The Galvin was a fantastic experience. Lovely setting and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Deducted one star for our food was slow coming out to us. But we were not in any hurry so it didn't matter too much, although I suspect if you were going to the theatre or elsewhere afterwards this might be a bigger issue. The food was delicious and worth the wait.

Beautiful restaurant in a 5-star hotel with service to match but the food felt overpriced. There were interesting items on the menu: I had the grouse (see photo), there was also veal kidney, duck pate. Oysters were delicious and were £24 for 6. A few of my dining partners had the salmon which came out fully cooked and way too firm; this might be how salmon is eaten locally though, I'm not sure... Cocktails were delicious though!

We visited the Galvin on Saturday night for dinner. Very peaceful atmosphere - almost spa-like in the reception and a beautiful restaurant with high ceilings. Food was presented very well. Can highly recommend the flat iron steak, which was cooked to perfection. Service from Ash was impeccable. The only reason for 4 stars on the food was the lack of clarity on gluten free dishes. To make a dish gluten free items were simply removed. For similarly priced restaurants, chefs will generally look to replace an item with a GF option.

It's a really good Michelin starred spot in a great location. It's in the Fitzroy Hotel which has its own benefits but the what we didn't like as much as the changes they made to Neptunes which was what was here prior to Galvins. Still nice but liked it better the way it was in terms of atmosphere.

Stunning food, restaurant, and location. It was all superb, but the risotto (pea and black garlic), isn’t something I would normally order but ,honestly, was one of the best things I have ever eaten.

Professionals from beginning to the end : excellent greeting, excellent service and excellent food. Alban, Stacy and all the members of staff (including the lovely at the reception who is from Dominican Republic) It is so rare to receive such a great service since the Pandemics stroke. Thanks a lot. Highly recommended

Quality establishment, following on from Galvin at Windows (Hilton Hotel, Park Lane). Food and drink were divine. Seating was not the most comfortable, to be honest, and the table surface was sticky when we sat down - poor cleaning or poor varnish? Either way, don't let it put you off as the menu shines through. Please see my photos of our choices on the Wednesday evening we visited. The atmosphere is slightly lacking, perhaps because of the choice of circular type booths throughout, complimented by the occasional chair at each table. It creates a system of individual areas where you don't feel part of the rest of the restaurant. A minor issue overall, though. Booking is advised as the restaurant is part of the Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel and a number of guests will dine here for sure. The hotel enjoys a generally high occupancy rate, even at £400+ a night for many of the rooms.

Soft launch, so lots of staff fumbles and clunky but that's what we where there for! Some of the food choices were a little ordinary, the prawn cocktail and beef, others exciting and already amazing. Even allowing for soft launch this is shy of getting top marks, which is a shame and hope Chris and Jeff can inject more magic, theatre, inspiration and general brilliance they strive for into this new venture. They have set high standards elsewhere, but that is a measure for judgement too ... Time will tell if they can replicate that here. Wishing them every good wish to get there.

You feel like relaxing on your sofa as you can do some work and study and enjoy having some food. The portion is small but elegant service with a friendly, kind staff

We dined a few times at the Galvin while staying at the Kimpton Fitzroy and absolutely loved it. Breakfast is excellent with a great selection. Dinner and drinks hit the spot after a long day exploring London. Our waiter Robert and the sommelier were extremely nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

Loved this restaurant and would definitely recommend! Top end price, but worth every £££. Service was excellent from start to finish. Although full, the restaurant didn't seem busy, as there was plenty of space between the tables. The food was excellent! We had the tomahawk between us with all the trimmings and nicely paired wine.. Will definitely return! NB recently paid a similar price for steak at Gauchos and was hugely disappointed - this restaurant is on another level! Book well in advance and ask for one of the little booths by the fireplace.
