What looked to be an amazing gastronomic experience I was looking forward to, and I am pleased to say it was every bit as amazing as I had hoped. The service was performed at the highest standard with attention to every small detail. The waiters and hosts respectfully and competently checked on our table without becoming intrusive. Each dish was served with a brief description of the ingredients without overdramatic history lessons. Each plate looked and tasted equally incredible. Clearly destined for Michelin stars. I will definitely come back to experience it again.

This is your choice if you want incredible food, excellent service and a superb/calm surrounding. Rather than just a fancy dinner, this is an experience for a special occasion. I definitely recommend this place. For two people, we paid around 400-500 £ in total, but absolutely worth it!

While this was the most expensive thing my partner and I have done, it was also the most memorable experience so far. We celebrated our 3 year anniversary and also recent engagement here and it was just perfect. The food was absolutely perfect and unreal! The cocktails were amazing and the rooms were breathtaking. Thank you for the amaretto sours bartender and thank you to the chefs and FoH staff for the beautiful card wishing us well 🥰

Entering the famous Savoy Hotel, you will need to make a left turn, up the narrow staircase, squirm past the AMERICAN BAR patrons, before you arrive at the Restaurant nestled in the upper corner of the hotel. Somehow they managed to squeeze a world-class culinary experience into the tiny passageways inside the historical building. The outstanding staff will usher you efficiently into your seats, and the parade will soon begin. Champagne? Yes! Amuse-Bouche? Right on! Add some freshly shaved black truffles to the langoustine? We don't mind at all! The curse of being offered tasty dishes is of course that it ruins everything that comes afterwards. That will happen. You will need to brace yourselves for this outcome. By the end of the meal, I could no longer stomach the idea of breakfast the next day. I was traumatized to the point of jumping out of my seat when offered the final dessert. Let's make that a takeaway instead. Pretty please? What do I remember from the coma inducing meal? Was it the perfectly melted cheese sauce? Perhaps the tender langoustine? Maybe the rhubarb berry pre-dessert? Nay. It was the freshly baked bread that gave me an enduring memory: ugh. I'm full!

Honestly possibly one of the best gastronomic experiences of my lifetime: nine course mystery meal with wine pairing options. The staff were awesome, the food extraordinary, and ambiance was perfect. Lives up to Gordon Ramsey's exacting standards. They even inquired in advance of any dietary restrictions!

We visited Restaurant 1890 and it was superb. The tasting menu was excellent especially the short rib. The wine pairing was brilliant too. The service was really good especially given the restaurant has only just opened. We’ll definitely come back again. Thank you!

Quintessential fine dining at its absolute best. My husband and I recently visited Restaurant 1890 by Gordon Ramsay on the first day of our honeymoon; and it was the highlight of our trip. The staff and overall experience set the standard for the rest of our stay in the UK - and one that other restaurants came close to, but did not exceed. We have talked about the food and the kindness of the staff everyday since we dined here. One highlight for me was being able to connect with the General Manager, Sarah Rhone, in a meaningful way. Sarah - and the entire staff - knew who we were and that we were there for our honeymoon, and we feel truly honored to be able to say we were able to meet everyone we did that evening. It was particularly meaningful to even be able to sample some ingredients sourced directly from Sarah's family farm. I have found that fine dining is often so fancy that it is void of real life... to the point of being almost misanthropic; however, this is not the case at all here. In fact, it is so far from it. I highly recommend doing the tasting menu exactly as the Chef has designed it, and accompany it with one of the wine pairings. I do not want to give too much away, as one of the best parts about the whole experience is a certain degree of surprise, but suffice it to say: they have curated something absolutely breathtaking. I used to scoff when people said food prepared in a restaurant could invoke such intense emotion to the point of making you cry, but I stand corrected... and that was just the canapé! To everyone at Restaurant 1890: thank you for making our honeymoon truly special. This was something we will never forget, and we hope to be able to come back again when we are in London. There really aren't any words to describe it; at least none that truly do it justice. - Jordan & Hunter

Had a spectacular meal last night and the staff was wonderful. They accommodated the entire menu to be gluten free for us. Beyond the food, Ben’s hospitality was a treat! Will always recommend to everyone to visit 1890 for a special night out.

My family and I went to this restaurant for my birthday and it was was so Amazing! We had two kids with us 7 and 11 daughters and the staff didn't blink an eye , they treated them so nicely and were very attentive. I had a hard time choosing wine (the staff was patient and helped me find something perfect) . Food was amazing and so beautiful 😍 no .. the kid's didn't love everything but I was more than happy to help them out 😆 at the end we got to see the kitchen and meet the chef which was so special and fun for the kids . Everyone worked as a team which made our experience very comfortable and relaxing. Definitely recommend ❤️

My wife and I were visiting from chicago and everything about our experience was fantastic and we are glad that we got in before the inevitable star(s) arrives! The room itself was nice and intimate, we were lucky to be seated over looking the savoy square so great people watching during the meal! The staff was amazing throughout the service, Ben the sommelier recommended a wine pairing that suited the meal perfectly and with the meal Sarah came over and explained what the concept of the restaurant was about and how dinner would be served. (Don’t want to give too much away as it’s part of the fun) As 1890 doesn’t give a menu to start with the aim being to just enjoy the experience of different food turning up I won’t give too much away but want to make some call outs. The tomato consommé was unbelievable, absolute explosion of flavor that was everything that an amazing tomato should taste like. It came with an accompanying Parker house roll, topped with the most amazing honey. Not too sweet, not too plain, packed full of floral flavors and incredible. It was made by Sarah’s family and unfortunately not available commercially! (The honey was so incredible we ordered more bread just to get more honey) The fish course was the highlight for my wife, the turbot was cooked incredibly with a caviar beurre blanc that was the only thing that could stop us talking about the bread in the previous course. My highlight was the short rib, the meat was tender but too much so and the bordelaise is something that I could have probably just have in a soup bowl and be completely happy. Throughout the meal the wine served by Ben and notes that were given were informative not only about the tasting notes of the wine but some information about the vineyard/terroir and grape varieties which paired nicely with the meal. We did the Discovery wine pairing and we were surprised by a few, the Patrimonio Blanc we thought started with a little “funk” (in a good way I promise) but then ended with a really nice buttery but crisp finish, it made the wine really enjoyable and different. The Tenuta Sette Pondi Podere was a great deep red that paired really well with the meat course. The service of wine was quick but informative and really a conversation about the wine instead of just feeling as though it was being read off a facts sheet. Also Ben offered unbiased opinions on some wines that you had choices between in the fish/meat course pairings. Sarah was amazing throughout the meal always checking in and having a great conversation. The rest of the staff was equally fantastic I just have a terrible memory for names, so thank you to all the team members there on the night we ate, all were amazing. Having dined quite a lot in restaurants of similar caliber you expect the service to be a little uptight and stiff, but this is absolutely not the case at 1890, all the staff were very friendly, very open to conversation about the food/wine/just the day. It was a complete breath of fresh air. I would absolutely recommend 1890 to anyone, food was incredible but the level of service matched it perfectly without being uptight or intimidating.

no doubt to say that it was one of my three best experiences all around the world in the last five years…..what a dinner!!! Thanks to the chef and the great sommelier (Emanuel) I had even cry for a perfect food match. Outstanding, maybe needs one more star but the “comet” to define this Restaurant.

I came here on the first night I got into London from the US. It couldn’t have been a better experience, the staff was nothing short of incredible. It was unlike anything I had experienced before. We are not normally fine diners, but it was always something we were interested to get into. I fear this may have ruined my experience of food however because the food was the best any of us had ever had. A lot of the food, being in a different country and not normally having fine dining could be a little intimidating. But the staff did a great job of explaining the food and what/where it came from. The wine discovery was also amazing and hearing the stories of where they came from and why they tasted the way they did was incredibly fun. We also did the cocktails before the meal. They were the best we had ever had. The liquor tasted top shelf and there was something for all of our party who had different taste. They were also knowledgeable about drinks and made us some signature ones off menu. We feared we may leave the place hungry but we were very wrong. We were full and couldn’t have been happier. I would recommend this to anyone and I do plan on coming back when we are in London again. Staff 10/10 Food 10/10 (ruined food for us really) Wine 10/10 Cocktails 10/10

Amazing. First fine dining experience and it was more I could dream of. Food was great and I can't stop thinking about it. We did the wine discovery too, and it was great to taste the recommended wines to complement the dish. Cocktails were delicious too.

Absolutely sublime. A beautifully sumptuous setting with the most delicious food. We opted for the tasting menu with the fine wine pairing. Exquisite dishes paired with a fantastic selection of wines. Highlights were the turbot in champagne beurre blanc, the little cheddar bites that were like little heavenly clouds…overall a melange of wonderful flavours. The service was friendly and attentive, and unusually for a fine dining restaurant the staff also engage in humorous conversation with you too. If you’re lucky enough to be able to book a table then do! You’re in for a treat.
