This place was a little bougie for my liking, would have preferred a more classic, more low key Indian restaurant.
On the same theme, a lot of effort was put into how the food was presented, but every time it tasted just as good as it looked.
I'm not sure if I will come back to this restaurant as there are other, more vegetarian friendly ones that looked more intriguing I found out about after dining here, but I was not disappointed with my experience. Overall, this restaurant will be better served for a carnivore than vegetarian due to their more extensive meat options. The vegetarian portion of the menu is sadly quite limited for Indian food.
It is an average Indian restaurant and nothing outstanding. Food is expensive for the quantity although it was tasty. Service was good and we did not wait much. A table has been arranged without reservation
Excellent experience. The best Indian I've been out of many. Food, service and atmosphere were all on point. Fair prices for the location and nice and quiet, as well as spacious indoors. Recommended.
The food really stood out compared to other Indian restaurants I've visited. And Indian is my favorite! What really stood out was the Bhel puri, a fresh puffed rice dish i never had before, and the Mushroom Bhaji in which the mushrooms somehow managed to stand out from the many spices. The service was kind and the interior stylish.
Delicious, lip smacking food. Everything was just yummy. We ordered these varieties and all were too good, Banarasi chat, Momos ,dal makhni, veg biryani, malai kofta, paneer masala, roti and butter naan.
It is a good Indian restaurant near the Borough Market where you can get food with a great Indian Taste. For Vegetarians please try their Vegetarian Biryani and Paneer Tikka.
Taste was authentic and price wise it's good. Please ask them to make it little bit spicy to match with Indian style.
Friends booked a table for my birthday. One of those rare places where everything seems effortless. Food flavours and textures had impressive depth and nuance, portion sizes just right. A place that knows what it wants to be, and does it very well. Lovely service.
Busy place, book a table or you will be disappointed. Lovely food, nice sized portions, melt in your mouth lamb and Butter Chicken delicious. Highly recommend!
Great food, reasonable prices! The dishes are very tasty and not oily. The menu is not hugely rich but whatever they make, they make really nice. The smell inside the restaurant is so nice, you instantly know you're at the right place. Service is nice and friendly. The place was full, yet we got what we ordered reasonably fast. I'm definitely going back there.
The food was delicious but the service was mediocre at best. The guy waiting the tables was working hard, but it wasn't a one man job, considering how busy the place was. Everything would take annoyingly long. The washroom was also disappointing. Broken dryer and no paper towel.
Oh and there is a 12.5% extra service fee.
Step into Indian Gourmet, a charming and cozy little Indian restaurant that boasts the best cocktails you'll ever taste! As you walk in, the aroma of spices and herbs fill the air, giving you a hint of the culinary delights that await you.
But it's the cocktails that steal the show here - each one crafted with the perfect blend of ingredients and spices, creating a tantalizing experience for your taste buds. You simply cannot leave Indian Gourmet without trying their Indian chai cocktail, a unique blend of tea aroma with gin that's sure to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. And if you're looking for something refreshing, their cucumber cocktail is an absolute must-try, with its cool and crisp flavors that instantly refresh your senses.
As for the food, the starters are a feast for the senses, with momos, chicken chilli, and squid dishes that will leave you wanting more. The mains are good, but the real standout is the baingan ka saalan - a flavorful vegetarian dish that's a must-try. Pair it with their Malai naan, and you're in for a treat.
And when it comes to dessert, Indian Gourmet does not disappoint. Their gazar halwa is a decadent, sweet and nutty delight, while the gulab jamun is perfectly soft and soaked in syrup - a dessert that will make your taste buds dance with joy!
Just a headsup, there might be delays in getting your order as the staff seems to be limited!
Easily some of the best Indian food I’ve tasted. Meat was perfectly cooked all dishes ordered were incredibly delicious.
Would recommend booking to save disappointment as it seems to get quite busy for dinner.
Within a walkable distance from the borough market..
Hesitant at first after reading a few negative reviews. But the food is really good. Ordered Garlic chilli chicken, Hariyali chicken tikka and chicken biryani.
All tasted yum 😋😋
Food taste and presentation is good and worth the price.
Wow!
Ever since visiting the UK for the first time locals kept telling me how they would get their weekly curry and how good it is. Let me tell you; they were right. Indian food is by far the best I have ever eaten and I tried loads of kitchens, from South America to Europe and Asia.
This restaurant is no different and an absolute blessing for your stomach!
This is a wonderful restaurant from where we availed takeaway service in London. We ordered different vegetarian dishes on 2 different days.
I would say that the food had authentic Indian taste which unfortunately I did not get in Glasgow till date.
Taste was good but service was awesome. Some freebies for a late packaging on 1 of the days as well. Food quantity was good and enough for 2 people.
I visited with a group of 7 on a busy Tuesday night. They were having to turn people away, it was that popular. I could see why: the food was great and the service matched. The onion salad served with the poppadoms was finely chopped and fresh, and the side salad with the starters similarly fresh, which is normally a good sign. The starters and mains themselves were delicious. I had the Paneer Shaslick and the Pistachio Lamb Korma, and tried 4 or 5 of the side dishes. Will definitely return. Oh, and a nice bonus that they serve decent alcohol free beer which is unusual for a curry house.
