Wish I could give more than 5 stars, this place is an absolute gem! We sat inside by the kitchen and it was a pleasure to watch the chef, all be himself putting out plate after plate of amazing food. Everything was delicious, we had prawns, ceviche, sardines, halibut and steak. Sooo good. And oysters. And get the Bloody Mary! Service was fab too. Will 100% be back soon.
Great place, great food and great people. From the service to the whole dining experience, the dressed oysters are a must, a lot of interesting flavours going on in each mouthful.
The mackerel was Definately a highlight and the ceviche as well as the prawns were also really tasty.
The whitebait had a lovely crucnchiness and kick š to it, wich I love. The wine list has pairing wines according to what you are eating.
Was so good, that I am going back today for a tasting pairing wine š· meal, with ice cream favour guessing at the end....
You might still have a slot available. Slots at 3 and 5pm today.
Highly recommended š***** more delicious food pics šø to follow.
Went for the mussels and didnāt get to try them. But all the plates we did try were delicious, with an outstanding balance between the seafood flavours, the acidity, and the other elements. The Ox cheek & miso croquettes are addictive. The ceviche was the only one that lacked a bit of acidity (proper of a ceviche), and I didn't really got the combination on the pickled strawberries dressed oysters. On the other hand, the other three dressed oysters were great and so were the king prawns and the mackerel skewers.
Such friendly service! And food to back it up. Absolutely loved the ox tail croquettes and the ceviche was stunning. The fish just melted in your mouth. The only thing that was a bit average was the crispy chilli whitetail. Otherwise, great flavours and a really enjoyable experience. (Ignore the photos - we were too hungry so started eating before pictures could be taken!)
Pound-a-pop oyster happy hour(s) under the arches at Deptford? Count me in. We spent a delightfully convivial afternoon at this great little place. The food is quite remarkable. Particularly enjoyed the whitebait, the mussels, the bavette and the croquettes. Oh, and the oysters of course - the whiskey spray was a revelation. A wonderfully innovative take on the Bloody Mary, too.
Donāt let the neon sign fool you. Yes youāre in deptford & you donāt trust a fish place but with Sharkbait & Swim you can! Not only can you trust them, youāll wonder why you hadnāt gone before!
This isnāt over priced surf & turf. It also isnāt over priced fish and chips.
This is a truly wonderful experience tucked away in the deptford carriage way arches.
The food is fantastic, truly. Also, itās fantastic food for wonderfully wallet friendly prices.
I canāt recommend Sharkbite and Swim enough!
Great food and drink, lovely helpful staff and at a very reasonable price! Will definitely return againā¦and again!
A really unique vibe and tremendously enjoyable experience. The food is exquisite and the service excellent. We loved everything, especially the oyster dressings and Bloody Mary. The sharing plates were so yummy and with lots of flavours. A new favourite of ours
We're local and come here regularly for a treat. We're so lucky this has opened in the area.
The food is consistently delicious: excellent quality and beautifully presented. Fish and seafood are the focus but there are a few other dishes including excellent desserts. The menu is evolving all the time and the staff are friendly and enthusiastic about the food and drinks on offer.
Small place so book if you want to guarantee getting in. It's just 30 seconds' walk from Deptford Station if you're not local!
Good food. Oyster were fresh, dishes were really unique. Highly recommended.
