Best Indian fine dining experience in London! I would rate an 11/10 for service, ambiance, cuisine, flavor, uniqueness. Was hyped up by many friends/family and it delivered on the ultra high expectations. Every bite was a culinary experience and just blew my mind each time. Worth it (expensive but Michelin star so it’s expected) and make sure to get a reservation asap as it’s very hard to get into. Can’t wait to come back!
We had dinner and everything was amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such good service anywhere it was amazing. The food was delicious but too spicy for me, now the server did warn that the food was spicy when we ordered it, so that mistake is just on me. But even the items that weren’t overly spicy did feel like they were a bit hotter then what I am used to in Canada.
These were the best desserts I’ve ever had at any Indian restaurant.
My husband and I tried the tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. Every dish was a wonderful combination of textures and flavors. My favorite dish was the prawn curry. The mango rice pudding was also spectacular. Beware, the tasting menu is a SIGNIFICANT amount of food. We couldn’t get anywhere close to finishing the main dishes because we were so full! Be sure to make reservations well in advance.
Cozy unpretentious restaurant considering the Michelin star. Did the 90£ veggie tasting menu which was delicious!!! A ton of food though we took lots of food home. The eggplant was a favorite as was the biryani
Lovely place and very good cuisine. We went there during lunch and took the Lunch Menu. We definitely had plenty of food and even had trouble finishing the desserts. Apparently the portions are always the same (quite big) so be careful to not overeat yourself too soon ;-).
We had the set lunch menu. The service was quick and proper. The food was all very flavorful and delicious; shrimp curry was our favorite. The portions were quite generous. We did the get to try the drinks but the drinks list seemed very interesting as well.
Gymkhana has been around for a while, but I've only recently had the chance to try it out. This place definitely deserves its star, so go for the tasting menu. The food is extremely well put together — think Indian street food staples, and a lot of them. And, while we didn't go for the wine pairing (it was lunch after all), we did go through some of the cocktails: don't miss the very spicy Masala Margarita and the suprising Quinine Sour. All in all, a lovely experience you shouldn't miss.

Lovely experience for our Anniversary Lunch at Gymkhana, One MICHELIN Star restaurant in London. The only reason I am giving the food 4 stars is because I had chickpeas in almost every dish I was served as part of my lunch package - that said, I am a fussy eater and I don’t do much dairy. But every item was wonderful, nicely presented. Food is rich, creamy - you will need a nap right after! In general, the service is very accommodating, spice levels are right and the ambience is beautiful. Highly recommend! Super vegetarian friendly.
I had sky high expectations here, nearly but not quite met.
The curry is excellent (no match for Sabor da Índia, but then, what is?). The ambiance is good, but Bombay Brasserie is better. Service is polite and friendly but slow at bringing beer - personally I believe that if you sell chilli you should be real quick at bringing the beer.
You'll need to book months in advance for larger parties so plan accordingly.
We came for the lunch menu which was amazing value.
We couldn’t finish it and had lots to take home and enjoy for dinner.
All courses were delicious and vegetarian friendly. Only downside: two courses were a little too spicy for us (I suppose we are not that used to spicyness).
We enjoyed sitting upstairs for lunch (brighter), but downstairs looked nice for dinner.
