A nice cosy pub tucked around the corner from Haggerston Station, which makes it a nice location that's close to transport but away from the busy highstreet and traffic.
The staff super friendly and genuinely nice which is hard to find in places that offer hospitality and if it's not to busy you can enjoy a nice conversation with them as well.
The food was great, the presentation was on point and tasted great. I had the salt and pepper squid which was well complemented by the aioli sauce, the battered haddock and chips was a beautiful golden brown and crispy (although a touch too salty because of the rock salt sprinkled on top but looked gorgeous), and finally the Eton mess was a perfect balance of sweetness from the meringue, fresh strawberries, and a nice crunch from the pistachios all mixed with the right amount of cream.
I would highly recommend this place for the food, the hospitality and atmosphere.
fast becoming one my favourite pubs, i've got a lot of time for the duke of york. aside from just a nice vibe for beers, good outside and inside seating, they've also got some lovely nibbles.
this time we went for truffle parmesan fries and mac and cheese croquettes. croquettes are next level.
Probably one of the nicest roasts I’ve had in London. Slow cooked belly of pork was delicious, so soft! The service and friendly staff really made our lunch experience 10/10. Thank you :)
