Came down here a few weeks ago and promised to leave a review so here it is!
The place is fantastic in every possible metric! The food is of high quality and reaches the table at a nice pace. You're started off with a complementary jug of ice tea, which is always welcome especially in a city like London, where nothing comes cheap, let alone free! The menu is varied and very well-priced, with a mix of Egyptian and Indian dishes to please a diverse crowd.
Service is phenomenal! Denisa and Jahidta (sorry if I have misspelled your name) provide wonderful service. The kitchen is also open to minor modifications to the dishes within reason.
The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. My family and I have been several times and, we've always felt comfortable as customers of the establishment in every possible way.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend visiting Mawlana, as it ticks all the boxes and more!
Delicious food, massive portions, good service. Ordered the grill platter for two - the one in my picture. Could have easily fed four :) Generous and yummy.
The food is sooooo good! The staff is friendly, patient and has some good recommendations on food to eat. Very clean and hookah available out front. I will be back again and again.
A dive into some Egyptian cuisine for lunch yesterday.
The waitress was helpful to explain what Egyptian dishes they had although not all were listed on the menu.
I ordered the Molokhia (green soup) - usually served with chicken & rice
Koshary (mixing pasta, rice and brown lentils, topped with a zesty tomato sauce, garlic vinegar and garnished with chickpeas and crispy fried onions).
Bamya (lamb & okra stew)
They also had Kebda eskandarani but I didn’t have space on on this visit.
All of them were fresh, the stew being especially flavoursome.
She also made a really nice mango lassi.
Will likely be back to try other stuff
The food was great, staff are very kind and active, the only problem is that it took too long to get the food served.
Let me start by saying - WOW. Travelling in London after forever, not knowing what food places to try, which to not.. I trusted the reviews of this Egyption restaurant and I am so so glad that I did! We ordered grilled fish (sea bass) and lamb shank in the main dish, requested it to be spicy and both were scrumptious! The lamb was tender, the fish was perfectly cooked! It was so filling and worth every penny, 10/10! We also ordered kunafah, which didn't meet our expectations as much but I'd give it a 7/10. The food made up for it all however! The service provided was excellent, definitely a must visit if you're craving some good food!
Amazing place with relaxing vibe and chill atmosphere. Amazing food and tailored to your specification. My frequent and go to place. The chicken biryani is worth a try.
Wow! What an awesome and delicious food I never ever had tastiest food in my life Specially Grilled Fish, Crispy Prawns, Lamb shank, Soft and Juicy Kebab, and the price very reasonable 😋
Mawlana Restaurants in Edgware Road is a hidden gem.I had dinner there feew time and I never got disappointed . There foods is always fresh and tasty, the service is perfect, the restaurant is very clean and welcoming, they also have cozy area where you can have a nice couple tea after meal.

Great atmosphere. Welcoming staff.. food is gorgeous the fish from the boat you can select and have it cooked the way you like. The biryani n Egyptian food n mixed grill all soft was extremely tasty.
Had a really good dinner and sheesha in the outside garden area.

Visited here with my Father for an impromptu Friday night meal. We were pleasantly welcomed by staff and the extensive menu of both Egyptian and Indian cuisine. We opted for extra spicy lamb and chick khrai but were bowled over by the chicken biryani that was both moist and well seasoned. The highlight was the garlic naans with their soft fluffy texture and crispy base.
Happy customers. If unsure, definitely give it a go.

This is the best restaurant In Edgware road. Best food and best service. The staff is so amazing and attentive. You will not be disappointed for sure. ABSOLUTELY BEST YOU WILL EVER HAVE!!!!
Delicious food, fresh fish, good service, spacious restaurant. Portions are good, we took a few dishes to share. We had a great evening and will definitely be back.
The staff is so nice and welcoming, it's a pleasure to go back every time. All food i tried was amazing but the fish was so so good,fresh fish to choose from and really well prepared, would definitely recommend!
Honestly love this place. Amazing food, good environment and friendly staff. The Biryani is excellent and curry are nice. Would strongly recommend.
