Came here pre-movie with a mate. It was 6:30pm on a Tuesday and it was pretty quiet. However, we were lucky enough to have good enough weather to sit in the conservatory and had free reign to pick where we wanted. Naturally for the two of us I decadently decided to sit on the bigger table for more room which the staff didn't mind given how quiet it was. Our food and drinks orders were promptly taken and the food was out within minutes! I ordered the puri and the jerk chicken and my friend ordered the mac n cheese and shrimp balls. The food was incredible and the jerk chicken was a level of spice I did not expect but enjoyed. So do watch out for that when ordering because it's not mentioned on the menu. I ordered the jerk chicken with a fruit slaw and it cut through the spice perfectly. The chicken was exceptionally well seasoned and tender, I couldn't fault it at all. Same goes for the rest of the food!
Service was fine but given how quiet it was, I don't think it really mattered.
Overall, it was a great experience and I'd highly recommend visiting if you want an authentic taste of Caribbean food!
It’s a whole vibe! Def will go back!
You could be on holiday here.
Would 100 percent recommended this business.
If only more people run their food establishments like this place.
Clean, friendly, spacious.
The food was lush only one dish we wasn’t a fan of (the jerk chicken, small bones lack of meat on part used).
Fish courses and ribs were amazing.
Sides were flavoursome or refreshing.
Cocktails were alcoholic and tasty.
Staff gave our celebration special gestures. On booking staff were very helpful.
I cannot recall the name of the dishes we had, but they were nice, but rice was a bit dry. Chicken was delicious with those spices. Service was OK, and waiters were kind.
We held a private “Trini-Desi-London” hen do at Limin and could not have been happier with the service, nonstop servers and our deejay. The food was all very tasty and a great take on Caribbean fusion tapas.
Thank you to Sham, Wik and the entire team who made this bachelorette a massive success. The bride to be was very happy.
FUN, FOOD & ATMOSPHERE
Yessssss and yes again, if you can’t afford to fly off to the Caribbean don’t worry you can just jump on the train to Waterloo and walk down to Gabriel’s Wharf on the south bank and transport your body mind and soul and especially your tastebuds to what I can only describe as an oasis nestled in this idilic location found alongside the river Thames. The word Limin means, relaxing or chilling and comes from the lovely island of Trinidad. If you visit make sure you order Doubles trust me just order it. The venue has an extensive bar and a dj playing sounds of the Caribbean and so on.
So you have it all, you have water and at the moment you have sunshine but most of all you have Limin filled with class and style and atmosphere to die for. You have amazing outside space and a sectioned off beach area complete with sand and parasols. So popular is this area that you have to book.
But on to the service. This blew my mind my guest and I ordered our food and drinks and literally by the time we got back to the table, the drink arrived, very impressive indeed. The drink was loved by my guest. I ordered two Redstripe beers and they arrived a few seconds later. Honestly the food was at our table in minutes. She had curried lobster and crab dumplings, she loved it. The staff are amazing and efficient and lovely.
I ordered jerk chicken and rice and peas, it was delicious and spicy, exactly the way I like it. This is not a cheap place and service charge is automatically added to the bill which you pay before you eat, at the point of order.
My chicken was succulent and fresh and well cooked. So two beers two meals and a cocktail came to around £60.00 no complaints. The owner is hands on and you will see him working the room and even serving drinks and when he’s not doing that he’s in the kitchen cooking. I really recommend a visit I can almost guarantee you will love it. The surrounding area is mind blowing, the place is close to the oxo tower, Tate modern and most of all you have the stunning views over the river.
Had the doubles, barbecue pork ribs, jerk chicken and island tiramisu. Love the doubles and pork ribs. Jerk chicken was excellent was well, but portion is smaller than your typical street vendor. Tiramisu was a nice, tropical twist to the traditional recipe.
Been coming here with my mum since the days of LIMIN being a pop up in spitalfields market and I can genuinely say it’s gone from strength to strength ! The flavours remain authentic ,the atmosphere amazing and Sham remains welcoming! As a Trinidadian woman it’s a slice of home that I don’t have to come too far to experience !
Sad to say I walked past this place for many years and now I have eaten in LIMIN restaurant it is one of my favourite places to eat in Southbank. Amazing Trinidadian cuisine and cocktails which makes you feel like you are in Trinidad. Thanks Wik and Sham for making our event amazing!
The whole place has a great vibe and atmosphere that really emerses you in a Caribbean world and makes you feel on a holiday. Renelle and Gokul, me and my family’s table service, were very polite and kind and made us feel at home. The food and drinks were great and had some amazing flavours! I would recommend the “Don’t Punch Me” from the non alcoholic drinks menu, you can really taste the fruits and it makes you feel like you are relaxed on a Caribbean beach. Overall I would say this experience was a 10/10! I would highly recommend!!
Delicious, beautifully presented Caribbean food. It’s also fairly priced. Atmosphere is chilled and relaxing considering it’s located in very busy Southbank. I will definitely be coming back.
