Best place for lunchtime sandwiches in the area. Has both quality and quantity so you don't feel hungry afterwards. Gets busy as a result. Staff are also friendly and it's a nice place to sit. Also does salads and a soup deal which are popular.
The original great sandwich place for me. I've been countless times to the Moorgate shop and this store is just as good. They use exceptional quality bread and the filling is made of excellent ingredients. They have both hot and cold sandwiches. Their soups are also not to be underestimated and are of high order. Well worth paying the extra bit for good lunch food.
My office moved here recently and this has to be one of the best samdwich places in London. Everything is fresh and made to order. They also have a few hot sandwich selections as well as 8-10 different kinds of soup. For central London, I think it is good value as well. I really am getting to like this place. I have not tried it yet, but they do breakfast here as well.
Good customizable salads, decent sandwiches. However there is often a queue, and service is not the best i have ever had. I go there 2-3 times a week, always take the same salad eat in, but i keep paying different prices, and when i asked why, the woman on the counter snapped at me. Still a nice place though, good healthy food for a reasonable price.
The sandwiches/melts and salads in the place are awesome. More expensive than certain places but you do get a damm good sandwich! One thing is ordering can be a bit intimidating cause there is no clear way to distinguish the different queues. It's quite confusing but when you figure it out it's fine.
I get a delicious vegan soup here regularly for lunch. Sandwiches are fresh and look delicious, though I've never ordered one. Prices are reasonable and service is quick and efficient.
There are fresh made hot sandwich (turkey, salted beef, and sausage), fresh tosses salad, and premade sandwiches and soups. Its one of the best places to get fresh food around the area. Prices range from 5 pounds. There is very little seating here, and your best bet would be to take out.
Best place in the area for a take away lunch. Soup and sandwiches are unbeatable and the price is good. Only place for improvement is in the queue system where it's easy to get confused which line you're actually in!
The salad s we had were really tasty, the shop/eating area were very clean and tidy, our servers was in training and was very polite and confident. A little on the expensive side but we'll worth the price.
Their make-your-own salads are great and fills you up, with a bunch of toppings and dressings to choose from. A great takeaway lunch spot!
The Harrods of sandwich shops. Lots of options and varieties. Easy to get lost in the different selections and a little overwhelming the first visit. Everything is very tasty and delicious though.
I’ve wandered perplexed, in the hope of finding a rival, but none be forthcoming. It is just simply the case, that when it comes to the business of producing sandwiches, this chain reigns unchallenged.
The roast turkey sandwich (large), will leave you wanting for naught.
Opting for the brown bread, as is my prerogative, poultry carved fresh and stacked high. Stuffing in a supporting role, but not for lack of impact.
Rocket? Cometh the question. Yes, invariably the answer, at least in this camp.
The house wisely recommends port and cranberry sauce, but has the largesse to offer alternatives. You’ve trusted them thus far, I would suggest you defer to their better knowledge. For my part, additional mayo has always been a safeguard to counteract the risk of dry Turkey, a curse that can befall even the most capable of handlers. Though, let it be known, when it comes to Birley’s handiwork, this measure has always proved an over insurance.
The devil is in the detail and the final query pays homage to this - ‘salt and pepper?’ Only a lunatic declines.
Try and put into words the joy this sandwich will bring. No Sir... I won’t. There lies folly. I would only compel you to join me as part of the knowing few, through first hand experience.
Regards.
The best lunch on Fleet Street.
Lovely, professional staff.
Period surroundings.
Brilliant sandwiches.
It beats Pret, Itsu and the nasty pasta place by miles.
This place is our go to place for lunch in London. Great food, great service and for London not to pricey.
Don't just look at the sandwiches check out there hot food.
Amazing spot for takeaway lunch. I especially love the home made soups. Lots of options and fresh made sandwiches for a great price!
Amazing selection of food at a very competitive price. They offer soup, sandwiches and salads but you can choose and mix whatever is available.
