It was a nice and friendly experience. You could either order online or wait for the staff to take your order. We went for lunch, and the service was pretty decent. As for food, we opted for Dan Dan noodles which tasted amazing. And we obviously had to try the XLB and we tried both crab and the vegan one. It was pretty good but I preferred the crab one over the vegan one. It’s nice to know they do cater to other needs. Other than that, we also tried the wontons there and it was good like the ones you could get in Chinatown. Overall, a good experience but everything was a little on the expensive side.

I am eating at Din Tai Fung after 10 years. Last time I ate at Seattle and had to wait for 2 hours in queue. Same quality and experience in London. Top quality Buns and wantons. You can’t get Buns better than this place. Service and ambiance is top class.

Din Tai Fung has finally opened in London. We went to the branch at Selfridges. Located on the top floor, the restaurant has plenty of seating. But it all seems to fill up at lunch time. So either make a prior reservation or be prepared to wait. The menu is similar to the menus around the world, the dimsum is made fresh in the kitchen. The food comes as is prepared and was excellent. They also have a large vegetarian menu unlike their Singapore or Taiwan branches. A great spot for lunch if you love good dimsum.

Nice place to have little dumplings and a noodle. Went in the afternoon on a weekday, no wait and quite a lot of empty tables too. Fast and highly professional service, portions are a little bit small though. Highly recommend trying out the chili oil, original little dumplings and the sticky rice siumai.

Good and juicy soup dumpling but the size is small compared to in Asia. Fried rice is good but again portion size is a bit small. Fairly pricy as well. They have this robot that help waiters carry dishes from kitchen and dirty dishes back, which is pretty cool.

So happy to find one of my favorite chinese restaurants in Selfriges! Perfect place to eat after roaming around Selfriges or Oxford Street if you love Chinese cuisine. We ordered the pork xiao long bao, shredded pork & egg fried rice, prawn & pork wontons with noodles in sichuan sauce, and hot & sour soup (they have both regular and spicy options for this) - they all tasted very good! For drinks, we had lemongrass iced tea and earl grey lemon iced tea - we thought they were very refreshing. Service was also quick so we didn’t have to wait for long before we got our food and drinks. We will definitely try the other dishes in the menu next time!

Update: Came here on an early Thursday evening and was quickly seated. Food and service was spot-on. ————- The check-in process could be improved as it was less than streamlined leaving many confused. Ideally, there should be a line for check-in and another for table ready (once you receive the text message). Also tables should only be ready when they are actually ready as this wasn’t the case (waited another 5 minutes). Outside drinks are not allowed. Food was good and the dumplings came out nice and hot directly from the kitchen. Tried some other dishes but generally more impressed with their classic pork xiao long bao. Always remind myself to just order the dumplings but that rarely happens. Maybe next time. Besides the chaotic check-in, the food is what you’d expect from DTF. The atmosphere was spacious. The bar was a bit hidden and could be better utilized by patrons to enjoy. Many bar seats were readily available.

Din Tai Fung is a great place to go if you're looking for authentic and delicious Taiwanese food. Came for dinner mid-week, would definitely recommend booking as it's busy all the time. They have a large menu and lots of options, as well as a whole vegetarian menu at the back too. Food came out quickly and was very tasty, and our server was very friendly. I'd suggest ordering a few dishes between people as they're good for sharing but the portions aren't huge (unless you order 8 dumplings rather than 4). It's quite expensive though so not somewhere I'd go frequently unless you want to/can.

Definitely one of the best Taiwanese food in the UK, with really great variety choices of “Xiao Long Bao”, including super delicious Hairy crab coral flavour.

Except that the reception staff has no smile when they greet you, which is rare for a famous restaurant, but other services are very good. Food quality above standard.

Had our Valentine’s Day dinner at Din Tai Fung after a shopping sess at Selfridges! I’ve been eyeing to visit this place since long but it’s always busy and I always always forget to book it in advance. This time I went prepared and booked for dinner well in advance. Service and food is just lovely. The highlight of my visit was that lovely service robot 🤖 it’s soo cute. And made the place feel so advanced. We started with Mushroom & Truffle Xiao Long Bao. They were realllly delicious and delicate. I really wanted to try the ramen style soupy noodles but sadly there ain’t any veggie options in them. So I had Dan Dan Noodles, which comes with a peanut tasting sauce (not soupy). All the noodles have egg in it (bear in mind if you are a no meat-egg eater). They tasted good. Not mind blowingly flavourful but good. Other half had Prawn & Pork Wonton Noodle Soup which he really enjoyed. The soup was kinda clear soup was very flavourful. We had DIN and Earl Grey Lemon Iced Tea for drinks. Both were good! DIN is a gin based cocktail and looks elegant. Smelled and tasted great. Ice tea was as good as it can get. Overall a wonderful experience.

We went around dinner time and the place was packed. The staff was kind enough to assist us and booked us on the waiting list. The wait was about 15-30mins. They sent us a message saying our table is ready. Right off the bat we encounter a slight dilemma with the portion of food that they would serve, there was not much information on the menu on how big or small the dishes were. But gratefully one of the staffs was very helpful. The food was amazing as always. We all love the xiolong bao. I highly recommend it. We ordered quite a few dishes and all of which tasted great!

Made an online booking. Table wasn’t ready upon arrival so went to the bar for a drink and the table was ready before the cocktails were. Soup dumplings were great and the beef noodle soup was very tender. Highlight was the pork with egg fried rice, very moreish. Spicy noodles were average and not very spicy at all. Big portions on the veg, we had garlic string beans and couldn’t finish it between 2.

The signature dish "Pork Xiao Long Bao" and "Pork Chop and Dry Noodle in House sauce" is not as good as expectation. However, we are very happy with "Spinach with Garlic" (no pics) and "Steam Chicken Soup with noodle." The spinach is so soft with aroma of garlic. The chicken soup is delicious, and chicken is juicy. I recommend it if you prefer a lighter meal.

Lovely restaurant on the 4th floor of Selfridges! We had a Saturday lunch here and tried various dumplings, the food was excellent and flavorful. I enjoyed the fact that you could order half portion of dumplings (4instead of 8) and try more different fillings. A bit disappointing was limited vegetarian options for dumplings and that the seafood filling was always mixed with pork. Otherwise, the service was really quick and pleasant. However on Saturday the restaurant was nearly full and quite loud, I would’t go here for a cozy date for example.

The views from where we sat were absolutely lovely, cutting across Mayfair and Oxford Street. The restaurant is pretty large sized, situated on the 4th floor in Selfridges (I think it is 🤔) The decor was really simple yet nice. We had about 20mins wait time for a table so you can decide to shop whilst waiting. Lol There were robotic servers 😃moving around in the restaurant, first time I had seen some of those. The menu was friendly, had something for everyone including vegetarian options. Well mannered waiters and the lady who waited on us was really great and she gave us good tips about the food we ordered. The food was delicious yummy 😋🤤(check out the pictures) It was very busy that day but they managed the restaurant very well. Quite a casual place to dine, won't recommend for dates or if you want to have a formal conversation. 12.5% charge on top of the meal so be prepared. But I think it is deserved 👌🏼 Situated within the Selfridges store, loads of shopping around and their Dim Sum was spectacular (one of their specialties) I would recommend and visit again myself

Food are about average. Something wrong with the pudding my friend doesn't wish to finish it.
