch and Dinner and I love it! The menu is different, the service is always warm and it's a beautiful space in the heart of Brixton. Some of my favs are the curry goat Croquettes, and the chicken and waffles. Their rum punch at Brunch delivers and their cocktail menu has some of the best cocktails I've had, you have to try the pistachio sour! Their menu is always changing so there's always something to look forward to and my friends and I always have a great time!
We enjoyed our lunch date here. The service was great (one guy doing all the front of house). We went for the bottemless drinks, I had the rum punch, and my partner had prosecco. I found the rum punch a little too sweet, but it did its job.
We shared the chicken and waffles and jamaican breakfast to start and followed up with chefs special red velvet cheesecake (chefs kiss) and French toast. The French toast was a little underwhelming.
I spoke with one of the chefs who's an Arsenal fan like myself, and our server was a Man City fan. He was confident Arsenal would lose, but we won 🥳🤣. So I hope they've had some good banter at work.
Special shout to our server, you were great throughout and were very attentive to your customers.
Listen if you have not tried this spot you haven't enjoyed Brixton. The flavours, the options, the drinks (cough cough) the prices but over all that the FREAKIN GREAT service. I am a bit ashamed I'm in Brixton a good amount of time hosting HIpHOp events right down the block and I have never been in here.
But today was the day and I am glad it was because today Julian was working and I must say hands down hand over heart say if I had a restaurant I would have attempted to poach this guy. His knowledge of the food, finesse in making drinks, suggestions on what to eat the list goes on and on.
He suggested a few meals after asking us what type of foods we like/eat. He said what are the favourites of the restaurant and finishing what he likes.
Note taken food ordered and Badda Boom it was all ridiculous. I even opt out of a bottomless drink option because he sold the experience of the food (not even the food itself).
Left there happy, left there tipsy, left there wanting to come.back...
Need I say more.
Julian I promise I'll be seeing you and wood & water in the near future.
Simply incredible!
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food (we attended for brunch) and tasty cocktails.
Will definitely be returning.
AMAZING food! to die for 🤤 great service and lovely staff - we’ll definitely be back! also they have amazing vegan options.
My sister and I came for Saturday brunch about a week ago {March 11, 2023}, and I must say… I was absolutely astonished! This restaurant is a short walk from Brixton station, situated in a multi-cultural neighborhood. If you need to communicate with the staff beforehand, they answer the phone, and there’s also a chat that they respond quickly to. I accessed it from Google maps.
I researched Black-owned establishments before coming to visit 🏴 and I’m so glad I found Wood & Water. The ambiance, the customer service, the pristine restroom, the exquisite meals and beverages, and the owner herself, Ms. April is very lovely. She checked on everyone to ensure we were enjoying our meals and that everything was alright. Our host, Lee was very kind and friendly as well.
Thank you so much for sharing your culture and representing people of color. We will be back! 💚💛🖤
Lovely little spot for a late Sunday brunch. Mellow atmosphere with good music, great service, and delicious food - we'll definitely be coming back!
Really enjoyed the creative takes on traditional Caribbean food, and even happier to discover the food is delicious. There are few restaurants in Brixton that are beyond compare - this place is one of them. Went for my birthday and the staff were so lovely, and attentive. V natural approach, w/ good knowledge of the menu to cater to my allergies. Will definitely return for the weekend brunch menu!
First trip to Wood & Water and I already can’t wait to return. Staff were super friendly and the restaurant’s interior is beautiful, opulent yet cosy, with a lovely buzz between the bar area and the restaurant area (where I was seated).
I came for Chef Ayo’s residency and he did not disappoint! Each course looked and tasted amazing so it’s really hard to pick a favourite part. The truffle-infused spiced butter was moreish beyond belief, the scallop was cooked to perfection (and I scraped every bit of coconut crème off the plate 😅), the venison was so succulent and everything on the plate alongside it went perfectly together. I genuinely can’t fault any of the dishes, every flavour belonged on the plate! An all round lovely evening, I can’t wait to go back and try the regular menu!
Stumbled upon this place for dinner one weekend and was not expecting much however ended up having a really fantastic evening. Food and cocktails were delicious and very reasonably priced. Some unusual combinations which we were apprehensive about but ended up having to eat our words because everything was great. Menu even managed to entice a vegetarian into eating two goat croquettes. Ambience and service was warm and thoughtful. Definitely recommend
Came here based on the interesting description of British modern cuisine with Jamaican soul and it did not disappoint! Nicely present sharing style dishes with Jamaican twist like salted cod with breadfruit and plantain ketchup 🌟 The classy and candlelit interior and a very interesting and yummy cocktail menu (try the pistachio sour (v)!) make it a perfect spot for a romantic date 🥳
Popped by Wood & Water for Chef Ayo's
residency. The restaurant was buzzing, cosy with a warm atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We were seated with drinks on the table within 15 minutes.
The menu was ambitious, and Chef Ayo surely delivered. We ordered the vegetarian and meat options. The juxtaposition of flavours. The scallops resonated with fresh summertime gardens, blended with smoky sea. The venison packed with favour, succulent with earthy autumn undertones was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed every mouth full from start to finish. The food was beautifully presented, elegant, and excellently executed. Hats off to the Chef.
I recently visited this restaurant and I have to say that my experience was simply incredible. As soon as I walked in, I was seduced by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The place was beautifully decorated, with a modern yet comfortable atmosphere.
I loved the way the chef had managed to incorporate traditional Jamaican ingredients into modern and creative dishes. We can feel the Jamaican roots in these sophisticated dishes. Each dish was a veritable explosion of flavours, with unexpected combinations that awakened my taste buds. For my part, I absolutely adored the asparagus, which was my favourite dish. The service was simply impeccable. The staff were courteous, attentive and very knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks on offer. They took the time to answer all my questions and guide me in my choices. Their passion for food and service was reflected in their attentive and professional approach. If you are looking for a unique dining experience, I highly recommend you visit this restaurant. You won't be disappointed! I'd definitely go back!
