We have dined at this lovely place a few times. An upmarket seafood restaurant. It is very popular and located near water. Not far from The Tower Bridge.
We enjoyed every visit. Nice vibe. Food was fantastic. Booking is essential.
We will return. Highly recommend!
Note: Tables are small. Very intimate seating.
This place will earn Michelin star someday.
It’s more like fine dining, every taste was delicate and deliberately designed.
And server was much better than 5 star hotel restaurant. Very classic.
We had such a pleasant dinner at The Melusine. We ate at an outside table which was perfect. The Octopus was very tasty with some bites nicely crisp, the monk fish was excellent and the chips (fries) were delicious. Kata was charming and Mathew, although quite busy, was a pleasure. Highly recommend.
The Melusine is a wonderful seafood restaurant in the Tower Bridge area at St. Katharine Docks Marina. The service and atmosphere are both warm and welcoming. It is not a large place, so reservations are highly suggested. There is outdoor dining overlooking the picturesque Marina available (and recommended) during nice weather. We chose the indoor counter this visit to watch the very talented chefs do their magic. Lastly, the food...it is incredible! This visit we thoroughly enjoyed: bread, olives, taramosalata, perfectly prepared crispy cod cheeks, skate wing, and Scottish langostines. And for dessert--a delightful drink called 'Juliette', a mix of caramel, espresso and vodka shaken with ice and served in a chilled martini-ish glass. It was the perfect ending to an equally perfect meal and evening. You musn't miss this gem; you can thank me later.
I wanted to have an outdoor dining experience in the marina and when I found this restaurant in Google with 4.8/5 overall rating and barely any 1-stars, it immediately captured my eye! Without having any insight or expectations we gave it a try and it ended up being one of the best dining experiences we had in London.
Every dish was unique and delicious. Greek-British fusion was lovely. Being Turkish myself, as Greek cuisine is similar to ours, felt nostalgic with the ingredients like feta, aubergine, parsley, mint incorporated into modern dishes. Fish was one of the freshest I’ve ever had in London. Desserts were tasty and refreshing. Coffee was a big bonus! Wouldn’t normally order coffee in the night but I fancied it and it ended up being top notch barista quality - look at those shapes!
Service was slightly slow on a Friday night but that was no problem as we were having a lovely time. Terrace closes around 9.30 so they kindly moved us to an inside table later and we enjoyed our mains and desserts there until they almost closed.
Staff were friendly and always attentive. Decoration and tableware were just beautiful. Overall absolutely great experience!
A sort of hidden gem of a place with absolutely delicious food (we had quite a few items from the menu and loved each one!) and overlooking a small part of the dock. Friendly, efficient service plus their very convenient opening hours - so you don't have to conform to rigid eating hours to get wonderful food!
Wow! This was some of the best food I've had in London in a little while. I am a Katherine's local and have only discovered this place recently. I can't believe it, the food is absolutely outstanding. Their menu changes every day and all the fish is freshly caught. Every dish we had was incredinle, not a single negative remark towards the food, just wow. Service was super attentive and friendly, our glasses were never empty. The ambiance is also a great, with an intimate atmosphere in a cosy setting with views of the St Katherine's marina. Highly recommend if you like seafood.
Came for dinner on a Saturday night. The food, drinks and service were all great.
We had the starters of ceviche, feta and the brill+pork dish. Plus the sourdough bread which came in a huge portion actually. The ceviche and the feta were great. Brill was cooked well while a pork was a bit on the rubbery side.
Then we had the octopus for mains which was fantastic - tender and flavoursome.
We were so full that we could not fit a dessert which was a shame as the dessert menu looked great. Oh well, a good reason to return soon!
The only thing I would recommend is diversifying the non alcoholic drinks list - some more sophisticated mocktails would really take the restaurant to the new level.
We visited for Valentine's Day and chose the Valentine's Day Tasting menu with wine pairings. It was a great experience. The staff were excellent. The food was super and some interesting tastes. It's seafood so you need to like it. If you do then would certainly recommend.
100% recommended, good service, excellent attention from the manager Kata. The food was spectacular, everything very fresh and delicious. I will definitely come back.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. I’m a massive seafood fan and it’s hard to find a great seafood place in London - the Melusine did not disappoint. Oysters, octopus and John Dory were excellent, as were the cocktails and recommended wine. Would’ve tried everything on the menu if I could.
Location is great, staff were extremely friendly and the seats outside in a quiet but gorgeous location are a real treat.
Love it!
Booked same day on OpenTable for outdoor seating for a group of 6. I was extremely impressed by the food and the outdoor setting was lovely on a hot summer’s day in London. Highly recommend!! Each dish was excellent and the staff had good knowledge of what to recommend us - especially Camila who was excellent!
A really enjoyable evening. We shared a selection of starters and mains with friends. The ceviche was delicious and the risotto was super rich (ideal for sharing between 4 as a spoonful was enough) but I'd skip the asparagus next time. The oysters were also huge and reasonably good value. The mains were definitely the highlight though. Fish changes depending on what's available - we ordered Pollack and skate wing and both were fresh, meaty, beautifully cooked and easily fed all 4 of us. Make sure to also order a side of the kale as well - it's fantastically garlicky.
The service was exceptional - low key, friendly and knowledgeable. Our waiter recommended an excellent wine within our price range, brought us blankets as soon as we looked chilly and was always available when needed. The location, especially as it's currently all outdoor tables, is beautifully serene overlooking the water. You definitely forget you're in London. The only downside was the toilets, of which there is only one with a broken sink.
This place couldn’t be better! It’s a cosy restaurant with a great atmosphere. You feel instantly comfortable the moment you walk in. A great place for an intimate date or a meal with friends.
The food is so well crafted and made with love. With lots of different wines and plates on the menu that you wouldn’t find in any other regular restaurant in London.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Totally recommend!
Always a big fan of nice restaurants around St Katherine's Dock.
We came here hungry and we left fully satisfied. Our mains were particularly good and certainly will be looking to come back next year to see what it's like in summer.
Exceptional food, service and atmosphere. The staff really care about their guests, and the quality of everything on offer. We’ll be back again very soon!
I had a really lovely time here.
We booked a patio seat for two and the table we were sat at was beside the restaurant and not closest to the water. Once a table freed up, our waitress let us move which was really nice because it was our last night in London and we were hoping for a nice water view table!
We ordered 4 oysters to start and they were so juicy and briny that we ended up ordering another 4.
Everything we ordered was so elegantly prepared and had its own unique flavours. The scallops were fresh tasting with the green pesto and the other fish dish we got was creamy and savoury. We ordered some sourdough so we could sop up all the extra delicious sauces. They were unfortunately out of the John Dory but we loved everything we got.
When we arrived, our waitress was rushing us to order because the restaurant closes at 9:30 but we arrived before 7:30 so I was a bit annoyed to be rushed but they definitely made up for it by moving us to a better view.
I would highly recommend coming here for some delicious seafood dishes!
Super and cozy atmosphere
