Shame they have now closed down! Beautiful place with very creative and delicious Japanese food. Top class fast and friendly service. We had the 8 course tasting menu and were very pleasantly surprised by all courses. The wine tasting was also very interesting. Their partner restaurant Angelina will stay open so I would recommend giving them a try! Will definitely come back when they reopen.

Such great food at a reasonable price. It was perfect for a date and great to hold a conversation with the music and noise not getting too loud. The amount and quality of food you get is unmatchable to other restaurants in the central area. Service was impeccable. I read some earlier reviews saying that it could use some improvement and I’m glad they took the reviews to heart. Waitstaff literally predicted our needs at every corner and made the night so much more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back.

Dai Chi is a small restaurant with a really nice interior and relaxed atmosphere. They offer 6 and 8 course tasting menus at a very reasonable cost. We went for the 6 course tasting menu along with 1 cocktail and 1 glass of wine each. This came to £60 each incl. service. My one issue with the restaurant is the menu. Some of the dishes just didn’t work for me or fit with the menu. The taleggio was nice on its own but I don’t think it fitted with the menus. The offal was extremely chewy (and I normally like offal) but this was the worst dish on the menu. If those things were changed it would have been 5 stars.

Absolutely delighted! The food is delicious but the staff really is amazing! We had the 8 courses tasting menu with wine pairing and everything was perfect. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely interesting fusion Japanese omakase experienced in Central London. The price is quite reasonable and you can have 8 dishes per person! I have to say, the dessert is the best among all dishes, with the fresh taste of frozen strawberry blended. Staff are very friendly and they will explain to you for all ingredients of each dish.

Dai Chi is the “sister restaurant” of Angelina. I went to Angelina and it blew my mind, so I had great expectations for this one as well. I can proudly say that it didn’t disappointed me 🤩 The whole thing is an experience. The food is great and the service is super professional. It’s quite rare to find this quality in London. The best part is that they constantly change the menu, so you can come back several times and always enjoy something different 🥰 Simply brilliant 🤩

Let’s start with the bottom line - a gorgeous new place in Soho with excellent food at reasonable prices, which I absolutely recommend. From the people who brought you Angelina, this restaurant is decidedly more simple in its menu, with an emphasis on deep fried bites and strong flavors. Some of the combinations are so great together (like the tofu and shiso skewer, or the mushroom and prawn one), and the cocktail menu greatly complements the food (I recommend the shrubs!). I’d definitely try the tasting menu - great value and they’re happy to make changes for specific dietary requirements. The only qualm I might have about the food is that some of the skewers we’re served to us at room temp rather than piping hot from the fryer; when you’re serving deep fried food, that’s an issue. The lost star is for service: on the one hand, I know the place is relatively new and I could tell the staff were all trying their best, which I appreciate. But one of our servers said they knew nothing about the alcohol menu, and proceeded to call the bartender (who was very helpful). Secondly, at the end of the meal we were given a different dessert than the one on the menu, because apparently they’d run out. We booked well in advance and were explicitly told we’d get the other one, which suggests poor planning; and we weren’t even told we were getting a different dessert when it was served, we had to ask. Both these errors made us feel a bit taken aback and I hope they will be corrected. That said, the dessert we did get was delicious! Again, come here and enjoy the food and the vibe; but there are still a few kinks in the service that need to be ironed out for this place to really sing.

Delicious Japanese tapas, look small but you finish completely satisfied. Flavours are amazing, we add the courgette flower and it was really tasty and creamy. The dessert was to die for, we also try the pear one (on the house what it was really nice detail) and we still prefer the pannacotta. I highly recommend the place and go for the tasting menu. Great value for the quality and presentation of the food

Went here last night for my birthday with partner. We did the set menu and wine pairing. We were advised to get cocktails as there was a bit of wait for first round of food. There wasn't. Very quick first round of food and wine after cocktail arrived. And then it just all kept coming very quickly. Overly quickly. There was no time to drink your wine or at time to finish your food before next round was in. About 80 mins for set menu and wine pairing plus the cocktail. Other problem was the portion size. Just a little bit more would be good... tldr; give me time to enjoy the experience. Don't let me feel like cattle being herded through as quickly as possible. Food is good. Give me a bit more.

Visited the restaurant for the first time for dinner. It's beautiful on the inside. The lighting and the ambiance sets you up to know that it's going to be a special evening The wait staff was helpful and incredibly courteous. Throughout the whole evening they were pleasant, smiling and attentive. All four members of my dining party went for the omakase menu option. Two of us had dietary restrictions and the restaurant was incredibly accommodating. I had made them aware of my allergies during booking. The food was incredible! Everything was so well executed and flavorful and beautifully presented! If I had to really pick that little tomato with the anchovy on top was just the most perfect unexpected bite! I've had a lot of chicken karage but here it was exceptionally tender and flavorful. I also thought the mushroom was really delicious. It was incredibly meaty and unlike mushrooms. I don't know how they prepared it but it was delicious! We opted for the wagyu beef add-on and it was worth it! That beef has a texture of butter, it almost tastes like butter and that sauce that it's served with is sublime! I can't wait to come back here!!

Dining at dai chi was an extraordinary experience! Saw a comment complaining about how everything is fried however this is a kushikatsu restaurant which literally means “fried sticks” - fried food on sticks. For £38, it is a great value and the chef certainly explored a lot of combinations I’ve never thought of before. The Hokkaido buns are heavenly (my friend fully enjoyed that) and honestly there wasn’t really a dish that was at fault (tho the first salad is a bit lacking, still tasty though). The staff was amazing and attentive and the cocktails were great as well. Highly recommend! Would like to go again if the menu changes so I can try more new things.

Interesting combinations, very reasonable price for what you get ( tasting menu with 14 different bites/small dishes) . Service is spot on and the ambience is super cool for a date or a night out. Cocktails are very interesting: the whiskey, Campari, vermouth and soy butter was to die for. Recommended

Such incredible produce with such precision. Didn't know fully what to expect but we took a chance with the tasting menu and it knocked our socks off. Very humbling presentation and accurate flavour targets that were hit. Like walking through an edible echo chamber. Highlights - pork kabayagi, venison with shitake ponzu and Sicilian prawn, pea & wasabi soup. Plenty other flavour chambers but they stood out. A sake menu invites a sense of adventure to try more and accurate service to top it all off 👌 A taste adventure with the guidance of words, be bold.
