I love Marugame Udon. Good food, nice ambience, service is consistently pleasant, and very reasonable prices. This was my first time visiting this particular restaurant and it’s bigger than the other branches I’ve visited in Soho. Staff are always willing to help and the food is always yummy. I ordered the BK Udon and it was lovely. One of the best value dinners you can get in London in my opinion.

Had a very good late lunch here at Marugame Udon today... It was my first time in this Japanese restaurant chain, and all looked good on the reviews. It was a counter service as soon as you entered, and I got served and seated within a few minutes!! I chose the chicken teriyaki(large portion). And had an assortment of gyoza and tempura prawns as a side... The teriyaki was plentiful, colourful, and topped with a generous amount of sliced ginger, which really freshened up this dish....the rice was done perfectly... The stand out though was the tempura prawns, So fresh and moorish, I could have easily ate a dozen 😘.. I tried a pint of the Asahi lager with this, which was surprisingly good and really, really cold, just how a pint should be served 👍. So well worth a visit if in the area a need a quick lunch/meal.....

This doesn’t need a long review because there’s really not much to say. Do you want a cheap meal for lunch or dinner with your friends with quick service and amazing prices? Then look no further. You really just can’t go wrong with coming here. There’s loads of dishes for whatever you’re in the mood for, big or small. I personally recommend the regular Katsu udon (pictured) loaded with free toppings. It was only 9.50 which is a steal in London these days. Oh ,and you won’t be hungry after - you get more than enough udon to fill you. Loads of seating, great atmosphere, great prices, great service; if you haven’t been to marugame udon or were on the fence about it before then what are you waiting for?!

Extremely fast service. Upon arrival, you’ll need to grab a tray and then select between udon or katsu. The chefs prepare the food right in front of you. Afterward, you can choose your sides, drinks, and then proceed to payment. However, the swiftness does seem to affect the quality; fast doesn’t always translate to great. The tempura lacks crunchiness, and the dumplings are served cold. This spot is suitable if you’re short on time and extremely hungry.

Food was okay, though I wished the tempura was hotter (the lamp kept the food warm but not hot) and that the menu was fully available - the vegan kake udon was not available on the day of visiting, original kake udon required waiting time of additional 30 mins, a few tempura items were not available. Service was slightly slow but staff were friendly. Nice environment with spacious seating. Tempura options not shown in the menu.

I recently discovered Marugame after joining my new course around the corner. I was excited to see a Japanese restaurant that's open so late since I finish at 9pm. I was not disappointed. I love Katsu Curry and Marugame's Katsu Curry is absolutely delicious! It's worth trying if you're in the area or passing by. Liverpool St station is across the road so it makes for an easy dinner alternative to take back home. I have been a couple of times now and the service has been perfect, I have not had any problems at all. The staff is friendly and easy to talk to, it makes Marugame an easy option. Denis who I often see has been incredible and never disappoints with his attitude and service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

If you happen to be around Liverpool Street and in a hurry, I strongly suggest checking out this spot for some mouthwatering udon and katsu curry. The prices are fantastic, the service is efficient, and they offer a decent amount of seating. Without a doubt, I would recommend it!

Brilliant place! Very popular and now we know why. We came just 30/40 minutes after they had opened and we got the last chicken katsu curry bowl. It’s worth checking the menu and having two options just in case. I chose the chicken teriyaki and it was really good. The place looks clean. Service is friendly and helpful. I would recommend 100% Price wise it is really good, portions are big and cheap.

The place is not the same from when it opened. The tempura / fried food station I never seem to stock all the available items. Also they never placed in the right spot so unsure about what is what, especially when it comes to the gyozas/dumplings. Food is never hot in this station. They've removed all the sauces and condiments from the table. The condiment section is always messy, understocked with items and sauces. Which now seems to contain the sauces and condiments which used to be on the table. The food has changed prices, it used to be just one size and now they've got 3, but you're basically paying for more rice or noodles than the protein.

If you are a fan of thick noodles, you will love this place. The noodles were soft and chewy. The vegetables tempura was good as well as massive. Great vibes overall!

Just finished dinner, it was delicious, upped my expectations. It is a lot of food for the price, regular udon with chicken katsu curry was 9.95 and I barely finished it. Highly recommend it

So classic and basic! Very casual dining, but udon is SO fresh and good! My favourite kind of udon. I love Kake udon! I love to eat it with an Onsen egg, ginger, chilli and spring onions. Tempura batter is so crispy! Prawn tempura and courgette tempura are my favourite and much add on pieces.

I had Beef Nikutama, a shrimp tempura and a sweet potato tempura. The noodle came with an onsen egg but i gave it to others coz i couldn't have raw food. There was also a self-service station where you could tailor your dipping sauce with onion, spices, etc.
