I don’t know why this place got only 3.2 stars but it’s a 5 star restaurant in my books. Ordered through Uber eats and the food arrived piping HOT :) I was wary of the food tasting bland but this tastes JUST like how Chinese chefs cook it back at home. I love this place and I’ll definitely order again! Loyal customer *won*.
I also highly recommend the deep fried seaweed, bbq spare ribs and aubergine.
BTW I eat very little so I spooned out the food into a mini bowl of my own. The portions were huge :)
We order from this place every Friday for around 6 months, they cook excellent food and are well valued through their website. Beef Ho Fun is made with the correct noodles too.
Will be loyal for a while.
This is by far the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in London- possibly anywhere!
So fresh and authentic. Would recommend the stir fried cabbage, aubergine, Ho Fun noodles and black bean chicken. Amazed by some of the reviews below, as I am fussy and this was really delicious!
Had friends over and we ordered a takeout. We all agreed the food was great. Fresh, good quality produce and delicious. Portions are very generous.
The food was just absolutely amazing!!! My friend recommended this place and least to say, I am not disappointed. The crispy chilli beef and the seafood udon was just out of this world! 100% would order again
I dont know why people complain. Just order 2 portions of thai green currie lamb and 1 rice for 20 quid and shut up. It will come in under 30 minutes piping hot in its own sealed container, with a good mix of veg and maybe free cookies depending on the cheffs mood that day, the amount of chilli migh also sagnificantly varie on the same basis but who cares when it tastes really good and portions are big, rice portions could be slightly bigger but anyway... And don't expect anyone to be nice to you unless you have done years of hard physical work for 10 hours daily youself, while smiling. Quite a few here haven't done any hard labour at all, filtering air with their mouth for a living and braging for a portion of rice. Go to fine dining, pay and brag there you doughnuts. Its a good value chinese place who cares about their food and service. Well above average.
Outstanding; this is now my "go to" place for oriental food. Excellent quality, good portions and an extensive menu. Very good value for money.
After a hard day's work or a relaxing evening on the weekend, Golden City is just what you need. It's not Michelin style food, its homemade yummyness!
The man is knackered as he works 365 days a year so I forgive his tired demeanour. We give a simple nod of mutural understanding and proceed with the order. The mum always gives a smile as she walks past the kitchen door.
