Lovely spot in Crystal Palace. Coffee is amazing, good selection of baked goods. Bread price is also decent. £4.30 for a huge loaf of bread (while more than Sainsburys) the bread more than compensates in quality, taste and freshness! Highly recommend a visit. Staff very friendly as well.

A wonderful little cafe in Crystal Palace. This was our first time here and definitely will not be our last. The cafe has an old-world charm with delightful little pieces that make up the decor. We ordered the Victoria Sponge, Banana and Dates cake, an Americano, and an iced chocolate. It’s rare that every item is exceptional, but this really was the case. The staff are friendly, polite, and very attentive to diners’ needs and requests. Great in the evenings when the coffee-and-cake yearnings set in.

I visited during a busy lunch rush on May 17th and the team of folk behind the counter were lovely, professional and working great as a team with good humour and charm. When food prices have gone up across the board at all cafes, pubs etc, this human element is what sets one place apart from the next, so I hope they’re appreciated by head office, and the entitled segment of the ‘Triangle’ clientele who pop up in some of the reviews here. I don’t know any of the staff there and this is a genuine review. Hospitality industry workers deserve more respect in UK culture. Treat workers with the same courtesy you’d like to be treated with. It’s weird that some adults don’t seem to think that applies when dealing with service staff. Food offering wise, the cheese toasties here are delicious thanks to the crucial part of any sandwich - the bread - being good at Blackbird bakery outlets. The cakes are fairly pricey but similarly very good. I’d say the pastries (croissants etc) are the weaker part of the product range; whenever I’ve tried a croissant (from different branches) it’s not buttery inside with crisp flaky pastry around the top, but instead a bit dry and sad looking.🤓

I absolutely love this cafe! It is so so cosy, the food and drinks are so gorgeous. I really reccomend the coronation tofu sandwiches, it is my favourite and tastes so fresh and delicious. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly, if they have run out of a particular sndwich they are alwaysso accomodating and will make one up for you if you ask, as it staes on their menu sign. Honestly never been disappointed here xx My only improvement would be if it was dog friendly!

Probably the best bakery on the Crystal Palace triangle. Yes, it's pretty expensive, but it's well stocked and the bread - every one I've tried anyway - is delicious. The coffee and croissants are also lovely too.

Nice place, good chocolate croissant, the latte is too much milk but ask for less. Good bread too and nice staff

I’ve been going to Blackbird Bakery for a few years now to buy bread but finally decided to leave a review because I bought an absolutely stand out Stollen from here before Christmas. Maybe the best Stollen I’ve ever had! The bread is also great (fan of the brown sourdough) and they always kindly slice it if you ask. Plus the bread loyalty stamp is a nice extra. It’s a bit pricey but worth it for nice quality and a treat. Also they make a great lamington!

Lost count of the number of times I have been here over the years. Sure, it looks like it needs decorating, but so what? Great coffee, great cakes and I always buy a loaf. You get left alone with your paper in the morning :-)

I go to the Crystal Palace branch every time & it's consistently good bread & great cakes. Also buy their muesli as well which I love. I see there are mixed reviews about their coffee but I've always found it perfect & who should be visiting a large chain for coffee these days....nobody! The staff are very efficient but do always seems slightly unhappy. Given the company have stayed open during the pandemic & all branches have taken a lot of cash I would hope they are paid above average wages. Will always return.

If there were more stars I would vote for more. Great environment. Staff that make you part of the family. Fantastic coffee. Amazing cakes. Always good to be back every time I'm in London to see a friendly face and have a great coffee and snack

Love this bakery. Their sourdough is really tasty and lasts well, and they have a loyalty card which is a nice touch. I wish there was one closer to where I live….please open one in Penge or Beckenham!
