The Plaza doesn't look as lovely as the food tastes. The food doesn't please the eye as much as your palate. It was delicious, and one of my kids loved it the most from the places we visited in London. The fried chicken was crunchy and tender, the curry was sour and spicy, and the beef was extra tender. The sauces perfectly matched with rice. The servers were helpful and attentive. It was a great meal.
Not the fastest service or the largest serving sizes, but the food is incredibly tasty. Nice open kitchen layout—fun watching the chef expedite tickets.
Ordered the green mango salad, seafood curry, and the stir-fried morning glory (fantastic wok-y flavor). Perfectly Thai spicy levels. Wish I had something even closely in par with this at home.
Loved the food here. Flavors were bold. Just the right amount of sweet, sour, spicy. Green mango salad is so hard to find and it was great here. Loved the morning glory dish. Wish the portions were a bit bigger!
I've been here 4 times, and the food is just outstanding every time, and great value for central London. Highly recommend the khua kling gai if you like it spicy, and the beef massaman and pork belly are sublime. The sour orange prawn curry on my visit today was the star of the show though

Low key looking venue with great food and interesting specials. I shied away from the #1 hottest dish but very much enjoyed the chicken liver special, pork and chicken thigh. Lovely authentic vibe, rare in this part of London.
Everything is a bit spicy, overall tasted good, but a bit overpriced I think as the portion is a bit small like tapas size. Love the pork and beef curry. The one with cashews is special, good for a try. Prawn is probably the most spicy dish among those we ordered. Thai milk tea a bit too bland. Dining time is strictly to 90 mins so not an ideal place if you want to have a chill meal.
The green mango salad and the beef shoulder are delicious!
The soy beans are good as a side.
I was not a fan of the sour orange prawn curry, it was too spicy for my taste.
The service was wonderful :)
We recently visited Plaza Khao Gheng, a Thai restaurant located above the Arcade Foodhall in Tottenham Court Road. They focus on specialties from southern Thailand and do not provide your conventional Thai fare. The interiors are simple but with a very quintessentially Thai feel with its bamboo blinds, ceiling fans and furniture. The food is extremely spicy and I'm someone who can handle a fair bit of spice. The dishes were all still really delicious but definitely not for the faint hearted! We tried their set menu which gives a nice array of vegetarian and seafood dishes. The cocktails were ok. Overall, its a good choice if you're looking for really authentic Thai food but might not be the best option if you are not comfortable with spicy food!
Very authentic south thai food. I’m asian and can eat spicy but when it says it’s spicy it’s VERY hot. Small portions but so delightful. I think they’re specialised in curry but I didn’t order curry because I don’t like it (sorry). Morning glory reminded me of hometown food. Nice dessert as well. Quiet expensive but worth for the taste! Be sure to make reservation otherwise don’t expect to get a seat.
If you really want to eat the real Thai food, it may be the only place you can have in London. Arguably the most authentic Thai food! Love spicy love this restaurant. Please note have a reservation in advance. Hard to get seats if you walk in. Naan is the best one in all restaurants I have tried before(last pic) please try it !
I'd say food is good, but it's not great. Nothing special(particularly fried eggs). Tables are so close to each other, so there is no privacy at all. Staff is kind but you can stay only 1 hour and half. After that, they kick you out.
Have been here twice and food here always delicious and seasoned properly. Just a little bit pity that they have changed pork to chicken for that super spicy stir fry dish. Now it tastes less spicy than the previous pork one 🤭 (Btw also need to be mentioned that ladies served me today are so kind)
Great food full of authenticity. Menu is limited but very well executed (except the roti which was slightly overcooked). Booking appeared to be essential as we saw walk-ins being turned away. Staff were accommodating and knowledgeable able to explain and recommended dishes.
Peanut free!
A pretty authentic Thai restaurant, beware. The food can be very spicy. So wash it down with their Singha beer tower. 3.5 litres of refreshing beer. The pork belly is a must order!
Best Thai I’ve found in London. The atmosphere and food are both authentic. The staff were friendly and helpful too.
The chicken and coconut curry, tiger prawns, and beef massaman curry were delicious. Nice spice in some of their food too.
Proper Southern Thai food at last! My mum is from Nakhorn Sri Thammarat and walking into Plaza Khao Gaeng gives you a proper taste and experience of what it’s like down south! The Kua Kling is spot on (I personally prefer pork, but the chicken is still great), morning glory is tasty and the coconut curry is delish. The Hat Yai chicken is awesome. I highly recommend this place. It’s not cheap and the portions aren’t huge, but it’s worth it for a proper taste of southern food (praying that one day Kua Kradok Moo makes it to the menu!)
