Enjoyed our meal at Royal Mahal! Waiters were very attentive and food came out fairly quickly! The Dynamite Prawns were nice and crunchy, packed with flavour. The nihari had tender meat and was quite nice. Unfortunately, the biryani didn’t taste fresh and the chicken was quite dry.
My family and I recently visited Royal Mahal Restaurant in Tooting on a weekend, and we had a wonderful time. We started with their famous Masala Fish and Chicken Wings, both of which were absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked and the masala sauce was flavorful and spicy, but not too hot. The chicken wings were also crispy and juicy, and the sauce was tangy and sweet.
For our main course, we ordered the Lamb Karahi. This dish is a speciality of the restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was rich and complex. We also ordered a side of naan bread to soak up all the delicious sauce.
The service at Royal Mahal was also excellent.
Our waiter was friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant became very busy very quickly. He made sure that we had everything we needed, and he even helped us choose the perfect dishes to order.
We have been going to Royal Mahal for several years now, and the food quality has always been excellent. We have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. We highly recommend Royal Mahal to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian meal.
Special thank you to the staff:
We want to give a special thank you to Aslam Khan & Anjali the staff at Royal Mahal for making our dining a very memorable and amazing experience!
Great restaurant, really recommend. So many dishes and drinks to choose from and all the ones we tried were really good. Prawn dynamite, chicken balti, mixed grill and the wide selection of naans were the top favourites.Really nice service too, our waiter Salam was very welcoming and friendly. Perfect restaurant to go with the family or even alone, the decor is beautiful and food plus service matches the high quality standard.
Great food at very reasonable price. Vast menu to cover meat eaters and non meat eaters. Samosas were delicious as was the onion bhajis. Atmosphere and decor is very traditional of an Indian restaurant. Seating is comfortable - note no alcohol allowed. These non alcoholic cocktails were brilliant.
This is a great location for a posh curry. Amazing food and value. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of choice and delicious options for vegetarians as well as those who like their meaty options. Buzzing atmosphere and lots of local bars and dessert options near by.
Our experience at Royal Mahal was superb. We enjoyed the food thoroughly from starters to mains and dessert. The service was fantastic and very attentive. Abas did a amazing job. We will definitely be back for more.
Wow great meal for great prices. They don’t serve alcohol so just fyi. The place gets busy so service can be a bit haphazard but all servers are friendly. Loved all the food.
Lovely food and great decor!
Our server Ayesha was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Will defo be coming again!
I attended a wedding reception celebration in the banqueting suite. You have to go upstairs to access venue so may not be so good for less mobile people. But once in banqueting Hall, it is lovely. Very well decorated, good service, good food. Staff were friendly and attentive.
From the service to the food to the atmosphere - everything was brilliant! I would 100% return and recommend to friends and family. Each staff member was lovely, especially ‘Aslam Khan’; he was incredibly attentive, helpful and friendly.
It was quite busy when we went (Tuesday, around 8pm) and another member of staff kindly moved us to a quieter section of the restaurant which I really appreciated.
The food was easily 10/10, everything was fresh and delicious! We ordered plenty off the menu as everything sounded nice. The price-point of each dish was really good too.
Plenty of street parking available.
I recently dined at the Royal Mahal in Tooting, and while the food was delicious, my experience was somewhat mixed. We ordered the chicken karahi and tandoori roti, and the taste was okay, the portion size was disappointingly small. However, the falooda was absolutely divine and the rabbri was top-notch. The sweetness was just right. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant, but I do believe that the staff could benefit from better training and a more positive attitude.
Visited here this evening for a birthday meal. The restaurant was very busy, so I assume it’s quite popular.
We were around 15 on the table. The service was pleasant, as in the waiters were nice, however the actual service could be improved on. They didn’t hand the food to the correct people nor read out the food properly. Despite the rushed service, the waiters were very pleasant.
I ordered a chilli paneer starter and chips. Both were lovely.
There was no complaints about how the food tastes amongst the group. Only gripe was the service.
Would recommend this place for couples or smaller groups.
The highlight of the evening was definitely the charismatic waiter who danced his was to my friend with her birthday cake.
Our party of 5 adults and 5 kids was very well catered for and looked after. The restaurant was very busy since it was Eid weekend but our food and drink came in good time. We had more than enough table space which allowed the kids to enjoy themselves doing drawings and sharing books before and after eating. All the dishes we ordered were excellent. The only issue I had was that it took over 2 days to get the confirmation of my online booking which made for an uneasy wait as I tried to assure my group that we would be definitely dining there, but no problems at all once we were there.
5* Food and Service. Came here for the first time with my family from up north (1 hour drive). Aslam Khan and Anjali was exceptional in their work. Felt very welcomed and was very friendly. Will be coming again soon!
Food is delicious and I highly recommend the platter if you go, the chips were amazing!
I was pleasantly surprised as to how good the food is here. Its very tasty and the portions are great value for money. There is also a really good variety of options on the menu and the atmosphere and service are very good.
The dynamite prawns were delicious! We also really enjoyed eating the mixed grill!
Good tasty food the Desi way!
Pros: Cleanliness, ambience, food quality and potion size for prices.
Cons: Seating felt a bit cramped up but nothing bad. Waiters seemed to be overworked by the end of the day, but still struggled to keep up a smile.
Overall nice experience, good food and pocket friendly, specially if in large groups.
