Had the BLT- it was delicious! The French stick means baguette sandwiches which also looked great- I just was not sure what it meant initially but then it made sense! Lots of local tradesmen getting breakfast and lunch, busy spot, excellent value. Very friendly And accommodating staff. Thank you

Proper old-school Builders café. Where else can you get a decent fry-up for £7?! Friendly staff, speedy service, and just two minutes from the canal and Hackney Wick Station. If you're after a greasy spoon providing amazing value for money this place is a must, will line your stomach and set you up for the day! Love this place!!!

Hackney Wick has become far too trendy and the rest of it. Mapps Cafe is the only place around here worth going to! A true gem. An east end cultural heritage. This is the place. Don’t ask for any hipster nonsense like soya milk. Here a spade is called a spade

It’s a very small and very nice busy place! The staff is extremely nice! Smile and positivity is the name of this cafe :) When you walk in first, what you can see, is a pretty little bar ! The place is pretty clean and tidy! The table was cleared straight away after i finished my meal! The food is really good and the price is not bad! So I would definitely recommend this place for a quick bite or just for a Coffee ☕️!

Old school builders cafe. Inexpensive fry up without any frills. Sadly not many of these cafes left in east London

Brilliant cafe to stop for lunch. From traditional English greasy-spoon grub, to lively chicken and salad wrap, all freshly cooked to order, there's something for most people to enjoy here. Staff are lovely, and seem to know (or want to know) everybody! My only slight negative is that it's quite a crowded space, but having lots of full seats is a good sign in a cafe so not really grumbling.

Great place, a cafe how they used to be, huge portions, good prices, well cooked food and quick service, all the breakfast you could ever want, not a posh cafe by any stretch and that's what makes it great- Update Aug 23, visited again and still great for lunch and brekkie, highly recommended

It’s a great place with traditional food, really fast and happy service and the owner is so lovely! It is also very cheap for a big plate of food.

This place is as good as it gets. They don’t make them like they used to, apart from this place. Unbelievable food at a great price.

The last of the greasy spoons in Hackney Wick & an absolute institution. Gigantic portions that I can’t finish myself. Tasty & well cooked 👍

Excellent cafe open from 5am plenty on offer at a reasonable cost. Try the Mapp special for £8 includes 2 slices of crusty bread or toast and a cup of tea. Great value.

Gets real busy, so if you do decide to dine in, take yourself right in the corner where possible, out the way of the queue and door! Good food all round and great value for money.
