Standard Japanese restaurant near to Angel station, the service was really good and kind all time. The food was fine but a bit below the expectations. Prices are mid-high, we paid 75£ with just water and we were not full and taste was standard. Good place to go with friends or a common Sushi night.
Really very, very good. I love Japanese food and particularly sashimi. Theirs was excellent.
Presentation perfect.
I felt like something hot as well and the tempura prawns were just the thing. Excellent light crisp crunchy batter around the very large prawn.
Very good range of Saki.
What's more to love?
I ordered from here for the first time yesterday and it was so good I had to order again today. Chirashi is my favourite and I’ve tried it at so many places but this one is beyond amazing. Their aubergine is also delicious. The portions are so generous and the fish tastes fresh. Plus I got a free soft drink so thank you !
Supreme! Highly recommended! Everything was perfect, sashimi was so fresh and Takoyaki and chicken Karaage were insane! Best japanese restaurant at affordable price in London
Takoyaki was really delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the octopus inside was also quite big. Sushi rolls were delicious as well but nothing too outstanding. Staff were really friendly though!
The food was excellent, we ordered plenty and left fully satisfied. The decour inside is very good.
Bottom line: can be a good casual dining place if you happen to be around the area and fancy some Asian fusion. But do not expect amazing authentic Japanese dishes given the price level.
Unagi don is at par with most other Japanese restaurants, but cheaper than most of them (£15.99) so it's good value for money. The sauce is a tad too sweet for me. Would suggest ordering a salad to go with it.
Prawn tempura is good. The skin is thin and crispy. I like the sauce too.
Sashimi omakase is not bad given the price level (£17 for 9 pieces). The salmon and tuna are not the most impressive but they are freshly prepared. The white tuna is probably the highlight of the night - slightly grilled on the outside, it forms a nice combination of smoky taste and fatty texture.
Service was friendly. The atmosphere is good for small group gatherings but a bit crowded.
We popped in on the off chance there was a table for two available on Sunday. It’s small and was about half full.
Together, we ordered the tempura prawn, nasu dengaku, salmon and avocado roll, crispy duck roll, edamame and chicken katsu. They had run out of the Calpis which I was curious to try so I had a Yuzu drink instead.
Service was fantastic - prompt and polite. And food came quickly. Tempura prawn and nasu dengaku was especially tasty. I was a little disappointed by the crispy duck roll - it’s an interesting concept but I think it works better in pancakes.
We weren’t very adventurous in our choices but I’d love to go back and try more dishes.
This place never fail to impress me with the quality of the food, politeness of the hosts.
I do highly recommend all the sushi and the aubergine.
The wagyu beef rolls were a delicious experience! The place is nice and cosy, the staff is very respectful and the food never disappoints. I definitely recommend them!
