The man on the underground said to head to Holborn and go in the first pub we came to, so we did. Actually not as easy as you think mind. The George, what a find.
The welcome from the girl behind the bar was so nice. She made us feel very at home and not out of place, very full of suits and to do folk (me in a full alkit down coat and bobble hat 😄, it was cold and raining!!!
A pint of Hells and large glass of Picpul was just over £16. Not bad for London's inflated prices.
We ordered some cheesy chips as well. Pilled high with bubbling cheese and lovely welcome and great carb hit to sup up some of the beer!
Go in, say hello.and have a great experience. The other food look great, plates pilled high.
Nice place to come for a drink (or a few drinks) after work. Staff are very nice and friendly, especially the lady with the Australian accent.
Have been coming here for last few weeks on way home
Very nice friendly bar - good outdoor seating area and decent size indoors
In better times a sports bar but probably no so much during these times
Prices reasonable for london- yheybdo food but not tried any
Friendly staff and all seems safe as can be during covid times
I was unfortunately victim of a mugging & phone theft near the pub. I walked in for help and am eternally grateful for the care and support shown by the staff while I was shaken and hurt, particularly by the waitress who assisted me. She gave me water, treated my wounded knees, helped me phone the police, helped me get into contact with my friends, gave me advice, showed a great deal of care and made sure I was in good hands from the start to end of my ordeal. This was greatly appreciated as such kindness is not common. The humanity shown really stood out to me. Thank you for helping me in my time of need.
Nice clean friendly bar but £7.30 for a pint 🤪
An excellent place. Close to everything but quiet and free from the West End madness. Free from that twofaced friendliness of staff. Just normal. I would giwe 6 stars if it was possible
This was a very traditional pub with a friendly atmosohere.
Good Gin selection, perhaps when you buy in your gin you could try mermaid gin from the Isle of Wight. Will definately visit you again.
Do you serve breakfast?
After being turned away from the Ship Tavern despite a confirmed reservation, my team and I stumbled on the George. The staff were super nice and took us in even though we were probably an unexpectedly large group. We had a lovely dinner sitting outside. The courtesy we received was the best London has to offer. I am glad we had the opportunity to dine here.
The best place in london to have food, drink with your mates and when you want to enjoy a chilled day! Highly suggest and I’m Italian ;) never wrong in food and drinks choices:D
Best service on the planet.
Food is excellent. Loved it.
Greetings from Austria!
Love this pub. Been coming here for years and the service is exemplary. Compliments to both gentlemen behind the bar. They know their drinks and their customer service is first class. Thank you best wishes, Saira x
The English breakfast was great. The beer was great. The staff is great and very friendly. Love the place!
Great pub and friendly staff.
Me and my friends love this pub and have been coming here for years. The prices are decent for central London and the bar staff are lovely and friendly.
Waiters were really really nice, especially man with gray hair and lady with brown hair and face shield! Very friendly, joked with me and my friends, gave us blankets. Prices reasonable like for the area. Definitely coming back there! Thank you
Great place for a pint of Guinness. The pies are good as well.
easy to get a table, unbooked, at 6pm on a Wednesday post-lockdown, it was great ☺️☺️
they had Aspall on tap which is great for cider drinkers!! it felt amazing to be out again. There are some heaters outside (but they don't cover the whole outside area) ☺️
