Good food and mood - variety on the menu and prominence in flavours! Didn’t quite like then lobster noodles despite looking very forward to it. It was chewy and not well seasoned.
The beef was impeccable and would definitely order it again!
Atmosphere was very calm, a couple tables with few people around but the rest were empty..
Came here on Sunday for the afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday.
The decor is beautiful and the staff are very friendly.
Crazy rich asian themed with menus displayed on the tables inside the crazy rich asian books. Loved the bird cages and birds on the tables where you could tell your wishes to and clip onto the surrounding bird cages in the restaurant. Also loved the wind up chirping birds on the table.
The waiter explained the menu selection, and we received a complimentary cocktail to start. This was a tea cocktail and was really tasty, non alcohol versions can also be served.
We picked our teas and selected our afternoon tea option and were quickly served a beautiful spread, and the waiter explained what each dish was.
I must admit the savoury portions are very small and they don't let you know that you could get a free refill of any of the afternoon tea foods but because it's more of a higher end afternoon tea we asked the waiter and he brought us another serving.
We thoroughly enjoyed every part of the afternoon tea and loved all the details put into it.
The toilets here are also amazingly designed.
I will definitely be back again
We came here for the afternoon tea. Just to note the restaurant on Google comes up as closed but it is open for tea. The ambience and service was so good, amazing even. Decor was wow and the little touches of the experiences were great. The savoury food was great, so was the sweet- everything was amazing! And it was just enough food. Tea was also good. Afternoon tea is £52 per person and I would definitely recommend going, especially on a special occasion!
Kai was my first experience at a high end Michelin star restaurant amd it didn't disapoint. Genuinely the best food I have ever eaten. The pudding in particular was the single best thing I have eaten, ever.
The staff were lovely and very friendly. One gent even offered to teach me how to use chop sticks. Very genuine people that help make you feel at home.
Incredible place. I would highly recommend.
What an experience. Beautiful tent with pitches on 2 levels. The food was excellent. Good advice on the quantity of dishes. Top spot.
The food is great especially the chili lobster. It was one of the best dishes I’ve ever tried. The duck was also very nice but I wouldn’t say it’s that special. Also shrimp wasabi for starters, yummm! It’s honestly quite pricey but it was expected.
The food is so good
Wasabi shrimp is a must, salt& pepper calamari is so good also crispy duck highly recommended
Staff are welcoming
Service is 10/10
We were very excited to try out Kai in Mayfair. This 1 Michelin star spot has had some really good reviews. The atmosphere and interior is really nicely designed and quite unique. The food was decent and the wine selection was good. Highlight of the evening was the chocolate dessert. One of the best things to try.
Great restaurant with amazing food!
The service is great and couldn’t find one thing to improve. I will come again for sure!

Went as a group of 9, very calm and relaxing surroundings allowing you to be at ease throughout your whole time there. From the beginning staff members are super friendly and very attentative. It's very rare to meet people that genuinely remember each specific order per person and bring the food to those who have ordered a specific dish. Fantastic in that regards to avoid confusion.
Chicken, beef and lamb are the halal options here though the chef did mention one of the beef dishes isn't so I would double check before ordering.
The portion sizes for meals was slightly on the smaller side but the food quality was very good.
We ordered a bit of everything and everything we tasted did not fall below expectations. Burst of flavours from a variety of dishes. The menu has a variety of options so choose to your hearts content.
Pricing is reasonable, you will be spending more than you usually would but that is met by quality standards in staff and taste in food.
Would I go here again, yes. Spent roughly 3 hours there and enjoyed the whole occasion.
Celebrated my husband's birthday there. Had an amazing three course meals - Chinese New Year menu. The dessert, " Chocolate does grow on trees" is to die for and must try dessert. Never had a sparkling alcoholic tea before and it was levitating! Definitely recommend it if you want a fine dining experience with authentic flavour food.
Chinese Whispers afternoon tea @ Kai was awesome.
Really fun and cute. Service and welcome was awesome. Lovely downstairs room which is well suited to a relaxing afternoon.
All the food was very tasty and pretty as a picture.
Will definitely have to try dinner next time.
An absolute delight! The food is incredibly delicious, with a unique and special taste that sets it apart. The service is impressively fast, and the waitstaff is kind and attentive. While the atmosphere could be improved, given the restaurant's small size, it's still a great choice for quiet family dinners and peaceful evenings. A culinary experience that's not to be missed.
I have a dream... to walk into Kai on a hot summer day and to take a refreshing, zesty bite of their Cake & Cream dessert, reminding me of the joys of being alive. That is how we felt on our visit to Kai Mayfair.
We walked in and were greeted by professionals who took our coats and seated us within a very contemporary Chinese ambience. The dress code was smart casual. The music was soft and there were various decorative elements that elevated the experience.
We were promptly given the menus and this is what we ordered:
1. Wasabi Prawns
2. Aromatic Crispy Bean
3. 18 Hour Pork Belly
4. Lip Tinglin Mushrooms
5. Long Life Noodles (veg)
6. Nanyang Chicken
7. Broccolini
8. Chocolate Grows on Trees
9. Pandan Creme Brulee
10. Cake & Cream
Wasabi Prawns: these were the first to arrive and this is the best wasabi I've ever had. Often it can be either too strong or too weak but Kai's chef has mastered this dish. The balance of flavours was impeccable and the prawns were extremely fresh. 10/10 for this one.
Aromatic Crispy Bean: this was a veggie take on their popular crispy duck and it was flawlessly executed. I can't fathom how they managed to get the tofu/beancurd so thin and crispy but the texture was spot on. The pancakes were paper thin and the sauce was rich, sweet, and delicate. Another 10/10.
Pork Belly: again another flawless dish with cucumber foam atop a shocking soft piece of meat that literally melted in my mouth. The accompanying sauce was exactly what you'd expect to help balance this dish.
Lip Tinglin Mushrooms: I liked this dish since it came with a spicy broth that went excellently with the steamed rice. There were 3 kinds of mushrooms with it, all with different textures- made for a strong main
Long Life Noodles: the broth was fabulous with depth of flavour. It had an amazing umami that elevated the perfectly cooked noodles. There was a scattering of mushrooms that added a firm texture to the soft noodles. 10/10.
Chocolate Grows on Trees: this dish made me feel like I was a child again, running around in the forest tripping over rocks and falling face first into a pile of dirt. A replica of that memory but with a burst of falvour and texture. The favourite part of this was the exquisite liquid chocolate that oozed out of the brownie.
Creme Brulee: I was apprehensive about trying this, afraid of the eggy taste. I was pleasantly surprised when my suspicions were washed away by the perfect creme brulee. The Pandan flavour perfectly balanced the richness and this was a technical masterpiece.
Cake & Cream: the dream we have was aptly summarized by this dish. It was a sensory masterpiece: our eyes, noses, and tongues were impressed by the freshness of the orange and the delicate ice cream atop a fluffy cake. 11/10.
All in all, the service was excellent, the food was delicate, and the experience was flawless. 5/5.
Nice resturant and friendly staff were there.
The place need in advance booking to visit it.
The food was good (but not wow) Chinese food where I liked the appetizers more than the main course.
We have order different dishes but I like the on toast appetizers, shrimp, beef steak and chicken spicy.
Worth to try and honestly the staff was super kind.
(Note: this place is one of Adele favourite resturant in London :) )
We loved the afternoon tea at Kai Mayfair, and we particularly love to come over spring/ summer time. Good selection of food & drinks, pretty pretty tableware and food. Tastewise I’d give a 7/10 (Asian savoury selection could be more outstanding). Service felt a bit rushed at afternoon tea. Would love to try out their dinner menu soon!
