I had lunch at this fabulous family run restaurant and I had such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the staff were happy and friendly and the owners were just as nice and welcoming. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Streatham.
I have to mention their delicious cocktails too, they was so delicious and reasonably priced.
Went here for dinner on a Saturday as a group of 4. There were plenty of available tables at around 7pm. Initially we thought the music was going to be very loud inside, but if you walk in a bit more it's actually fine.
We had 4 cocktails, 4 mains and one portion of nachos for £107. Note you cannot leave a tip on the card machine and service is not included in the bill.
I enjoyed the drinks and the food and the hats made for some funny pictures. I'll go back!
I had a fantastic dining experience here! The service was impeccable, and the prices were very reasonable for the generous portions of delicious food. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere was authentic with a Mexican vibe.
The food was absolutely wonderful, and taste was totally out of this world!
By far THIS IS the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to!
The shoots of Tequila, the hats on the ceilings, the Latina music it really makes you feel your in Mexico!
I will totally come again!
I also would encourage you “the reader” to come and visit El Chico’s restaurant!
You will find the authenticity of gastronomic and atmosphere and rate it the same as me!

Amazing food. I had the prawns and the enchiladas. Everything tasted amazing. And the tropical Long Island ice tea was soooo good!
I also had a wonderful server called Litza, such a lovely person, friendly and welcoming. I told her it was my first time there and she made suggestions and made me feel very welcomed into the establishment.
The supper was tasty and delicious...I had the potatoes skins and pulled pork Burito...very generous portions..staff are attentive
This place has been open a long time but it's my first visit back in about 5 years...Quality of food is still great. An absolute must is the starter king prawns in garlic butter 5*...steak and the normal grill all good but they lost a star for dessert, although options good they had chimichanga which I've not had for years but I was very disappointed with the end result. Prices are great and service is good. The menus itself need to be updated they felt sticky and old not very nice. This is the only Mexican In the area so I'm glad they're still here!!
Food was lovely, hand no complaints. Will come back again. I had beef enchiladas with Mexican rice and a candy shop cocktail. All was lovely. My partner had the chico combo which consisted of bbq ribs and chicken, he stated it was nice and he does not have any complaints either.
The food was delicious! and the service was excellent, super friendly staff :) . i’m shocked on how empty the place was considering it’s excellence. me and my boyfriend went in and had the chicken burrito and the fajitas the flavours and presentation was amazing!! , so were the drinks we both had the Caribbean long islands and it was absolutely superb.
will definitely be returning !
Simple and fresh with good music and prompt service. The place has a good number of vegetarian options, which can be further customised on request.
The guacamole was freshly made and not processed like some other places where I have eaten. There was interesting use of coriander in the salads that came as sides to the main dish.
The salsa, was fresh too, but it has a little something missing, which I can't quite put my finger on.
The portions were substantial, and there was no stinginess with ingredients like goat cheese.
Overall, this is certainly a place to revisit.

Good food, large portions and polite service. However, two things restrain me from giving 5 stars:
1. Starters were served with main meal which does not make it a “starter”. We sat for 30 minutes without any food and then received all.
2. Drinks. Drinks were ok but I feel like they’re were not make from very good ingredients (e.g. cheap cranberry juice).
Overall, good place to eat with your friends/family.
Food was nice, didn't enjoy the calamari so they removed it from my bill. Staff were friendly & helpful. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the cocktails were amazing!!
I absolutely love this restaurant, the atmosphere is very friendly and the staff are welcoming, pleasant and ready to honour your every wish.
The food is mouth watering, melts in your mouth so much taste, juicy texture and pleasing to my stomach. The cocktails are made perfect, they top up the alcohol if needed, no extra charge.
I visit at least once or twice a month, can't live without it. Big thank you to the chef, management and staff. My life would not be the same without you guys xx love it
Waitress was fantastic, they messed our drinks order up and gave us some nachos on the house alongside an apology. Food was great, recommend the fajitas.
Brilliant service that was super fast! Delicious food (plus great vegetarian options). Amazing mocktails, really yummy and lovely, friendly service. Could not recommend it more it was lovely and pretty reasonably prices too
