Plate after plate of exactingly cooked, original and delicious food. The Jerusalem Mixed Grill is rightly famed (and could persuade a few offal nay-sayers to rethink) but every plate is so well thought out and memorable. Seriously rapid service too. Brilliant.

Oren is a quintessentially ‘London’ eatery. Atmosphere, attentive service, and more importantly, magnificent food. The bread made me die and go to heaven, but I quickly returned to feast on more, specifically the potatoes, and a corn dish that blew everyone’s minds. The plaice was a delight, with generous amounts of coriander and flavour. The chocolate mousse was the perfect finisher, and was sadly gone too quickly and missed its chance to be photographed.

A lovely neighbourhood restaurant. Had a few small plates and some great wine here It’s kinda Middle Eastern, Mediterranean with some nice seasonal British ingredients (asparagus with labneh and tomatoes was the standout dish), I felt it was under seasoned in parts and the pita was a little dense, and not as soft or warm as I would have hoped for Wine list is short but well thought through; with a good mix of natural stuff in there Service is friendly, easy and nicely attentive without being too intrusive Be a great place for a sharing meal with a small group (place isn’t built for big tables) and the vibe is mellow Shoutout to whoever makes the playlists; music was superb

Nice spot for modern Israeli inspired classics. Using local ingredients, which is great. We were recommended to get 10-12 courses for 4 people, but ultimately about 8-10 was enough for the 4 of us (hungry). The dessert selection was quite narrow and I personally think could have been more creative, yet well executed. Of the mains, the Hake over Tahini was clearly the highlight. Cocktails were not extremely creative, but executed ok. Bottom line: nice place but not sure I will come back again.

Came here for dinner Recommend 5-6 dishes for two people. We ordered the butter beans and courgettes to start. Both were excellent. For the seafood dishes we had the sardines and squid. Also excellent and well balanced dishes. We ordered the shaslik which only had maybe 4 pieces of meat on it. Was very small and could have been a bit more substantial Also we ordered the mixed grill sandwich. The pitta it was served in was cold. Would be a lot of Better if the bread was served hot. Overall was a good meal. However the Shashlik and the bread being served warm are two areas of improvement The service was good!

Had the most fantastic experience at Oren. Visited here for my partner's birthday meal and just had the most delightful experience. The venue we could see was very popular as all tables were full most of the time. The service was fast, attentive and served with a smile. The food... incredible. We particularly enjoyed the lamb koftas and noticed quite a few other customers did also. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting or new to the Hackney area.

Oren is so so good! I've been wanting to go for awhile so a friend and I booked for the weekend. We sat at the bar and watched the action in the kitchen. Dish after dish was super tasty (loved the tartare and the squid). Natural wine selection was great too. 100% lived up to the hype

I've been wanting to come here for a while and the food was mostly good but there is room for improvement. We shared the stone baked flatbread with tomato and olive oil (really good), smoked aubergine with tahini and harrisa (nice), freekeh with cuttlefish (not bad but nothing special), Jerusalem mixed grill (good), beef cheek and hummus (the beef cheek was super tender but the flavour combination didn't work). The staff (especially the bartender) were friendly and the atmosphere was cosy. I would come back to try other dishes on the changing menu.

Delicious food, a modern take on the Mediterranean cuisine, dishes keep on changing seasonally, I find that the consistency between the first and main dishes brings joy to my soul! The atmosphere is great service is superb even when they are busy the wine list is ‘fresh’ from natural to organic wines. I warmly recommend , im definitely coming back!!

Came with a friend for a weekend lunch. The food was delicious with simple fresh ingredients that were beautifully presented. The smoked aubergine, cherry salad, and sea bass were standouts. Staff, vibe, and drinks were so good we ended up staying all afternoon. 10/10 will come back.
