I could gush all day about this place but let me just say FANTASTIC in every aspect. Highly recommend the seabass & taco suya. Going back immediately lockdown is over.
This place continues to outdo itself. The food was exceptionally tasty I had the king prawn moi moi, the sea bass and the stick toffee pudding. The flavours work so well and the quality of the food. The cocktails are great I had two classic ones and of of the signature ones the Royal Zombie which is a definite must. The decor atmosphere the music and the staff very attentive. It feels like you are in a Mayfair restaurant with such a elegance.Great place great food great cocktails great vibe great service . I will definitely return and bring my friends and family.

Just came back from this beautiful restaurant. The Welcome we got was excellent. All staff were very welcoming with a smile. We were asked our choice of seating then promptly the gentleman brought over a jug of water with lemon and ice which was great. I was with my daughter and very active 2 year old granddaughter who would not keep still. The gentleman who took our order was very child friendly and made us feel at ease. This establishment was very clean and cutlery was spotless. The food was outstanding and I could tell that it was made with fresh ingredients. The presentation of the food was really nice. The cocktails............what can I say.......wow, they were beautiful. The best I've ever tasted. The relaxed ambience of this place made it even more unique.
If you want a restaurant with class, excellent customer service, great food and drink then this is the place to go. I've already made plans to return!
Reasonable prices. We spent around £30 a head. That included mains, sides, cocktails and service charge. Money definitely well spent😊
Had a nice post-lockdown meal at the talking Drum with my partner and a friend. The food was pretty good and the flavours were great. Cocktails were on point too. I was slightly disappointed that the lamb was a bit over-done and chewy and the fat hadn't been rendered down properly so it was inedible. Also the dinner plates were a bit of an odd shape, making it difficult to eat. That said, I would still eat here again. What really stole the show was our waiter. I didn't catch his name but he was French and had curly hair. He was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable and made our dining experience a great one.
Food is sensational and I’ve never had anything like it. The ambience, decor and music is so special in this place. Additionally, if you’re fortunate enough to be served by the lovely Pai, you’re very well taken care of. One of the best waitresses I’ve ever had in any restaurant. In the aftermath of reopening after lockdown, we waited a long time for food and there were issues with paying via card. I have full confidence the Talking Drum team will have these resolved by the time you visit. The food is a must try!
Went there on a Sunday afternoon and had a good experience. Customer service was great, food arrived on time, the manager/cocktail mixologist guy was really helpful and the cocktails we had were very nice 👌🏽
The place has a really stylish interior design and decor, so the ambience would suit a nice chill out kind of vibe. Ladies toilets are cute for a cheeky selfie lol
The food we had at the time was okay...could be better, we were told that the chef at the time was a temporary fill in and that their new chef would start later that week, so we will defo be back to give it a proper verdict!
Excellent food as well as the customer service complemented with music. Great atmosphere. Amazing waiters & bartenders. Cocktails are beautiful. Happy hour 2 for £15 Wednesday to Friday!! Defo can’t miss out.
I absolutely loved it! So much so, that my family and I went again the next day - it's our new fav spot for sure. The menu is amazing, the thought behind it and the combination of flavours were to die for (especially the soya sirloin), we were mm'ing and ahh'ing throughout- BIGGEST compliments to the chef. Besides the amazing food, the customer service was impeccable - particularly our waiter Sami who went above and beyond and really added to the whole experience. Such a vibe, would 100% recommend it.

The decor is so lush and unique I had such a great time. The service was amazing they where so accommodating to my needs and requirements, I had a really nice guy who looked after my table and the food was to die for.
I will definitely be coming back and would sooooooo recommend this place for a perfect fine dining experience.

Tried this new restaurant for the first time with a friend and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. ... Overall a good meal and great value we will certainly be going back.oh the restaurant itself was very chic and great atmosphere .

The long awaited review from Jocelyn has finally arrived! After thorough thought and consideration, as a new restaurant as well, I’m very pleased with my experience. There are pros and then there are cons - there’s always room for improvement of course.
The food was sumptuous. I’m acc happy I decided to take the food home to eat otherwise I would not have been able to properly enjoy this meal to my satisfaction. I ordered jollof with beef which was amazing, half chicken and plantain which was fantastic too. All the dishes were very very flavoursome.
The venue is very nice. Good for pictures yes. Nice cute vibe all round. The staff are very helpful. Obviously it’s a new franchise on the high street, and it’s a Saturday night. I could see the stress on their faces but it’s okay. I can definitely see they were really trying their best with the service. Can’t really knock them off too tough.
The cons. Well there is always room for improvement.
To start off with, please make it clear on the website or more visible on the menu that service charge is not optional. At the checkout when I was about to pay for my order I was hit with the fact that service charge was added to my bill and it’s non negotiable. I was very dumbfounded when they went to go and show me on the menu that service charge is not optional. It was written in small print - imagine! At the time, it being 9 days since they were open there was no menu even on their website so it was almost impossible to even take this into account before arriving.
Next, despite having a pre order emailed in advance, most of our orders didn’t arrive on time. Mine to be specific came very very late. In the end I had to tell them to bag my order as by the time my own food came everyone else had finished eating. So you can imagine. I can understand that we were a big table however just imagine if we didn’t submit a pre order in advance. It would have been way worse. Improvement in terms of delivery is needed. As you are learning experience wise, I’m sure they will definitely improve on the service. It all takes practice I know.
Overall, I give it a 4 star. I would visit this restaurant again for a date night perhaps. The food is part to do with why I would return again. Just part. The venue is very new so mistakes and mishaps are bound to happen but I’m sure as the venue and it’s staff settle into the franchise it will be 10/10. It has the potential 100%.
