Absolutely loved brunch today! Food was delicious.. so many flavours. We sat at the window too which was great to watch the world go by...Staff were sound and so was the chef! Complimented her on our way out and she was.genuinley chuffed! We need to do it more :)
Reviewing after my fourth visit to the Grand on Portobello. Came here first for brunch and we were blown away by the creme brûlée French toast and avocado toast with vegan ricotta. Was so impressed I also celebrated my 21st birthday here with my family and ordered: sourdough, crispy chicken with aioli, burgers and sea bass. This was back in February and we are all still raving about it.
But today was the single best restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Chef Alessia pulled out all the stops with crispy chicken, roasted cauliflower, basque cheesecake and homemade vegan sorbet. With an open plan kitchen it is great to meet the chef and as she explained the dish to us it was clear how much she cared about the food, which is reflected in every dish. Giulia was attentive and recommended a delicious primitivo (£7) while other support staff were really friendly/smiling and looked like they were enjoying themselves too. We were very generously given some limoncello on the house and having not eaten out for a month due to exams - came out beaming and doing the happy food dance. Biggest thank you to the team on 20th May for a night of amazing food, hospitality and hugs that was a much needed treat.
Overall: a delicious meal at any time of the day, perfect for a date, occasion or family meal with consistently great hospitality. If you are in Notting Hill this is THE place to go.
We had dinner here the night before and it was so good we had breakfast the next day too! Again, it didn’t disappoint! Two vegetarian dishes we had - aubergines and cauliflower were full of flavour, burger and rump steak cooked to perfection. No space for desert sadly. Pancakes and French toast this morning were sensational. We’ll be definitely back.
Had excellent brunch here! Twist on the sauce as they have nduja in it. That only makes it better and tastier.
Highly recommended.
Service also loo lovely
This place had been on my list to visit for some time. The opportunity arose when a friend visiting from out of town was staying in the area.
We arrived for a late lunch and The Grand did not disappoint. The menu was fresh and exciting and each of the several dishes that we ordered were absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. A perfect Sunday stop off
Great experience. We tried several of the dishes on the menu and they were all impressive. I am not a fan of oysters but my partner is and she loved them. The chef even pulled out olive oil from Lake Garda after hearing it is my favorite region in Italy and she drizzled it on one of the dishes as a finishing touch. We especially loved the crispy chicken that is always golden and cooked to perfection.
Really small establishment, and awkward circle tables but the food was amazing. We ordered the pancakes and they definitely didn’t disappoint. Service was really quick and the food was definitely faultless. Would definitely recommend
Nothing is better than the Grand! That chef and her spices are out of this world. We were there for dinner, brunch and afternoon drinks. Thank u Alessia for ur incredible food and Vinny for taking such good care of us. Why go anywhere else when food and drinks are outstanding! Best spicy margaritas too!
Lovely food. Great staff. Elegant atmosphere. Had a fantastic lunch here on a busy Portobello Saturday. Will come again!
Incredibly delicious food. Best lunch my mom and I had on her visit. The chicken was so divine that my mum asked about the spices used and the chef herself gave us a tub with the mixture. 10/10.
Amazing food! Best lunch me and my mom had in London for sure. Everything was on point. Great experience and staff was really kind. 10/10
Absolutely amazing food and great coffee. The pancakes are crazy good. Our new favourite breakfast spot.
The burger is also super tasty.
We absolutely loved it. Shout out to Chef Alessia Loretelli who was incredible. Their attention to detail in their cooking was masterful and the food was delightful.
Everything here was delicious with super lovely staff. Located on one of London’s coolest streets you really can’t go wrong. Chef Max was amazing, although I think he’s moved restaurants now!
Sublime roast cauliflower with yellow beetroot, chimichurri and pine nuts 🙌🏼
As for the aioli... Just wow!
The spicey Margaritas were addictive 😅 🌶️
Thank you head chef Allesia. Most excelent! 🙏🏼
We rate it: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely OUTSTANDING! Haven’t had a meal so beautifully prepared in a while. My favourites are ceviche and roasted cauliflower. But tortelloni were amazing too! I also complimented the chef and she was so humbled by it. Very sweet staff. Definitely recommend. And hopefully will be back again.
Delicious! Got the French toast, steak sandwich, avocado on toast, eggs royale, and the fried chicken starter. The flag white and pimms spritz were fantastic too. Plus we got to sit next to the Banksy. And the service was super friendly even on a very busy Saturday. Don’t miss it.
What an amazing place in the heart of portobello! Excellent service and I must say was very impressed by chef Alessia, the food was absolutely amazing! I must say we tried a wide range of dishes from the menu and all of them were delicious!!!!!
Well done to the team and to Alessia as it was so busy! But we still felt accommodated to!
