This was the BEST PASTA IVE HAD IN MY LIFE!!! You HAVE to try Bancone; it is not at all overhyped!
The silk handkerchiefs were so lovely and thin, and the walnut butter lent the perfect amount of sweetness and saltiness. Definitely a classic Bancone dish!
The mussel tagliatelle was also incredibly well balanced, with a hint of tanginess and spiciness. I have really never tasted flavours like this before 😍
You can skip the pork ragu though because it was nothing special.
I also made a reservation on the wrong day and couldn't cancel online because it was less than 24h away, but I called the restaurant and the staff handled it right away, which I really appreciated! Really loved my experience here.
Bancone Golden Square was a real treat. The staff are very attentive. The food is absolutely delicious and surprisingly very good value, as is the wine by the glass. I really recommend Bancone for lunch or dinner. Ideal for pre-theatre. Good lighting and accoustics (unlike the restaurant which was in the location previously).
Wonderful meal and experience at Bancone Golden Square!
The food was delicious and service was really welcoming and attentive. We sat at the counter and got talking to Gary who was very friendly and charming. We didn’t have room for dessert so he very kindly made us some lovely cocktails to finish off our meal! Bancone never fails to disappoint, thanks so much for the hospitality!
I went here for the restaurant and was served by Julius a wonderful waiter. I was very impressed with both the Duck Ragu and the Silk Handkerchiefs with conifer egg yolk. I would also recommend the chocolate dessert with mascarpone, yum! I am impressed with the reasonable price considering the high quality. I will be returning 👌🏽

Food was fantastic and not expensive at all for the quality. The lime, chilli and garlic spaghetti was simple and very well done, it had a surprisingly good amount of flavour for such a simple dish and for less than £10 it was a really nice lunch stop. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick, quality inexpensive lunch or dinner.
Went for my partners birthday and we really enjoyed ourselves. Highlights were:
- The lowest priced red on the wine list is very nice if you like a fruity primitivo.
- The mains are very rich. The pasta is cooked amazingly well and the flavours are lovely.
- The chocolate desert with lime and mascarpone is absolutely delicious.
- Our waiter for the night was really lovely: attentive, chatty, efficient and he was kind enough to wish my partner happy birthday (had read the notes I added to the booking).
Next time we'd skip the starters, the focaccia was quite tasty but it would have been nice if it was warm or served with hot olive oil. The grilled artichoke, romesco, chervil dish could do with a bit more artichoke or something, felt a little lacking.
Atmosphere is lovely and it is definitely somewhere we would go again.
Food was great pastas were really good however the selection of dessert was poor. 3 options and one was out, we ordered the other 2 , not impressed.
Stumbled upon this great restaurant whilst exploring London. Tucked away down a side street, when you enter you're greeted by the view of fresh pasta being made right in front of you, and friendly staff ready to seat you.
We did not make a reservation but the front of house was more than welcoming and found us a table for 2 instantly.
The wine selection was vast yet all perfectly picked for the food. The speed of service from ordering the wine was possibly the fastest I've ever seen. The food menu is small but everything on the menu looks and smells incredible as you see it whisked away from the kitchen to other diners.
We ordered a Rosemary and Sea Salt Focaccia, a Silk handkerchiefs, walnut butter, confit egg yolk pasta and lastly the Spicy pork & nduja ragù, mafalde pasta. Again with the speed of service, from ordering the Focaccia to receiving it was incredible how fast yet fresh it came. The taste itself was sublime. Once finished with the starter, the mains were delivered promptly.
The silk handkerchiefs were a light yet rich dish with plenty on the plate, and the spicy pork and nduja ragu was the same, with just the right level of spice. Both of these pastas were incredible and worth every penny.
For two glasses of white wine, one starter (two pieces of focaccia) and two pastas we ended up spending less than £50 including the service charge which is well deserved for the staff. Excellent food, service and atmosphere which I will definitely come back to in the future.
My favourite pasta place in London. Not always on the menu but the beef ragu is one of my favourite dishes in London and the seasonal burrata is always fantastic. The egg yolk dish is also delicious and interesting, but very rich. Would recommend it as a sharing dish for the table as opposed to having it as a main.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. One of the two pasta dishes we had was a bit too buttery but the other (duck ragù) was delicious. Will be going again.
Great pasta, amazing starters and amazing staff. The focaccia was a bit dry (we did go Sunday eve so maybe that’s why). Highly recommend
Service was slow, but friendly. Covent Garden overall experience much better than Golden Square. Pork Ragu still a favorite- pasta a little under on this and bucatini a little overcooked. Drinks were amazing! Margaritas (delicious) but are the size of a shot so go for something else for value.
