If you are a Bengali like me in a foreign land and are craving delicious Bengali food in a beautiful, classy and modern set up, this is the place to go. Tbh, I was craving the Kolkata biryani and we made a last minute reservation which thankfully got through given the place was absolutely packed! We ordered the beetroot fritters, mushidabad chicken, peas kachori, dal, malpua, nollen gur cheesecake. Everything was delicious although I did tell our wonderful host Manas that the Kolkata biryani at Arsalan was better ;-) and he took the feedback like a sport and we had a good laugh about it!
Our friends and us can’t wait to go back again soon, to try out the rest of the menu!
Good food. The appetizers were great and so was the kofta dish. Good drinks as well. Overall, an enjoyable dinner.
You know a restaurant is good when they have a small simple menu. Chourangi did not disappoint !!
The Biriyani was just top notch. I wish it came with a little sauce though just to change up a little seeing as the portion size is very generous.
Chourangi is a good Indian restaurant near marble arch , London. It serves liquor, I had dinner and apart from non veg dishes I ordered there jackfruit vegetable which was very yummy. One can try it for a change. It was freshly made & I think due to this tedious to make vegetable was ordered, we got delayed service of entire food which made us little irritated. Otherwise it is a good restaurant to visit.
First time tried. We really wanted to try the hilsa dish but it was unavailable :(
So we ordered the set menu and I think it was worth trying. Quantity was sufficient for one person but the main attraction was the taste. All the items were really tasty:)
Definitely worth trying. Highly recommended
Best Indian Bengali Bangla cuisine in London. The taste is beyond best and service is outstanding.Must try - Fish Fry Beetroot Cutlet Mutton & Chicken Biryani, Gulab Jamun.
Going back soon for more 💗
Amazing taste. Should start with the Lamb Biriyani :- literally wow!! The same authentic Bengali biriyani taste.. the lamb pieces just melts in your mouth..
Also, shouldn’t forget about the croquettes (banana leaf), Fish fry .. cook to perfection.
Chicken chaap was another item that blew our mind. Overall, a restaurant which aptly represents Bengal cuisines.
Highly recommended. Must try dishes :- Lamb Biriyani, Croquettes (banana leaf), Chicken chaap.
On the more expensive side - fine considering location, decor and atmosphere - more fine dining but also great for popping in for lunch. More casual if you’re going for outside dining. Great range of dishes. I love the prawns and chicken tikka as well as the kanji dessert,
Excellent food. Loved the new salad with gondhoraaj lemon infused with truffle. Had a very pleasant conversation with Anjanda, the owner. Was hoping to meet him at some point. So wish fulfilled.
This is my fourth visit to this place. I celebrated my anniversary with my friends, had great food during the Durga Puja season (they had a Puja Special Menu).
Will be back very soon.
Chourangi is a homecoming of flavours and nostalgia from the kitchens and streets of Kolkata. It’s always a great night out with amazing food, drinks and ambience. Equally popular among my Indian and non Indian friends, most of who are regulars now! The location is very central and great for corporate dinners too.
