Really friendly, attentive staff/owner, great prices for London, incredible sandwiches. You HAVE to try the new “gourmet” sandwich!

This surpassed my expectations, I had the gourmet schnitzel and it was delicious (and huge) ended up being two meals. The place itself is really cute, you may have to be quick if eating in as spots fill up fast. Staff are very friendly and genuinely want you to enjoy the food. Will be back!

When you wonder around London you will pass street signs. Most of them go unnoticed and yet for the keen observer you will spot many of the original 86 London boroughs . One such place is Finsbury town hall now in the middle of Islington, with the Borough of Finsbury sign. Around the corner of which is Johnny Schnitzel. This small but perfectly formed cafe provides not only the largest schnitzel I have had since Austria but the tastiest. Although the price is high and sitting next to the road traffic and local strange people is a downer you soon forget this when presented with a hot & massive sandwich. No tradies in sight but the sandwich is what you come for and although I am a bigger chap (my gym is next to greggs so I have no chance) I had to take half home with me.

Stumbled upon this cafe and decided to have lunch. I got a feta cheese salad, the portion was big, super fresh and yummy. Plus the staff were so friendly. Would recommend if you’re looking for an affordable but to eat which is healthy and fresh (and flavourful!)

Beyond big, like I got this baby and I'm like how am I supposed to eat all this. Sure Master Chef tells you to be generous, but heck surely there's a limit. Reviews are what drew me and they bang on, here is a guy who wants to feed you, and make sure you not hungry after. It was raining and I asked him if I cound buy a bag, he's like no take one. Love this, generosity personified. Will be back ...

Great little shop with deli items, sandwiches, salads. The portions were generous and the food was freshly made. It was really friendly and quick service as well. The special shnitzel was delicious and huge. The focaccia was especially good as was the cheese, hot shnitzel and crisp coleslaw. I think pickles and/or kimchi would have been a welcome addition or a hot sauce. So that would be my only recommendation, maybe something I would do if I was customising it at home.

Italian-styled schnitzel sandwiches out of a little corner deli. Big portions, friendly staff, good ingredients. Definitely a solid niche you won't find elsewhere. A few chairs and tables outside, shame about the traffic on Amwell Street. Docked a star for the focaccia - it was fine, but given the stellar reviews I had hoped it would taste fresher. Otherwise, top marks! Great lunch option in the area.

One of the best sandwich places in London. Me and my friend visited yesterday and had a a falafel salad and their schnitzel sandwich which was insane! The owners were super friendly and I’ll definitely be visiting again soon!
