The food is very good here ! Mainly greek cuisine , with some fine dining touches . Seasoning is in point , portions are proper and the
Ingredients stand out . Service can be slow , but the staff is friendly . The owner and chef is most of the days in the kitchen and keeps an eye on things. Very good value for money . Will definitely re visit.
Great experience overall. Although the plates were smaller than expected, the food was exquisite and above my expectations from starters to desserts. A pleasant surprise in my local area. Can't wait to go back!
Phenomenal food, what a treat! The "chicken soup" is like nothing I've ever tasted, exquisite! Their lunch deal is amazing value, 2 courses and a glass of wine for £20. A new favourite in the neighbourhood!
Great atmosphere and food at an independent restaurant. I visited on a Saturday evening and the venue was nearly full. The food is sort of Greek tapas style, with other Mediterranean influences. We had Cornish mackerel, grilled king prawn, caramelized cauliflower, hummus and a Greek salad. All of the food was delicious and fresh. The staff were very friendly too. A welcome addition to the area.
Went for lunch on sunday , this is the same people that have the peckham Bazzar. Simplistic mordarn design , relaxed, friendly, knowledgeable service . Food is fresh from local markets that morning and very well prepared and presented.
Great consice wine list that's very well priced.
Great neighbourhood restaurant!
Excellent place for Mediterranean fare. The dishes are unique yet they feel familiar. Great service. Can't wait to go back.
Having eaten at their sister restaurant Peckham Bazaar several times we were thrilled when this opened near to our new home. Last night was our second visit to Lyceum and we were not disappointed. John, the owner and chef, was on the pass which pleased us greatly. Charlie our waitress was brilliant, so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the whole menu.
The food is delicious, beautifully presented and fab flavours. We ate nearly the whole menu as with friends but big shout out to the cauliflower, the chicken thigh and the lamb. Seeing the other reviews, some have struggled with the sharing nature but we love that.
So pleased to have this in the area, the menu changes regularly and it’s a lovely atmosphere. Thanks John and team, you going to be seeing a lot of us.
The restaurant has tweaked the menu slightly and we had an excellent meal here. All of the dishes we tried were outstanding (grilled prawns, Cornish monkfish, octopus, tarama, baba ganoush, souvlaki, calamares) and the generous use of fresh herbs made the dishes sing. The chocolate dessert is a must. The service was cheerful and friendly and the meal was very good value. This place is highly recommended and should be supported. It is a local gem.
Best neighbourhood restaurant you can imagine - skilled cookery served with real care and attention in an informal setting with cheerful, friendly service. What are warm-up acts in run of the mill Greek restaurants are taken to a completely different level, and the main dishes are seriously good.
Lovely local restaurant with great food and easy atmosphere. Look forward to going again.
Very unusual take on service there is no division between starter and main. Food arrives as it is ready I believe its
called a shearing menu. But expertly cooked. Its a shame its hardly ever open.
Delicious food and welcoming ambience. I enjoyed the open kitchen view - only thing was availability of some dishes, we arrived at 8pm and were surprised that some dishes were sold out by that time. Will come back to try them though!
Honestly I loved it. Such a gorgeous restaurant. The menu is interesting and delicious. Think Baba Ganoush, beef, monkfish etc. The desserts are worth a look too. I loved the lady who served us. Its clearly a restaurant that cares and loves what they do.
Had a beautiful meal here with my wife and mum. Incredible food and wine with lovely staff. Octopus, courgette fritter and braised lamb were particular highlights.
Only shame is that they do not distribute their 12.5% service charge to their staff. This is pretty poor and most restaurants no longer practice this after a very public backlash against some of the more well established brands. It's the only negative so get with the times guys and you'll get 5 stars!
Booked not having heard of this place before but wanting a night out. Menu seemed good, concerned all wine was Greek. It was the most amazing meal. Great service, the best squid EVER, it melted. Fish mezze was a good starter and then monkfish and beef as mains, both excellent and shared a choc pud. Turns out Greek wine is good. The combination of ingredients on each dish was fantastic. Also liked the look of the place and staff took Covid-19 seriously. So chuffed to have found a local treat place.
A fantastic addition to West Dulwich, bereft of independently owned restaurants. We went 4 days after it opened and had the most superb dinner which exceeded expectations. A wonderful and varied menu, home made bread with an interesting wine list. Every dish we had was cooked to perfection. Great modern decor. Super friendly and helpful staff. Can’t wait to return!
