Great menu, great food for a reasonable price. Kind service and great atmosphere. Free tapwater upon arrival, refilled without even having to ask for it. I would definitely recommend! Place looks empty on my photo but that's because we were there short before closing time.
This was a surprise find for use. Loved the concept of drawing your own Dumpling characteristic.
We tried their Vegetarian platter and it was delicious would recommend it. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Soho
I had the vegetarian platter and the original platter. Some very creative dumplings - I liked the cheeseburger and Thai green curry. The mushroom dumpling was very good so we order more The fried aubergine is heavy and greasy but delicious. The dessert are creative and a nice idea, I had the dessert platter and none of the desserts were good, the dessert dumplings were very hard/solid, difficult to chew, a bit of a let down. The restaurant walls are decorated with coaster that have been coloured in by children, it is very cute.
It was a quiet evening, and the kitchen was about to close, so we ordered 3 platters that arrived promptly. The food was so delicious, we had to order another 3 platters before the kitchen staff left! Fantastic food - simple and delicious, just the way good food should be. All of the dumplings were delicious, but especially the mushroom ones, and the pecan ones...holy cow!
Delicious and inventive, an absolute treat and will definitely be going again. Our server was utterly charming and pointed us towards some great choices, the apple pie dumplings for desert were next level
Fun place to go with friends. The dumplings were all generally quite good, but I have to admit that it’s not the best dumplings I’ve had. The tempura aubergine could also have done with a lot more sauce as there were dry completely unflavoured bits at the bottom. Still, it’s an excellent place to visit for a catch up.
Great variety of dumplings, we had the classic platter and they were all delicious. Wonderful aubergine and the noodles very tasty as well.
Loved the sweet dumplings for dessert.
The staff is very friendly.
Recommended.
This price was a real surprise. They were very affordable set menu which includes some dumplings and noodles. We went for vegetarian options and the noodles were really tasty indeed, very nice flavour is the best I think was the spring roll. There is a happy hour from 3 to 6 pm, and the cocktails are actually really good. I would single out to Margarita has been beautifully balanced, and not too sweet. The staff were really friendly. They have a range of both vegetarian and vegan options. It just seemed a fun place to go
Ugly Dumpling is a super cute dumpling place in Soho. The highlight is the walls plastered with the creative pursuits of customers. You are given dumpling coasters and colour pens which you can then transform into something creative and it'll make its way onto the wall. The menu is also very unique with the dumplings packing a lot of flavours within them like the cheeseburger and spring roll ones. The interiors are a bit of a squeeze and the service was ok but overall, it's a really unique place with a fun concept and good food.
Lovely ambience, had the meal deal on a weekday lunch - £11 for 5 dumplings and a bowl of noodles. Would recommend the satay chicken dumpling. Overall a nice and fun concept!
We went to the ugly dumpling in Fitzrovia. It's quite big and there is lots of seating. The dumplings were delicious. They have vegetarian varieties as well. I wish they had more sauces to eat the dumplings with, but overall good fun.
Variety of dumpling flavours is impressive, and I liked the taste of all of them. Think the duck, prawn and chive, and pork belly were my favourites but would certainly be happy eating any of them again. We ordered a couple of the platters to try a few different ones which worked well with two of us dining. Wasn't sure how the dessert ones were going to be but again I thought they were all good. Service was good and wasn't too busy when we sat down at 6pm but could see it getting busier as we were there/leaving.
Lovely little place, great food, service and atmosphere.
And you get to colour in your own little coaster, the walls are covered in them by people past.
Gluten free options were excellent. The gf dumpling are outstanding especially the duck dumplings, exceptionally delicious! Very accommodating with other allergies. Service was responsive and prompt. Atmosphere of a busy fun lunch spot (the walls are covered w hand-decorated dumplings). Others reported that the noodles are amazing—available gluten free.
Wonderful dumpling restaurant in Soho which has a decent gluten free menu. Not only gluten free dumplings but also noodles, battered aubergine, mochi balls etc.
Could do with a gf lager. Would recommend
Great service, yummy dumplings- what more could you ask for? The coaster and colours keep you busy and interested while your phone arrives- and the decor is lovely too.
Beautiful food. The dumplings were crisp, warm and varied. The decor is really unique and the service, while slightly slow, was friendly and helpful. I'd heartily recommend this to a dumpling lover as they offer some great infusions that I certainly hadn't seen before. Get the beef randang dumplings for a really special plate.
Wow! What can I say about this place? I was so excited to visit the new one after visiting the little place in Carnaby especially because of the Vegan cheeseburger dumplings; they did not disappoint! I had the vegetarian platter and shared some tempura aubergine with my best friend, and every bite was fresh and delicious and aromatic. A really nice addition to Rathbone Place and a must-visit restaurant in Fitzrovia! The staff were very friendly and super helpful, and the food was delivered very quickly!
